My boyfriend and I came for dinner. It was so busy, hard to find parking. We waited over 40 minutes to be seated which was fine and expected on a nice day. They have crab is just about everything as people from Maryland love, but I am not too crazy about it. I wanted the shrimp and crab quesadilla without the crab, but was informed they mix it together in the morning and are unable to have it separate. The spicy cucumber jalapeño margarita wasn't my favorite, it was different but I was not crazy about it. My boyfriend had the chicken tenders but they were nothing to call home about. They had their outdoor tables and stuff but from the look of some of the condiments on the table, looks like they haven't been cleaned.

Came here during an overnight to the area and was in the mood for seafood. Truthfully, there aren't many restaurant options in this town, but the food looked great. I was able to be seated on their outdoor, but enclosed patio. Just off the outside of the patio is a large grassy area, towards the water, with chairs, tables, etc. It was rainy when I went, but I could see how this would be an enjoyable area to pass time. I ordered the cream of crab soup and broiled seafood platter. The soup was flavorful, but the seafood platter was very bland. The scallops were cooked to perfection though. Service was ok. One of my sides was wrong, and it took awhile for my server to come and check on me. But I was generally ok with everything.

Although it has been some time since our last visit, we've been here a few times. Arrived around 2:30 on a beautiful Monday afternoon so we opted to sit outside. About a 5 minute wait. Started with a Draft Loose Canon IPA-like this not too hoppy IPA. Ordered some appetizers to share -Crab Dip and Seafood Potatoes. Both were very good. Also ordered the Cobb Salad with Shrimp-also very good. Service was friendly and engaged but a little slow at times. Enjoyed the outdoor area and view of the Susquehanna.

Manhattan

I had a mixed but overall enjoyable experience. The crispy Brussels sprouts were the biggest letdown -- overcooked to the point of being burnt, which made them bitter and hard to enjoy. That dish needs more attention in the kitchen. The rest of the meal was much better. The mussels were a highlight -- the sauce was rich and flavorful, and the mussels were plump and fresh. I also tried the crab bites from the happy hour menu -- absolutely delicious and surprisingly well done for a bar bite. The quesadilla was good too -- cheesy and flavorful, though a bit greasy from all the melted cheese. Not a complaint, just something to note if you're ordering. And I have to shout out the Manhattan -- so good I ended up having two. Perfectly balanced and smooth. Would definitely come back for the mussels, crab bites, and drinks -- just hoping they tighten up that sprout game.

Delicious early dinner. Tasty seafood platter. Bartender was courteous and patient. Tried new Scotch when I was there. Will be back soon.

Let's start with service. The lady was nice and really kind. A little over price it was $150! Goodness right! The food is okay. At least the view is good! Overall this place is okay.

This is my second visit at Tide water grill, my first visit was average, my food wasn't impressive and I was seated inside, which idk if it is just me but has a moldy inside, provably the carpet. My second visit, which was with a group of coworkers (5 people), we stopped by for a quick lunch, in which we were seated outside by the water and it was great. Atmosphere: It was the perfect weather outside so sitting under an umbrella by the water was very refreshing, if you get the chance, I'd definitely recommend sitting outside. Food: I ordered the chicken/bacon melt, which came with a side of pickle and boardwalk fries. I was really pleased with my food, especially the fries were yummy. My coworker got the crab cake, I also tried it and it was decent. Coworkers also ordered the crab balls, and shrimp salad, which all got thumbs up from everyone.

Ask the Community - Tidewater Grille

Is deck seating or lawn seating better?

The lawn is closer to the water with tables seating up to four guests. If you plan to go with a larger party, seating can be accommodated on the deck. Either way, the views of the Susquehanna are exceptional.

The ambience was nice and the service was decent. The menu, particularly the entrees, seemed a little pricey for the area but the food we had was all good. Havre De Grace is a small waterfront town, so I have to say that considering the context and location, our dinner was really quite good and exceeded my expectations. If you're in town, it's a nice place to come for wine and an elevated dinner.

Every town, burg, or community - however large or small - should be the proud possessor of at least…read moreone... Bistro, that is. A cozy little restaurant that serves up delightfully delicious food in a decidedly casual setting. And in Havre de Grace, The Vineyard Wine Bar fills this niche with a subtle sense of style. As the name suggests, wine has played a significant role in Vineyard's obvious success. So much so, in fact, that not only does the restaurant sport a superb compendium of vintages by the glass and bottle, its lunch and dinner menus are also divided into categories - Light Bodied, Medium Bodied, Full Bodied - that correspond to specific types of wines. Yes, wine is definitely the name of the game... But don't let that fool you. The kitchen also has a great deal to say... and all of it good. The food here is excellent in every respect, as is the service. If I lived in HdG, I have absolutely no doubt that I would be tempted to dine here every day of the week. The Vineyard is everything a great bistro should be - and then some. But I begin to digress... As you have undoubtedly surmised from the above remarks, our dinner here was an extraordinarily satisfying experience. My dining partner and I began by sharing the Bruschetta Trio. Bruschetta is an Italian appetizer that begins with grilled bread topped with garlic and olive oil and then adds a variety of toppings. In this case, the finishing touches consisted of a luscious garlic spread, sundried tomato and basil pestos, melted mozzarella, and house marinated tomatoes with a balsamic glaze. While most incarnations of bruschetta may be consumed manually, Vineyard's substantially succulent variations on the theme (as you will note from the photograph above) demanded the ministrations of both knife & fork and were well worth the effort... Incredibly and unforgettably delicious. As we moved on to what would be considered the entrée or main course, options were numerous and varied... from Cornish Game Hen to Crispy Skin Duck... Venison to Dakota Steak... Lamb Vindaloo to Pesto Bucatini... ... On this particular evening, however, matters piscatorial appeared to take precedence. My dining partner was absolutely ecstatic with her Tuna Bites. Which is precisely what they were... diminutive squares of blackened tuna luxuriating in a Creole remoulade (a creamy, mayonnaise-based sauce originating in France). A definite "wow" factor at work here. On the other hand, my Mango Glazed Salmon was equally up to the mark... First of all, it was wild caught, which I much prefer (with rare exception) to the farmed variety. Secondly, as with most species of fish, salmon tends to be prone to both over and under cooking. Here, however, it was perfectly prepared - cooked through but still moist and succulent at the core - superbly complemented by a slightly smokey red pepper coulis (a smooth sauce made from puréed and strained fruits or vegetables), and companioned by lemon & herb risotto and roasted asparagus spears. On to the wine... With regard to both taste and texture, tuna and salmon are certainly among finny fare's heartiest representatives. Thus, despite the oft-quoted dictum, "Red wine with meat, white wine with fish," and the gentle urgings of our server in that direction, I have always found that salmon and pinot noir are - somewhat akin to lamb and red Bordeaux - a match made in heaven. And, in this instance, the 2022 Lundeen Mon Père Pinot Noir from Oregon's Willamette Valley proved to be a perfect match for my companion's blackened tuna bites as well. Dessert was a special treat. Naturally, many of the usual familiar sweet endings were present and accounted for. And, given the superior quality of the cuisine thus far, I had no doubt whatsoever that they would have acquitted themselves with suitable aplomb. For some reason, however, my dining companion and I were both drawn to the Crème Brûlée Cheesecake (pictured), which we decided to share... and, which, as it turned out, proved to be one of the high points of our evening. This was an intriguing amalgam indeed: The sweetness of taste being more influenced by the former; the firmness of texture by the latter. It is - if you will pardon the seemingly psychological digression - what we might consider a type of "gastronomic Gestalt," in which the whole is greater than the mere sum of its parts. In other words, the components of Crème Brûlée and Cheesecake have been combined... and from this fascinating combination there has emerged a new dessert that is even more desirable than the components have been individually. Well... call it what you will. I just know that it was so incredibly delicious that I would return at a moment's notice just to indulge my taste buds once again.

Yesterday, my friend and I took a bike ride around town, and then stopped in for an appetizer and a beverage. It was about 2:30 on the afternoon on a Friday, yet there was a nice gathering of folks enjoying themselves. We were promptly served, and left alone while we browsed the menu. My friend ordered the blackened ahi tuna starter, which she proclaimed bright with flavor and prepared exactly as requested (extra rare). I chose the cream of crab soup, which might be the best I've ever eaten, full of huge lumps of crab meat, delicately flavored with Old Bay, but not too salty. I would've preferred it a tad thinner, but it was not too thick to enjoy. Since I love meatballs, I also ordered the Margherita meatballs, and they were delicious! Three medium sized meatballs, tasting like your Italian Nonna made them, with a rich Sunday sauce and a sprinkling of parmesan. Yum yum yum. My friend and I also decided to splurge on a plate of onion rings, neither of us having had them for a long while. They came out overdone (or left under a lamp too long) and were burned around the edges. One bite and yuck. No worries, our bartender said she'd get them to make us another plate. The second plate came out looking perfectly, and we enjoyed a few, however, they were rather bland and lacked some flavor. Nonetheless, our experience was delightful and our dissatisfaction with the onion rings was not enough to take off a star from my rating. Havre de Grace is a charming small town at the base of the Susquehanna River where it meets the Chesapeake Bay. Come visit, browse the cute shops, and stop in Coakley's for some delicious food, expert cocktails and local energy.

I believe this was my second time here as it is a favourite of the extended family. Usually I'm here for a birthday or celebration of some kind. The food was okay. My French dip sandwich was fine but the onion rings were flavourless. The onion rings were lukewarm. The Peach Palmer was okay. Not very flavourful, like alcoholic weak tea. My partner ordered the Tuscan Garlic Chicken and found the sauce to be great but the chicken was dry. A cousin ordered the Captain Chesapeake sandwich and it was good but lacked crab. Which is astounding for a Chesapeake town to lack crab. The server for our party seemed very over it. Which I can understand partially since it was a busy Sunday afternoon. However our Birthday person has a disability, a stutter and delayed speech. Our server rolled his eyes and rushed her to order when she was trying her best. He lacked any sort of patience and seemed to just want to be done with us. The ambience is okay. It's weirdly empty and not decorated much. Overall it's okay but I don't come here unless someone else has chosen this as the venue for food.
