Haven't been here in a year and sadly was quite disappointed. The salad bar had bad brown lettuce and slimey cucumbers. There wasn't much for the selection on the salad bar to begin with. The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because of the lady at register got a serious attitude with me when I mentioned that I was not willing to pay the surcharge from using a credit card that they wanted the consumer to pay. She stated that she was not in the mood to argue and she wasn't in the authority to make decisions. She then slammed the receipt and pen on the counter. On the way out the door I told her to have a good blessed day and she grunted very loudly. As a consumer I know we do not have to pay the merchants credit card fee. The server deserves a better tip. Its a diner environment with typical diner food, but I actually enjoyed the meal and service here. Came here for breakfast and ordered the waffle combo. The sausage patties, spicy sausage, and ham were surprisingly good, some of the best I've had. The hash and eggs needs some seasoning, but nothing salt and pepper can't help with a bit. We had two toddlers in our party of 7 and needed a place that would accommodate kids and vegetarians - and this was a great place for us. Good service and good prices - They sat us in a large room at the back where another party with a toddler was - so the kids could fun around and be loud and not bother anyone, clean restrooms nearby. Small salad bar but good servings, considering my entree was $23 for salad bar, 2 sides, the fish, and also bread for the table. My toddler loved the sides (esp the French fries!) and fish - the broccoli was a bit small but all in all, a good price for the area and what we needed. Their breakfasts are reliably good--omelets, slightly-crispy home fries, eggs cooked to order, etc, but it's the service that keeps us coming back. That was the blandest food I've had at a restaurant. Got the calamari for an app. Became halfway decent with a crapton of salt and pepper. Then I ordered the quesadilla burger. I think the only thing that gave it flavor was bacon and cheese. Husband asked for meat cheese and mayo sandwich. Came without mayo and had to ask for it. Husband's sister asked for mayo and pickles on her sandwich. And ended up getting charged for freaking lettuce when she didn't ask for it. Lettuce is dirt cheap. I understand food costs but she didn't even ask for it. Overall a very unwelcoming atmosphere. Server was awkward and needs a little more training. And during our dining experience they start using the vacuum, and not the quiet kind the loud kind. Please just do yourself a favor and skip that exit. Brought the family here after a day trip to PA. We were there around 2:30-3, so it wasn't very busy, a few booths sat, and a private event in a room off the main dining room. I think there is a bar/lounge area off to the right, but I didn't really investigate. Bathrooms were clean and down a hallway, away from the dining area. They offer a salad bar, which I really like and is almost impossible to find anymore. Unfortunately, it's pretty limited, but my husband and I were able to make decent side salads for before our entrees. All four of us were happy with our food, large portions (much of this came home to eat later ) that were all hot, prepared properly and tasted good. Between our family we had a steak, crab cake, fried shrimp, bbq ribs, and chicken teriyaki. Mashed potatoes and gravy were tasty, fries crispy, and two out of three of us liked the green beans. The corn was blah, wouldn't order again. The chicken teriyaki came over rice and had big slices of chicken and vegetables in a not-too-sweet-but-sweet-enough teriyaki sauce. Creamy Potato soup was good, my son scarfed it down and my daughter was happy with the chicken noodle. Server was pleasant and accurate. Attentive to our needs and on the drink refills. Spoke just enough to be friendly, but didn't linger at the table- I like that. I was known by all the waitresses, I would get my coffee and water with a lemon before I asked. I have just been kicked out by a new manager, someone I have never seen before, simply because I sent back coffee where I found dried coffee stains on the side of the cup. I am assuming The Chesapeake Grill is now under new management, it is already going downhill... This manager tried to convince me it was a stain made when the coffee was poured. I strongly disagreed to which he said "you don't have to drink it." I was then told I could leave. I could also hear him call me a derogatory name as I was leaving the main dining room. As a minority, retired Air Force Colonel & business owner, I am being thrown out by someone with a thick Greek accent who talks to me like I have no value as a human-being simply because I pointed out I was being served coffee in a dirty cup. read more

I came here on a Sunday morning for a quick breakfast with friends. Firstly, we had a 15 minute wait which wasn't terrible but it was also unexpected. The waiting area was small so servers kept rushing back and forth and the guests waiting were all crammed in the front. I ordered the chocolate chip pancakes and a side of home fries. The chocolate chip pancakes were very good! Definitely the highlight of the meal (even though one was a little burnt). The ordered the steak, medium rare, and it was over done. Not to mention it was riddled with fat. Unfortunately, I was not impressed. My friend got the chicken strips and they were rather bland.
