This review is based on take out experience only. Online ordering is a snap! The online menu is organized, very detailed and easy to read. You can prepay or pay at pickup. The entrance is on the side of the building. It was very busy with dine-in customers. I had ordered the seafood platter which includes two sides of your choice, along with tartar and cocktail sauces. It was neatly packaged and came with utensils and napkins. High marks for not using styrofoam. The food was ready at the promised time. The waitress who rang up our order was friendly. Even though it took about 10 minutes to get home after picking up my order, the food was still warm and the breaded items still had a crispy texture. The portion size was enough for two adults who aren't completely starving to share. I would have liked it if the platter included a couple lemon slices. I'll be sure to ask the next time. I'm glad this locally-owned eatery survived the dismal pandemic and is up and running, and hopefully thriving once again! read more

Used to be our "go to" diner for old fashioned comfort food. Went there recently for dinner and our experience was not what we expected. To begin with there was only one waitress to cover the entire dining room of half a dozen customers.. obviously service was slow, although she was doing her best. But she spoke so loud that one could hear what every patron ordered in the entire dining room. We both ordered the Cajun pork chops with two sides. The pork chops were tough and dry. All condiments, including butter, salad dressing, and sour cream came in tiny plastic packets, which required peeling the top off to find the tiniest amount. I will be going back in the future only for breakfast, but not for lunch or dinner. read more

Classic diner with lots of Baltimore Oriole pride throughout. Plenty of parking & seating. There's 2 seating areas, both with tables & chairs. One does have a bar area to sit & get service for people in groups of 1-2. There is literally Orioles memorabilia on every surface. They even have bats as a room divider. Terrific place to get some good historical information from the many articles, pictures, & other things. A great conversation starter as well for your party to discuss while eating. They have a typical diner menu with lots of options. They even have a 60 & over selection which is great to see. They serve breakfast, lunch, & dinner. There is a special board as you walk in so check it out before seating yourself. We ordered the liver & onions, and a Grilled Chicken w/ham & cheese on top. Both came with 2 sides. We did get the sweet potato fries & they were very yummy!!! They were both tasty. You do get lots of food for the price. Super reasonable prices for the portions! They do have desserts in a case that look super tempting & I am sure they taste just as wonderful as they look. We didn't have any room. Service was good. You can tell that this is a popular place for locals. Some knew the waitstaff as they came in. They are friendly & helpful. Would for sure come back again when craving diner vibes & grub! read more

A pretty legit breakfast spot for a small town on your way to the airport off of 95. The restaurant is clean and the breakfast is good. Home style cooking that your mom would make for Sunday breakfast. The service is great, the coffee is flowing and friendly and quick service for somebody with things to do and places to go. read more

Nice diner with a baseball theme. Prompt friendly service. My eggs were delivered just like I ordered them. The biscuits were fresh and home made but not my favorite. Five stars for me! I love mom and pop "joints" with simple food, prepared well, and at a good price. My mom brought me here for dinner one afternoon when I was visiting town. There were lots of menu items that caught my attention, but I opted for the Hot Roast Beef Sandwich with fries, about $9.00. The roast beef was served with two slices of white bread (one on the top, one on the bottom), smothered in lots of brown gravy. Very tasty and filling. Our server was very contentious. Nothing fancy about The Ballpark, just good food. Lots of old Orioles and Ravens memorabilia for the Baltimore sports enthusiast. Highly recommend. read more

Breakfast good, dinner really pretty bad. Ordered fried chicken. Came out red and bloody in the middle. When we called the server over I tried to hand the plate to her and she picked up the chicken off my plate and set it on a napkin she had in her other hand and walked away saying "usually when this happens it's just the big pieces". 10 minutes later she comes back with the same chicken pieces, punched full of large holes and hard as a rock and dripping grease (how's that possible?). Then for the rest of our stay she was rude. A $3 tip was reeeaallly more tip than she was worth On a $24 meal. I've been there about 3-4 times for breakfast and lunch and recommended this place to others who have gone there for breakfast. It was good. Good food, happy workers, all good. Can't imagine how it flipped to so bad food and grumpy rude server for dinner. read more

To be fair I've only tried this place one time. My mother was visiting and because this place was close to where I live I thought I would take her there to try her first crab cake. We ordered the crab cakes and I was so disappointed. Unfortunately, I've never given it another chance to try other food. When you live in Maryland the one thing you should depend on is a great crab cake if it's on the menu. read more

Stopped at this place after a long hike at Conowingo Fisherman's Park. Not many places to eat around these parts so finding this place was a blessing. They have 5 new picnic tables outside under a huge cover in the parking lot. The servers all wore masks and brought out menus. We ordered the single crab cake platter with coleslaw, fries and unsweetened ice tea. I asked the server and she said sweet Ice tea is very sweet. Our food came out pretty quick and it was hot. The crab cake was roughly 5 ounces of deliciousness. I had fried crab cake and my wife had the broiled crab cake. The crab cakes were both well seasoned and filled with lots of sweet crab. The fries were fresh but not seasoned with any salt. The coleslaw was a little too sweet. Reminded me of KFC's coleslaw. Too much sugar and not enough vinegar. These were little things nothing major. The servers were super nice and I'm so glad we stopped here. This was the perfect place to eat and unwind. read more

Returning to Baltimore from Valley Forge, PA, we crossed the Conowingo Dam and stopped for lunch. This Is obviously a local favorite; the waitresses were greeting all other customers by name. The decore is a tribute to all Maryland sports teams over the past 70 years (framed John Unitas jersey; an entire wall dedicated to Cal Ripken). They offer a very good Maryland style crab cake, very little filler and good flavor. My husbands French fries were also very good. The green beans were served hot, but they were unenhanced canned green beans. The coleslaw was too sweet for me; but other people love sweet coleslaw. If you are traveling Rt.1, this is a good stop. read more

Ballpark is always reliable. The food isn't great or bad, but reliable and the prices are good. Our favorite is the hot roast beef and either F. F 's or mashed potatoes. It's always plenty to eat and good. The hostess is always sweet and efficient. Usually at breakfast time the foods ok and service is sorta slow. In our continuing quest for decent and interesting places to eat along remote stretches of Rt. 1, we decided to check out the Ball Park Cafe. It's a little bitty place all done up in Oriole orange, has lots of sports memorabilia on the walls including about one whole wall dedicated to area resident and baseball legend Cal Ripken, which was pretty neat to see. Also some Colts and Ravens stuff for good measure (a Unitas framed jersey). Their fried oysters and homemade crab cakes, both of which come as either a sandwich or a platter, were A-OK. I think Cal would approve. If you're not into oysters or crab cakes, they also have many other typical diner choices available. But y'know, I can get a burger any ol' place, but am always thrilled to find a new crab cake stop off the beaten path, where I don't have to fight the traffic and pay Baltimore parking prices to get one. The only thing that seemed a little off was that they put a huge dish of butter pats on every table, but then didn't serve us any bread with the dinner plates. I don't think this was a server mistake as I didn't see the other tables getting any either. I probably don't need the extra calories from bread, but it made me wonder what all that butter was for. Maybe the bread truck just forgot to stop the day we ate there. read more

Walked in and sat right down at the counter. As a die-hard Baltimore sports fan I found the decor awesome! I ordered a bowl of cream of crab soup and it was good. I've had better, but for the price I have no complaints about it. My complaint lies with the service. My waitress asked me if I was ready to order after I ate my soup, I said yes, and she said, "Give me one minute." She delivered the check to and chit-chatted with a table about 20 feet from me. She hovered and waited for them to figure out the check, headed to the register, went back to them, and chatted some more. Then she went back to the kitchen again, came out, looked right at me, but headed in the opposite direction. I saw her walk back into the kitchen 3 more times and looked right at at least 3 more wait staff over the course of about 15 minutes before I threw $10 on the table and headed for the door. I ran into my waitress near the door and she didn't say a word. I'd heard good things about this place and was looking forward to a crabcake platter, but I had no idea how long it was going to take for my order to be taken let alone my food to be served. As a local, I'm glad to have ruled out The Ball Park and I'm happy to take my dining out business to Wargo's, Tamberino's, The Hickory Lodge, and The Jarrettsville Pit where they actually appreciate and respect their customers. read more

THE FOOD WAS GOOD, I DID NOT LIKE OUR SERVER. The food was great as usual, the staff was excellent as usual, they left a wonderful taste in my mouth, all except one. Crystal was working whilst i was dining and i'm not sure if she is new or if she just does not care but either way, she does not act like she wants to be there. There were multiple instances of her avoiding work, i had to get different servers to grant my requests as she was nowhere to be seen during about a half of my meal. When she was present, she was frequently on her phone behind the counter rather than helping her clearly irritated customers. I don't like to assume the worst out of people however it seemed as though she was "nodding" off at the register when she was checking a table out. I have been a regular here for seventeen years now and this young lady has most definitely changed that. I feel as though i have gotten better service at the Mcdonald's drive through. Crystal is the absolute worst worker i have seen in the building in all my time coming, i will absolutely be asking for anyone but her if i decide to come in again. read more

I've had many people from out of the state come visit me and they will ask me "What is the best place to have a nice family fun dinner?" I always say ballpark I've been going to this restaurant since I was born, In fact my grandmother use to work there!! It's like my home away from home, Plus all the football and baseball Posters gifts and Cards there are very fun to look at. Every-time I go there I actually put away my phone and headphones and talk to people, that's a lot for me(Someone with bad anxiety) And I end up leaving with a Huge smile on my face.
