First time at Denny's since moving here. Came to check out their Grand Slam Special Deals. My partner, son and I ordered their $8 grand slam deal. Comes with two buttermilk pancakes, hash browns, shelled eggs (must request shelled and scrambled), and two strips of bacon and sausage. I was so hungry I did not capture any images today. With mine I requested to sub my buttermilk pancakes for their multigrain pancakes which are higher in fiber, for an additional $0.89. However when our food came, my sub pancakes didn't come. In fact they never came. We had finished all of our food, me minus my pancakes bc I was waiting for the multigrain. And our waitress, Bianca, was sooooo kind. She came over and apologized on behalf of the kitchen that they completely forgot about my pancakes. And maybe bc I'm pregnant, not sure. She told me that she went ahead and covered our whole bill on the house! And the pancakes are being made now and should be done shortly for us to take to go. I was so thankful! How sweet! Especially after our last experience at the Chinese restaurant who had hard plastic like glass in our soups and they were only going to offer 10% off!!! Here, they forgot my pancakes and comped our whole meal! And then when she brought the pancakes she didn't just bring one order. She brought three orders! So we got a total of 6 multigrain pancakes to go to enjoy tomorrow. Absolutely grateful the way Bianca and staff helped take care of us today. We made sure to give her a nice tip showing our appreciation and we will definitely be back, and request Bianca to be our waitress. By the way, the food was made fresh, was yum, and I'd definitely choose this place over IHOP any day. (We thought to go there at first) Also if you become a member, as a thank you, they offer you a free dessert and stack of pancakes on the house. Overall, loved the vibe and ambiance, loved the service, enjoyed the food and loved the hospitality on a Sunday, even with it being busy. I highly recommend! read more

7 pm, Wednesday 9/3. No hot tea even though it's on the menu. No soup, even though it's on the menu. No brown gravy, you get the idea. One server trying to do everything and deal with having to tell all these customers that they should basically go somewhere else without really saying it, and compromising her own income. I feel for her. The menu is greatly reduced, and a huge disappointment. The diner is too dark for this clientele, dark brown ceiling tiles, poor lighting, nasty ass walls. I am looking around trying to find a positive, and other than our server busting her ass here until she finds something better, I see nothing good. Most tables, including us, are Seniors who chose Denny's with minimal expectations, yet somehow still extremely disappointed. We walked in and made note of the few customers that are here; now we know why. I am not even going to say anything negative about our server, she is playing the hand she is dealt, but I will say that this Denny's should just shut it's doors. Don't franchise owners have to maintain some sort of corporate standards? I heard a bunch of Paneras closed here in the Houston area because the franchise owners were not maintaining the corporate standards, to put it mildly., I feel this Denny's is the same way and the corporate Denny's should do something. Maybe this franchise doesn't operate that way, or Maybe corporate doesn't care. The owners definitely don't care. I haven't even touched on the food, I ordered a chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and broccoli. Hubby ordered the superbird with fries. At this point , I have zero expectations. I just learned our server is ' Miss T". I learned this because there's.... Get this, another employee sitting in the booth directly behind us. He's been there the entire time, I didn't even realize he was an employee. He is VAPING. Miss T is clearly annoyed that she is running around and he is sitting at a booth enjoying a very extended break. And vaping. That really is the last straw for me. My husband cleaned his plate, the meat on the sandwich was really skimpy, but that didn't surprise us. Don't order the CFS here, it's gross. The best thing I had was the mashed potatoes with white gravy, so if you can make a meal out of that, go for it. Go to McDonald's or taco bell, yes, either of those trashy places would be better. read more

Took my daughter for a daddy daughter date at Denny's which she requested. I've never been a huge fan of Denny's, this was experience was pretty much what I expected. Our service and waitress were great, the food came out looking amazing, honestly had it been hot. I would've been completely satisfied, it still did the job and tasted okay, but it not being lukewarm really was disappointing. Other than that the hashbrowns and steak were cooked to my requested style. I'm just not a huge fan of Denny's due to past experiences and this experience didn't move the noodle anywhere closer to that changing. read more

One way to completely waste money. Do not come to this location. I waited about an hour for my food and then when they brought it to our table for it was cold and gross. My burger bun was hard and so were my fries. All I ended up eating was the burger patty. The cooks weren't even wearing gloves or hair nets. My go-to spot for late night food in Tomball! I love coming here, it's always a joy and the workers are always happy at night! I didn't take pictures of my food, but I got the chicken fried chicken and mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks definitely could have been fried longer, maybe 5-10mins, the batter was barely tan. We are regulars here. And had a greeter that we've never meet . We asked to be seated at our regular table, there was about 5 tables with people. We were told they try to spread customers equally. Then the young red head young lady came to help. The first one told the 2nd 1 here you take care of this, I'm not even the server. Hadn't been to the Tomball Denny's in awhile it's been updated with a nice clean new look with tile like flooring no carpet. The booths need a little more cushion kinda felt like the booth we sat in was sucking me in and lumpy. My hubby and I just had the classic slam w/ 2 eggs, 2 bacon/2 sausage and 2 buttermilk pancakes. This is the worst any out of all the locations I've been to. The staff is so disrespectful with the exception of one waitress I had. She was new, I've tried this establishment a few times over the past few years and they do not allow any substitutions at all. We've even been willing to pay each time. And each time I've ended up walking out. The other Denny's down the road I've never have this issue with but for some reason this location treats their customers very poorly. We have been here a few times over the years. But not since the small fire and remodel, not sure how many years ago but I just remember hearing about the fire and remodel. Looks fresh and clean and newish. Service was very good and didn't have to wait to long. Plenty of parking but busy, shares lot with Chili's only waited 5 mins to be seated. Wife and I ate at the Denny's at 2920 & 249 in Tomball last week. Food and service was good, but when we went to check out the manager made a point of telling my wife that the breakfast she ordered should not have allowed any substitutions. Just didn't like the way she basically implied that we did something wrong, when the waitress should have said no substitutions when my wife ordered. Or the manager should have come over when we were ordering time to see if we still wanted to order that particular meal without making any substitutions. I felt like she was talking down to us like we were a couple of school kids that had knowingly tried to get away with something. Anyway this interaction with the manager ruined the experience and we won't ever go back to this Denny's again although we have been going there 2-3 times a month. read more

I gave it 5 stars because it exceeded my expectations. It's Denny's folks and three of us ate for under $30. Good variety of choices for breakfast. Dinner style atmosphere. We went in for breakfast on Fathers Day. Seated immediately and had a waitress taking our drink orders in less than 5 minutes. Food came out quickly. Good value with good size servings. I recommend! Our waitress, Candice, was very polite, patient, and understanding of my elderly parents. Just left us with a good feeling about the place. My friend and I attended one of Tomball's sip and stroll events tonight and decided we wanted something a bit different than the places we walk to at these events. We hit the local Denny's on the way home instead of one of the higher priced burger joints and we were amazed. Maybe it was just the luck of the draw but we both ordered burgers and they were perfectly cooked and prepared according to our specifications which was not the way they normally are served. We had the 5 pepper and the avocado&bacon burger with fries and onion rings. They were good. Even better than the food though was the service. The manager seated us and unfortunately I did not get her name. Our server, Joseph was prompt, attentive, knowledgeable but not overbearing or annoying. He was intelligent and truly seemed to enjoy his work. He wanted to make sure our experience was great even though we were only having burgers. This is the location my family and I normally frequent since it's closest to us but we will now drive farther for better food & service. The service was horrible. The server was very slow and misunderstood multiple times when we ordered. I asked for sweetened vanilla iced coffee and instead got black unsweetened iced coffee and when questioning her she said "I guess I can bring you the sweetened milk" When really it should of been taken back completely and redone. When our appetizer came out incorrect, we asked for it to be corrected and she gave us an attitude back arguing that this IS what we ordered when indeed it wasn't. She proceeded to go back to speak to her manager and I overheard her refer to me as "a bitch who doesn't know what she's ordering" And that we should have to pay for her mistake! Once the manager told her we don't have to pay and she should go get it to fix it. Our dinner finally came out and the bacon was cold. The sausage wasn't fully cooked and cold on the inside. And the toast burnt. I was so very disappointed that I don't plan on returning. Refills took forever. Bad attitude. And terrible food. Over the years this location has continued to improve. I am there with enough frequency now I know several of the servers and the amazing host by name....I've even given Gunter some CD's to check out. They even know me so most of the time I don't even have to tell anyone my order - thanks Audrey! It's a Denny's so nothing spectacular though this location seems to have kept offering the Tastes of Texas foods while not the actual menu. These people know how to do Migas kiddos! read more

Went to this restaurant while we were waiting at the discount tire right across from Denny's. Location is great. easy to find. Parking's everywhere. There was no wait when we showed up around 9am. People are super sweet there. Very kind and helps you choose your menu. We ordered two breakfast platters. Depending on which breakfast menu you choose, you will most likely to have eggs of your choice, bacon and/or sausage, hash browns and pancakes. Eggs. meat choices are hard to mess up, and i won't go in detail about this. Their hash browns are amazing, yet very greasy. I love how they keep the outer layer extra crispy. But again, your plate will come out with a layer of oil. My favorite is their pancakes. Its extra fluffy. Doesn't require a lot of syrup. It is amazing!! She ordered come blueberry pancake thing and I got some Gouda bacon burger with NO TOMATOS. It came out. It looked like shit. Meat was all choppy looking, barely any toppings i.e sauteed onions. As I went to try and bite into it. My mom pushed the burger out of my mouth reach and said "THERE'S TOMATOS". I dropped the burger and waited til my server eventually came back (I had to call her back finally). I looked her right in the eyes and go, "The reason I asked for no tomatoes, is because I am ALLERGIC.". Her only care was what the burger looked like, "oh and the burger looks choppy too". Fuck the way it looks. I almost had an allergic reaction for their negligence. So they offered to make a new one. This one came out. By this time, she had eaten all of her food but 1/4 of her pancakes. She even stopped eating to try and make me not feel bad for boxing up my food cuz she was done. I told them to bring a box. Manager kid came by for a split second to make sure I was ok with the new burger. Didn't really care that she almost nixed my life. Now I'm not one for hand outs. At all. But we got the bill, full price. No discount. No offer of one either. YOU PLAYED RUSSIAN ROULETTE WITH MY LIFE AND YOU COULDNT EVEN GIVE ENOUGH SERVICE TO EVEN SHOW A HINT OF CARE BY AT LEAST GIVING 1% DISCOUNT!!!!!!! So moral of the story.
