Absolutely the worst Denny's we have ever visited. The meal was inedible, everyone working there admitted that the kitchen was having serious problems. The manager said the best he could do was a 10% discount on food that was uncooked, and still frozen on the inside. We simply couldn't eat it. We waited more than half an hour and they still couldn't make the replacement. This is the most mismanaged restaurant of any kind we ever visited. The cashier admitted that everyone was complaining that day. The people behind us also had to pay for a meal that couldn't be eaten. Denny's corporate office seriously needs to provide some oversight at this location, it's a blight on the Denny's brand. If you are serving food that none of your customers can eat maybe it's time to close the kitchen, and fix the problem, before the Board of Health does it for you. Shameful operation. I have been going to this Dennys for over 10 years now and it has always been just average, you know a typical chain restaurant. Today however was the best service and food quality we have ever had! Most Denny's is either hit or miss. My wife and I went twice this week. The staff was very friendly and treated us like we've been going there for years. Our last visit was great. Normally I don't care for lemon automatically put in my tea and they actually asked my preference. That was a huge shocker. We sat near the kitchen and got to listen to the staff. They all seemed happy and enjoying their work. One is a Mystery Science 3000 fan and I am as well. OK on with the food. It was great! My wife had a beef stew and I had the spaghetti and meatballs. Both were top notch. Great size portion. Taste and quality were as good as a big dollar restaurant. I also liked that my iced tea never went empty. I kept getting refills without having to ask. The previous stop was good as well. Looking at some of the reviews, they must have improved. I noticed that they survey now which means that they are listening to their feedback and got better. Initially there was an issue with door dash and being able to get through on the phone to the restaurant. However, today, Denny's got in contact with me and made arrangements to fix the issue with my previous orders. Jessie was of great help. Fixed everything wrong and made it right, in a very above and beyond way. Really, did great and listened to what I had to say. Remained polite and calm through the entire ordeal. Would not even accept a tip for delivery. My recommendation is to just pick up your food if you have the option. Do not rely on doordash at this point in time, as there is a difference in how they run things, versus how Denny's handles them. If there is an issue with your order, it takes a lot of hoop jumping to fix, if you use doordash through the restaurants own website. Pick up will be less of a headache for everyone involved. read more

Worst Dennys I have ever been to. When being seated instead of being brought to our table the manager just pointed. She didnt say a word and just kept signaling with her finger. She took our order without writing anything down and consequently messed up all of orders. To top it off while eating our meal another waiter came up trying to sell us raffle tickets and asking us for cash donations. Do not go here. You are better off supporting one of the smaller family owned restaurants in town. read more

The primary attraction of chain restaurants is their reliability, their ability to replicate the same experience, no matter where they are. McDonalds outlets in Honduras and Germany and Mexico are eerily similar to McDonalds in Anytown, USA. Until I tried the Show Low Denny's I had never had a bad dining experience at a Denny's. The food was good, no problem with that. We didn't see any staff wearing masks. We asked our server if she was vaccinated, no she doesn't believe in it, we asked the gentleman who delivered our food if he was vaccinate and same answer, he doesn't believe in it. We know this is a locally owned location and they can set their own rules, but why wouldn't you at least require your unvaccinated employees to wear a mask to protect your patrons. Needless to say we will never return there. We will take our business to an establishment that values their employees as well as their patrons. read more

3/6/21 Where do I even start. Should I start where I waited over 10 minutes to be sat before I went around to the booths and was told "wait over there to be sat and we will be with you shortly". I thought hmm how long will this take. Well it was another 10 minutes again. When I was sat by the manager and I use the word manager very very loosely he asked if I had words for him. Puzzled I answered no what do you mean and he said nothing back. When he sat us he just put menus in front of us and walked away. After about 15 minutes a server finally came by to get drink order and I order some hush puppies to start with. They came out looking and smelling delicious. I thought to myself ok maybe the service will be getting better. WRONG. After hush puppies came out we sat there looking at them with no utensils to use or napkins. After roughly 10 min she came over to get our order and said "boy you have not even tried your hush puppies" so I said well we don't have utensils or napkins. She acted so surprised and said the person who sat you should have brought them. I said well that was the manager and she just walked away. Ok let's get to the food. I order the French toast meal with eggs. I asked for 2 bacon instead of one bacon and one sausage. Well I was charger for a extra side of tiny little burnt bacon. $2.00. What a joke. My friend ordered the double berry pancakes meal. I'm sure u can guess by now it was wrong also. What they got was pancakes. No berries. When asked where the fruit was we got the eye roll. To end this from beginning to end service and food were horrible. Wish a IHOP would come up or another restaurant stayed open later. Will never ever eat here again. After reading other reviews I should have known better. Don't be like me and try for yourself. Save your money and frustration and eat at home or order a pizza. read more

Twice we've been at Denny's in Show Low and both times we've been seated by Shayla - both times in the back! This woman has a thing about seating minorities in the front where they can be seen - she would rather seat them in the back where the seats in the booths are ripped up, among other minorities - Native Americans, Mexicans, etc. I was so angry I confronted her about it - but she denied - big eyed, no she would never do that! You just did. Twice. I wrote a letter to the corporation after the 2nd time - it's a lawsuit waiting to happen. Denny's would do better by putting her in the back - washing dishes! The 2nd time we were there; she complained loudly to her co-workers and in earshot of customers in the front booth and counter about me! I told my husband in a voice she could hear that she was a loud mouth. BTW, I wouldn't have gone back the 2nd time if our fav restaurant was still closed - Aunt Nancy's. Before these two incidents; we liked to eat at Denny's - the food was good most of the time; especially breakfast at 10 pm. But this experience with this person has left a sour taste in our mouths and we are not going to let this go without Denny's Corporate office know what happened twice! read more

We just had a wonderful lunch at Dennys. Our waiter Ryan was attentive, cheerful, and quick. He was especially sweet to my young daughter, and helped her open her new unicorn toy. My daughter liked the kids menu spaghetti and I had the cheese steak sandwich it was very good. First I waited at least 5 minutes to be seated. There was no hostess and the waiters would make eye contact, seeing me waiting to be seated and ignore me. I should have left then. I finally got seated and ordered. My eggs weren't even cooked how I had asked. I never saw my waiter again after my food came. She didn't ask how anything was, never refilled my drink which sat empty for at least 20 minutes. When I finished I had stacked everything so she would know I was clearly ready for my check. Came in for dinner on a Sunday and was greeted by Anthony our server. He is a delight, friendly and so ever accommodating. I had a 55 Plus breakfast and my gal a waffle breakfast. Although she didn't order strawberries he was nice enough to come back w a dish of the glaze as well as fresh strawberries. What a guy! Both meals were fine. This place is on SLOWMOTION. I have came here 3 times now and it seems like each time they take longer and longer. Seating time is about 5-10 min even if there are only a couple customers. Our waitress had no front teeth, my husband found a hair baked into his eggs, there was some wrapper in my syrup cup, the restrooms were dirty, and the restaurant was filthy. The manager removed the one meal charge and offered us a free pie, but we didn't want anything more out of that kitchen. Bad even for a Denny's. What do you expect? it is Denny's. The food is fine (not great) and it takes at least 30 minutes to get your food (it doesn't seem to matter how many people are in it). Wow! It's Labor Day and the holiday tourists (which we are also) have crowded this community and all the restaurants. From first impression, it looked like we would be waiting 20 to 30 minutes, but in 10 minutes we were seated! That was impressive actually because this is the smallest Denny's I have ever seen, and I have been to many all over this country. They do have a small 4 seater counter that would have been nice to have been told about when we first went in, but oh well. The service for this crowd was absolutely fantastic. They had a lot of servers on the floor to provide very efficient service. I really appreciated that. So from the time we walked in to the time we got our food was only 35 minutes, and part of that was our own fault for twice wanting extra time to read the menu. The food was wonderful too. Everything was cooked almost perfectly and just exactly as ordered. The only food issue, though I did not make an issue of it, was that my sausage links were way over cooked on one side. That was it. There were people bussing tables, which you hardly ever see much any more. Coffee stayed topped off, which is another rarity in most places. The whole place was clean and I found nothing to complain about (and I am a very critical person). This is the best Denny's I have ever visited when it comes to service and food preparation. I will be going onto the corporate site to tell them so too. I was extremely pleased! (By the way, this is not someone posting a bloating review. This Denny's is so slow that we waited 15 minutes to be seated and walked out because no one came to the front. The worst part was that it wasn't even busy. This is the second time this has happened. Also, if you want a healthy meal don't come here. I ordered the salmon and brown rice and the entire plate was saturated in butter. I said something to the morning female manager and she just blew it off. Horrible manager and horrible service. read more

Your typical Denny's....from 1970. Needs upgrade, new tables, etc. Food was OK, just like any other Denny's in America, same menu, same service. But this has got to be one of the oldest worn out Denny's I've been to when traveling across the USA. read more
