We stopped at Denny's near Great Wolf Lodge, and you can literally see it from the Great Wolf parking lot, which made it a super convenient choice. This was actually my first time ever eating at a Denny's, so I went in curious to see what the experience would be like. First impressions: the parking lot could definitely use a little TLC, and the exterior of the building looks like it has seen a lot of years and a lot of travelers passing through. That said, when we arrived on a Tuesday morning the place was surprisingly busy, which is usually a good sign for a breakfast spot. Walking inside, the restaurant had that classic old-school diner feel. You could tell the place has been around for a while. The interior could probably benefit from some fresh paint and a little updating, but it also had that nostalgic charm that diners sometimes have. It wasn't dirty at all--in fact it was clean overall--but everything felt a bit worn and dated. At one point I even noticed one of the registers was missing the credit card scanner, which gave the whole setup a slightly "held together with experience" vibe. My wife even joked that the place made her a little nervous and said she might prefer Waffle House instead--which is saying something! But we decided to stick it out and give it a fair try. And honestly, we're really glad we did. We went all in on the breakfast menu. I ordered the Lumberjack Slam, which is basically the "everything possible on one plate" breakfast. My wife ordered a breakfast burrito, and the kids went with pancakes and a waffle. The food ended up being surprisingly great. The coffee was excellent--exactly what you want from a diner: hot, strong, and constantly refilled. The pancakes were actually better than the ones we've had at IHOP, which was a pleasant surprise. Everything else on the Lumberjack Slam was solid too. Bacon and eggs are hard to mess up, but they were cooked well. The sausage links were great, and the ham was fantastic--a really nice, thick slice that stood out compared to typical diner portions. The real surprise of the meal, though, was the waffle the kids ordered. It was absolutely amazing. Somehow it was crispy and soft at the same time, and it had a subtle sweetness to it that made it stand out. Honestly, it's easily one of the top two waffles I've ever had, which is not something I expected to say walking into a random diner. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and they kept everything running smoothly even with the restaurant being fairly busy. They also did a good job keeping the dining area clean and organized. So overall, here's the honest takeaway: The building definitely shows its age and could use some updating, but the place is clean, the staff is friendly, and the food was genuinely excellent. Sometimes the most unassuming diners end up serving the best breakfasts, and this felt like one of those situations. I'm from NYC , stayed at Great Wolf Lodge for The Weeknd, I didn't want to pay for GWL breakfast plan , went to Denny's for mid breakfast on a busy Sunday and saved more by going there. Our waiter with the Baltimore Ravens was friendly , polite , with a good spirit greeted us and make sure everything g was alright with our meal. Our meal was delicious, the lumber jack slam, and the ultimate omelette. The place was packed with ppl so the noise was average but the food came out fast. Plenty of parking in front. read more

Haven't been to a Denny's in decades, but we were on a road trip, and it was not a drive through. The place was clean, server was friendly, and the food came out quickly. Today me, my wife, my son and grand daughter came to Dennys to have a late breakfast. Just came from Great Wolf. We were seated in the left side of the restaurant next to last booth. The lady with the blond hair and a black mask was the waitress. Wish I would have gotten her name being she never introduced herself as our waitress. We ordered 2 waters , a tropical green smoothie and a kids sweet tea. Shortly after we placed our order and my wife asked for another straw for her smoothie because the one given was no good and that was when we got the first little attitude from her when she barely allowed my wife to tell her the straw was no good before she stated they are all the same straws but came back with a different straw which was the one that should have been given with the smoothie and not the regular paper straw for regular drinks. After this there were three other couples that arrived after us and were all served before us while we sat waiting patiently for our food. We were there for thirty minutes and she never came to say anything to us about where our food was or we will be served shortly never looked our way. I asked the waitress why we had not received our food as of yet. She said our ticket had been dropped on the floor and over looked and that they will be making it this was after 30 minutes or more of waiting for with no one saying anything I then proceeded to the front and asked for the manager and was told the manager was at the bank by another waitress. Our waitress came out and said "I m sick of this and began getting rude. There was no need for all the aggression especially since we waited 30 minutes or with no food no nothing not even a word. I don't want to say she was racist but this is the vibe that she was giving from the time we sat at the table but I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt until I noticed her serve and attend to all three of the couples who were Caucasian as was the waitress. She had a very pleasant attitude even asking them was every thing ok .The most upsetting thing that was explaining to my grand daughter why we left without eating. It took 30 minutes just to get water and another 30 minutes to get milkshakes. After one hour, we finally got some appetizers and they didn't even start cooking the steak. So decided to drive to this Denny's in Perryville for a change of pace from the a Edgewood one (which is closer to me) and I truly enjoyed the menu. I ordered the banana cream and salted caramel pancakes with scrambled eggs and red potatoes . The potatoes were perfectly salty and the pancakes were like cake and frosting. It was delicious. This place is disgusting, I literally observed one waitress cough over a open lid strawberry smoothie before it was blended. I witness the hostess cough in her hand then proceed to grab the lid of the cup and serve to the customer's. The cooks were sharing drinks on with one the hostess while cooking. Food Allergy Review: I have celiac disease and used my Nima gluten tester while at this restaurant. I ordered a make your own grand slam of eggs, bacon, sausage, and hash browns. Everything tested gluten free which is great. I am visiting family here and it can be hard to find gluten free food to eat when traveling, especially in the middle of nowhere. The food was meh, it's Denny's. Not great. But I'm impressed they kept it all gluten free and for that I am thankful. The staff were friendly and helpful. We stepped in as weary travelers after 2 hours of rain on the toad to NJ. Even as the place was busy, the hostess Amelia graciously cleaned and set up a both for us. This is America's diner and I felt at home, as our waitress Kerri was hollering and trying to get the front of house in line with the back of house, with the orders and making sure the coffee urns were filled. Reminded me of the greasy spoons back home. We ordered diet cokes and bacon American cheese burgers, and Kerri had the wheels to bring them over, refill our drinks...and manage half the tables sitting. We had stopped going here for dinner because service was sooooo slow. I decided to give it another chance and went there for dinner one night this week. We ordered a salad first because dinner was slow coming out in the past. The salad came right out and it was crispy and fresh. Our meals arrived very quickly and they were piping hot. Our server, Dominique, was spectacular. She got all our requests right and checked with us from time to time to be sure we had all we needed. This was the worst dining experience my friends and I have ever had. The "iced coffee" was extremely watered down, when my friend asked for tea they gave her decaffeinated without mentioning it. My juice was served straight out of the jug. The food had the smallest portions I have ever seen, especially for a diner. And it wasn't even good. Two of my friends ordered meals with chorizo, which they were out of (and didn't tell us). When we asked about the lack of chorizo, our waitress didn't even know what chorizo was. After asking several times to speak to the manager and having our waitress come out and say that she was "being a royal bitch" and refuses to talk to us, we had to actually call into the restaurant from our seats to get her to come out and talk to us. The manager gave us a huge attitude and only gave my friend 20% off after all of this. The waitress had no idea what she was doing, the service was horrible, and extremely unprofessional. My fiance and I love this place! We go here all the time at all hours of the day. We always get wonderful food. Certain staff Members work harder then others which is a shame, but I guess that's every job. We've always had exceptionally good service. The new look is definitely a plus!
