Wanted to book a semi-last minute tee time. Pretty much all the courses in the vicinity were pretty much booked up. Weird, I found Hiddenbrooke had all, most of their morning times open. Cool, but suspicious. I needed a time, so I went for it. Hiddenbrooke has always been enjoyable whenever I played it (which isn't too often). I had a mid-morniing tee time. When we arrived, the parking lot seemed empty. When we walked into the pro shop, it had the vibe it was about the close and I missed the every must go sale. I joked with the guy behind the counter and asked what was happening. He said everything was well and Troon had bought them a couple years prior. Finally, the course itself was ok. Definitely could have been kept up a little better. My friend forgot his water and asked if there was water on the course. He was told yes. Well, there essentially was...one at the end of the front 9 and one near the beginning of the back 9...and no paper cups. The carts were extremely worn. The whole vibe seemed like they were running on fumes, which is a shame because I have always enjoyed playing Hiddenbrooke. It was and still is a challenging course. One thing I have always disliked no matter the condition of its current status, their hillside driving range. Anyway, I hope I'm wrong about the course's current situation. I hate losing local golf courses.

Came on a rainy weekday morning after the holidays and there were a decent amount of groups playing. The clubhouse was very nice and check in was easy after we made a phone call to book the tee time. The first tee is right in front of the club house and close to where you pick up the carts. Carts seats had some rips on the sides but didn't affect how the cart functioned. Could see how pace of play could be slow because of the difficulty of the golf course but we played 18 holes in 4 hours and 20 minutes. Overall, amazing course layout/design and amazing value compared to any championship course in the Bay (18 hole for $47 with cart included). It was rainy and muddy so the conditions weren't that great but if it was a nice day I could see it being pretty good. The greens were rolling 10.5 on the stimp despite it being wet. Great course to test your course management skills since there's lots of hazards and elevation.

Played Hiddenbrooke for only the second time ever last week and was pleasantly surprised. Many public golf courses have gone way down hill or even closed since the drought years and COVID. Happy to report that Hiddenbrooke is not one of them. Played on a Friday in a little under 4 hours as a foursome with groups ahead and behind. The course was in great shape, bunkers full of sand and greens rolling beautifully for this time of year. For the price point you can't beat this place. Only losing a star based on food and drink offering post round. Even with the 35 minute drive this place will become my go to for golf moving forward, a real hidden gem.

Closed for lunch sign at noon

I played a round of golf today and was disappointed to reach the 10th hole at noon only to see a sign saying the snack bar is closed for lunch. CLOSED FOR LUNCH AT NOON! There's a lunch menu so I would expect it to be open at lunch hour.

Course and staff were awesome. One of the best public courses I've ever played. Price value was a plus.

just an absolute shit hole... They charge $100 for the round for a really poorly course. To top it charges like they're Pebble Beach.

Like the golf course, but their grill and food was terrible. Hope they can improve since golf was good.

The other coach...a guy at Blue Rocks is pretty cocky, walking around like he's cool... nah he's not.... he just starts to set up all his stuff for his class, as you and others are putting, yells for people to move and then when I asked what he was doing, he brings out his "pro" card or employee badge or whatever. Apparantly means, he owns the place. Anyways. Do not go for that guy. Rebekka is the Wo'man' for the job. She works w your swing and gives good practical tips to improve. The first time we went was great. The dragon bounce house was inflated and the size of the thing offset the amount of kids that were there. It didn't feel out of control, and it was a little more peaceful. Today, the dragon bounce house was deflated, because the bigger kids there were just destroying it. Not with malicious intent I'm sure, but these bounce houses are really not made for teenagers. Since the dragon bounce house was down, the big kids moved on to the remaining two bounce houses that are not even comparable in size to the dragon one. The big kids dominated the bounce houses, which made the smaller kids nervous. It was unsafe for the littles. Parents of the bigger kids were completely checked out and paying no mind to their out of control kids that were knocking over the smaller bounce houses. Additionally, you had big kids climbing on top of the roofs of the small play houses, which I was hoping my 11 month old could play in. No way would it have been safe with the much older boys literally jumping from the top of one roof to another. This place is so incredible, and highlights more of what we need in the area. We definitely need the dragon bounce house repaired, and absolutely need better safety measures to keep the smaller kids safe amongst the bigger ones. Parents need to be better about watching their kids, and perhaps an additional staff member can be assigned to the play area- making sure the big kids aren't destroying the bounce houses that they shouldn't be on anyways.

I used to really enjoy coming to Skylinks at Buchanan Fields. The improvements over the past few…read moreyears--especially to the driving range--have been great, and it was exciting to see the facility getting new life and attracting more people. That said, the range experience has recently become frustrating. I completely support the effort to make Skylinks more family-friendly and welcoming to a wider audience. But lately it feels like the pendulum has swung too far away from being a place where people can actually practice golf. On several visits, I've seen range bays occupied for extremely long stretches by people doing everything except hitting balls--eating meals, reading newspapers, hanging out socially, etc. Meanwhile, others who came specifically to practice are waiting around for a spot. It's discouraging when you come with the intention of working on your game but can't get access to the range. This seems like a policy issue that could be easily addressed. Implementing reasonable time limits for range bays during busy periods would go a long way toward making the experience fair for everyone. Many ranges already do this successfully. Skylinks has done a lot of great work revitalizing the facility, and I'd love to see that momentum continue. A few adjustments to how range time is managed would help ensure the space works well both for social visitors and for golfers who are there to practice.

They have discounts for military / law enforcement (even retired). After that, it seems to go down hill. The carts are old and worn. There are no trash cans on the course. Why? There was no water available on the course. They had the little huts, but no coolers inside. It was 90 degrees today. No drink cart on the course. No water on the course. That's insane. The course is still challenging and fun to play, but seriously...it could be so much better. Especially considering the location it's in. The first hole always seemed to kick my backside. Not sure I ever got par on this par 5. The 2nd hole was an elevated par 3 and I always ended up on the right gully or in the trap. 3rd & 4th hole were good. Short par 4 and fairly easy par 3. Hated 6 through 9. Par 3 over a gully, 7 is a long par 3, dog leg left, green protected by a large oak. 8th probably the hardest hole on the course. Gully all the way down the right side. 9 is a long challenging par 5 with water. The back 9 I liked 10 & 11 (par 3), 12 was always tough with a narrow, difficult tee shot. 13 was a long up hill par 5 that played much longer. 14 was a short downhill par 4 dog leg right with a green protected by deep bunkers. 15 was a straight par 4 down hill. 16 was a challenging par 4 with gully down the right. 17 was a short par 3 over the same gully and a bunker in the back of the green for those who fly it long. 18 was a memorable par 5 with a blind tee shot.
