I previously contacted Denny's corporate office regarding the disgusting hygiene violation I witnessed at your restaurant, where my waitress (star) failed to wash her hands before handling my food. I made it clear how unacceptable and unsafe this was, and I requested a refund. It has been 10 days since my complaint calling the restaurant and 8 days since my original email, and I have yet to receive the courtesy of a reply to rectify this situation. Your silence only adds to the disappointment I already feel toward your establishment. Ignoring a serious health and safety complaint is just as negligent as the incident itself. My husband & I ate at this Denny's this morning and when we paid the bill, the young woman at the register said we had given too much money, we explained it was a tip for Sheri E and the young woman at the register said that Sheri E would get it eventually... didn't she know that waitresses usually gets tipped by their customers?? Everything was done right. Seated promptly, drink and meal orders taken and food arrived good and hot. I ordered my favorite Moons Over My Hammy and my wife got the Philly Cheesesteak Omelet. My experience at Dennys is Usually good. BUT sometimes like today there's is a couple of waitresses with some serious attitude for no reason at all. The service here is pretty excellent. They have the same workers who work here at night, which is when I usually come, and they are very attentive and nice. The food is give or take depending on what you get. I always get the Classic Benny Breakfast and it's delicious! It's cozy too. The bathrooms are clean. I took my family out for dinner. I have to say that the wait staff was pretty good but the kitchen staff really messed up. When we ordered our food the kitchen staff forgot to make my son's dinner. We waited 20 minutes after we got our food and still no dinner for him .We didn't want him to eat alone so our food of course got cold. We all ended up taking it to go so we could reheat at home.I asked for the manager when she came over she told us that she took his dinner off the bill and gave us 20% off the rest of the bill. I've been to this location a handful of times now since they opened. I have to say, it's been consistently mediocre. Waitstaff is always.. ALWAYS nice. Thats about it however. The food takes a while, cleanliness could be better (its not bad, but could be better), and the food itself is.. well.. Denny's food. Most recently I got the country fried steak and eggs. The steak was rubbery, they forgot to give me toast, and the hashbrowns weren't well seasoned either. On a previous trip I got pancakes, they took a while and came out lukewarm.. and they were.. ok. It's hard to make a bad pancake, but I've had better. I keep trying Denny's because my wife has told me we've just caught it on bad times, but every time I've gone it's been a weekend visit during "normal" hours, Im just at the point where if I want a good breakfast I'm going elsewhere. read more

This place is horrible as far as waitresses. There are three very good waitresses however if you have horrible luck, you are doomed to be there for a hour for a drink and then another hour for your food. No customer service. And the manager has no a clue of how to run a restaurant apparently. If your looking to spend a whole Sunday in Denny's. Then the Denny's in Pittston is your place to be. read more

Well to start off it was a bad experience from the beginning. Was busy but, seemed they had enough help for the rush. We were seated and given menus. About 15 minutes later a waitress came and gave napkins to us and we haven't even had our drink order taken yet. Then asked if she was our waitress she said she is now ours picked up another table. So, I say this if you work on tips in customer service you would think you put on that smile and want to make the customer happy. Not here seems they are more about making jokes and having a fun time in the back. It's bad when a few tables sit after you and get there entire meal before you order drinks. Then to top it off you order appetizers and when they come after your meal and she tells you they sat there and didn't know they were done is not a good thing. Yes they were cold and sauce was as well. Not a great experience that's for sure. And seems if there was any manager on duty that night they couldn't be seen or in control that's for sure. I also work in the food service industry so I understand this happens, but it's consistent here. The staff never apologizes for the long waits or lack of attention either. Service was very very slow, took a very long time to get our food. Food was ok but we had empty salt shaker, and about 1 tbsp of ketchup on our table. We grabbed both from the table next to us and they were empty too! I know, it seems hard to believe but the were all empty. 10-11a in the morning. No straws with our drinks, son asked for lemon water, no lemon came. Petty little thing, I know, but they ruin the experience. I vowed to not return to this awful excuse for a Denny's, but it was my partner's birthday and we wanted to take advantage of the "free birthday breakfast". We went late Sunday morning, and as usual, it was packed. We chose to sit at the counter. There were tons of tables available and the help scurrying around, yet still, the long wait. Our waiter was a young man and he was delightful, respectful and very quick. I had a grand slam with eggs, hash browns and pancakes and my partner had the same, but with a cup of coffee. I tasted his coffee and knew why I didn't order one. It was stale tasting and weak. My breakfast was served hot, but the hash browns were swimming in the fake butter oil, the eggs were barely cooked so when you cut into it the white oozed out like mucous. The pancakes were, well, pancakes, but not good. They were not light and fluffy but rather tough and the syrup was horrible. Cheap, thick flavored syrup. Well, you get what you pay for I guess. Not that I expected a fabulous breakfast, I mean, it is Dennys, but why do they have a habit of asking at the time you check out and pay, "how was everything"? I responded truthfully and told the girl - not very good. She looked at me but made no response or comment. Then I asked her, why do you ask that if you are not going to comment and she said, she didn't know. Again, it's Denny's. Gone are the days where this place had a great reputation, at least in this location. They were horrible when the first opened, poorly managed I believe, and they don't seem to have improved. I mean, I understand that things happen, but at the end of the day, when you are asked how everything was and you give honest feedback, wouldn't you think the thing to do would be for the manager to come out to visit you and see how they could make things right? Perhaps offer you a coupon to come back, or take something off your bill? Just the gesture makes for great customer relationship. read more

If I could write this review without adding a 1 Star I would. Let me start off by stating that this particular Denny's was my favorite spot up until today. I dined in for the 1st time && wasn't so pleased with their service. Long story short , ordered a cup of coffee & noticed a fresh set of lipstick on the cup. I informed the server of the situation but was still charged for their inconvenience (bad for business). So many different things were going through my head. ...Before paying my bill I asked to speak with management whom apologized repeatedly. She removed the coffee charge off my bill but I still felt as though she was not concerned about Customer Satisfaction , she was more concerned if the server brought out a new cup of coffee which was at my least of concerns. I did not drink the 1st nor 2nd cup - I was more concerned about how do a business / food industry make such a trackable mistake. It shows the lack in service && customer experience. We decided to give this Denny's once last chance, since we ate there twice since they opened, the last time being several months ago and it was terrible service, lacklusture foid, etc. It has vastly improved. Don't know if better cooks, better waitress or what, but we didn't have a long wait to place our order or to receive our food and it was hot. Terrible service...long waits. This restaurant opened in September 2016 and our first visit was about two weeks after the opening. Service was slow but we thought we would give them a chance since they were new. Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon in November for dinner and were immediatrlt seated. However, waited for 15 minutes and no one ever came to the table to wait on us. Several other people we're seated and waited on and still no one came to take even our drink order. We spoke with the hostess who was surprised that we hadn't been waited on but never did anything to see where our waitress was. We decided to leave and asked to speak with a manager. The manager was rude and condescending and didn't really care whether we left or stayed. We went down the road to the Denny's in Wilkes-Barre where we always receive excellent food and great service. This Denny's is horrible. It took them 15 minutes for someone to come to our table and ask if we wanted drinks, and no apology for the wait. It was dead in the place so you cant blame the service on it being busy because it wasn't. Our appetizer took thirty minutes for chips and salsa and another 20 minutes for a waffle and some eggs. No apology from staff, and waitress was rude. I will never go back to this location. Go to the Denny's in Wilkes-Barre or Scranton instead because both are better. Went here on the 4th of July. Convenient location off the highway. Newer restaurant, which seemed nice. However, clearly they had the B team working for the holiday. We were greeted and seated right away. The waitress was nice enough but seemed very annoyed. The food was not great. I usually order some type of skillet at Denny's. This skillet was not good. Literally half of the skillet was empty, meaning they only decided to cook half the food that the dish normally comes with. I paid full price for half of the amount of not-so-stellar food. This location will do in a pinch, especially if nowhere else is open. Although, I wouldn't seek this location out. read more
