What a disaster. We left Beaufort early and didn't want Hampton Inn breakfast so we decided to get something quick on the road off I-95. Needless to say, if you're familiar with the area, there isn't much to choose from off I-95 between the Georgia state line and Florence. We did see this Denny's and decided to give it a try. It's right next door to a Pilot Travel Center. Typical Denny's decorations. Bad idea coming here. We waited over forty minutes because the cooks decided to prioritize a table of eleven over everyone else in the restaurant. We saw at least one table walk out. When the food finally made it to the table, my wife's French Toast was barely warm and the grits I ordered with my omelette was replaced with dry hash browns. Also, my omelette was somewhat dry. Would be a one star review but the extra star is for the nice server and hostess. Definitely don't recommend. read more

I took my family for breakfast at this Denny's location and let me tell you about our experience : We were greeted and seated by an older lady, who was extremely pleasant and attentive. The service was fast. We received our food within 10 minutes. The food was delicious. Every order we had placed was on point. the service was phenomenal from start to end. For anyone that is looking for a good place to eat, I working most definitely recommend this place. Please disregard all the negative reviews. About 2 in the afternoon. Perhaps 4 couples in the restaurant. Sister and I were seated, given menus and asked what we wanted to drink. Not being a coke drinker, we chose 1/2 and 1/2 tea. (1/2 sweet, 1/2 non sweet). The tea was NOT half and half, but totally unsweetened. A server came by and said she would be our server. We waited over 1/2 hour and still no server came to take our order, Since we were very hungry, we decided to leave, as apparently our server was too busy playing on her phone to pay attention to potential diners. Sad experience just now....we always pick Dennys for breakfast when traveling....took an hour to get our food...eggs were very undercooked...( we ordered medium and over easy) ...which were replaced within a few minutes..the toast was not toast ..it was basically bread with liquid margarine....( we asked for dry toast with butter on the side) hubby asked for wheat ...got white...no biggy but service was super slow....clearly not enough help and was told a manager was the cook in the kitchen ....definitely needed more cooks, and more help period! Restrooms were a mess...dirty and overflowing trash (why is the tiniest trash can even in there? .. more trash on the floor than would ever fit in that tiny trash can...no paper towels in the men's .....long line of customers trying to check out.....long waits for people to be seated..... I don't even know where to start. First off, the server for our table was extremely nice, spoke is a nice tone and understood my non-English step-father very well. It's also really sweet that she brought goldfish for my brother while his food was being made. The drinks came out fast and I mean short-time getting the drinks for our table and the server was fast - more like running to our table WITHOUT spilling anything. The food was entirely different, nothing bad of course but the food was delicious. I ordered cinnamon pancakes to share with my cousin and I underestimated how big they were going to be. It was, huge for both of us to eat. Again nothing bad but if I had enough stomach space, I would eat it all. Had to get a To-Go box for it hah The restaurant itself look's so good on the inside. I normally except a Denny's to be small or just dirty on the inside but again I underestimated it. The just looked like a gourmet restaurant (in my opinion). But again the restaurant was inside a gas station so I was pretty surprised. I would normally leave a tip but I don't have a job since I'm a minor - but I would write this review as my tip. Last thing to say is that our server was pretty humorous since it was closing time and she locked the doors with us still eating. I can't recommend this Denny's. We were ignored upon arrival, except by the manager heading on break. She wished us a Happy Valentine's Day. We left but after realizing the next Denny's location was 90 miles away, we reluctantly returned. This time, we were seated quickly, but the food took forever. This however qualities really good I came in order to French toast slam it was very good French toast was delicious I asked for the eggs to be soft scrambled they were nice soft ands fluffy. I stopped at this Dennys on 7/06/25 and I will say the food could've been better, the hash brown were burnt they turkey bacon had a taste to it that was not fresh, I didn't like at all. I read all the previous reviews and I was shocked. They were all horrible but thankfully we had a completely different experience. We were seated immediately. They were short staffed but our server and the hostess were both hustling. We ordered the appetizer sampler and it tasted fresh and was hot (unlike the previous reviews of food coming out cold). . Our server (Reagan) was on point. She passed by several times to ask how our food was and to refill the water. I also ordered a super bird sandwich and it was good. Truthfully, I'm not a huge Dennys fan (the food is a bit too greasy for me) but since it was late and we were passing by we fueled up and ate without being too far from the highway. I watched while someone waited 15 minutes just to pay their bill. I, and other patrons could not order orange juice because their machine was broken. How smart do you have to be to call a friend and ask them to get you a few gallons of OJ from the supermarket? The hash browns would have been okay if they were not served cold. The eggs Benedict were the worst I have ever had. Eggs covered in a lumpy cheese sauce, eeech! I even had to wait 10 minutes for my coffee to be refilled. Start with I was seated and told the cook put a hold on orders. As I waited to have my order taken I noticed the cook wasn't doing anything. No clue why the hold. Other people ordered things that should have been in the kitchen yet the cook said no they didn't have it, like soup. This is on a Tuesday at 1:30pm. Stopped here on a road trip. Was sat fairly quickly. I ordered chicken fried steak with eggs over easy and a side of pancakes. After about 15 minutes, I received my hashbrowns and well over cooked eggs. After about five minutes, I then received my country fried steak on a separate plate. Although I asked for the gravy on the side, I received it another five minutes after the steak. The gravy looked and tasted like the bag was empty and they used the rinse water. The table next to us talked to what I assumed to be the manager, and they had left because they had not had their order taken for over a half an hour they only received their drinks. Food was not good at all, the tables and silverware, and the ambience of the place could use a good cleaning, and the food service needs to become more efficient. Beware! horrible service. Half of our family did not receive their food and the lady gave us so much attitude trying to blame it on us when they did not bring the food. She told us "listen I'm like a teacher talking to elementary students and I need you guys to go one by one" in the most condescending tone. I was so shocked I have never received treatment like this. Really poorly run restaurant. Avis is one of the waitresses and she's awesome! Otherwise food is hit or miss. The kitchen Manager is unprofessional and has no business cooking. I had one fly, that was part kamikaze, do a dive bomb on my pancakes with syrup. The service was ok, I saw one waitress constantly grazing, she seemed to enjoy whatever she was eating. So I asked why would the grill have hair on it? She cut me off and said I'll just remake it. Then walked off. I also placed a to go order without meat but with hash browns. She gave it to me with meat without hash browns. When I told her she opened it with her hands and said ok I'll fix it. She didn't close the cover and walked over to start talking to other customers. So I told her to close those top! I would've appreciated a sharper appearance as well. When I ordered my food, despite the service being a bit slow, the waitress Amber was a DELIGHT! Super friendly and willing to help however she could. The food was cheap and not bad at all! I got the 55+ omelete, my sister got the Country Fried Steak, my mom got the skillet, my sister got the burger and my dad got the soup! Oh with 2 sodas and a smoothie, the total came out to be only $50!! Whatta steal!
