Spent the nite here due to the ice storm coming in. And yes we had ice cycles. Hehe. One waitress in this morn and a cook. More to come. Some calling in sick. We ordered and lingered this morning. My breakfast with eggs bacon and fruit pancakes was awesome. Lots of blueberries inside. The steak Bf got was nice n thick and really cooked to a perfect med rare ! Good day for lots of coffee! But we gotta go now. Great waitstaff and I think she was assist mgr. she joked around with us too nice!

Excellent cobb salad.

Just waited over 45 minutes for food. Restaurant was practically empty. We paid for our coffee and left.

Olde Towne Cafe & Inn - BLT

Went to Pataskala to get pie from the Nutcracker Restaurant only to find out its closed today…read more... So after a quick Yelp search of lunch near me, the first hit was Olde Towne Cafe and Inn which had five stars. I decided to check it out. I have to say I drove right past it! I was expecting for something a bit more store-fronty this really looks like a house and I missed their signage. I turned around on Rail Street... got distracted at Porters but within five minutes was back on track to Olde Towne. They have a small parking lot which had a space, so I eagerly parked and popped i side. It is super cute. Very farm house-ish. Definitely a old house converted i to a bed and breakfast with most of the downstairs rooms dining. The kitchen can be seen from the room I sat in. It looked very clean and organized. I browsed the menu and decided on pancakes. They are served with bacon or sausage.... Im not a huge meat eater so I chose bacon and crumbled up on the pancake.... Ended up pushing it off the pancake and not eating it. Not their fault. Bacon is fine but Im just liking bacon less and less. Today was a no bacon day. Lol. However the pancakes! Wowzers. Huge. Fluffy. i got two that were each almost as big as the oblong platter they were served on. I couldnt finish all of it. They were delicious. I see why people give this place a good rating. The staff was welcoming and make you feel at home. Its just a good old fashioned breakfast/lunch spot. Not bougie at all... which to me is a plus "not" to be bougie. Sometimes you just need a place that feels like home. This is that place.

That solution was found here- a delicious bowl of steaming hot homemade cauliflower and cheese soup. And I paired that with an incredible grilled cheese. The soup was thick and creamy, with plenty of cauliflower in a rich, thick soup. It was the best I have ever had and if it was an all you could eat deal - I would still be there eating! I felt like I was sitting in a warm country kitchen. The place was decorated tastefully and warmly for the season. I will have to come back and check out their other soups. I loved the whole experience here and think I will come here often!! And the service was as warm and friendly as the atmosphere! Hats off to this comfort food jewel!

I'm not sure how to rate this place. First off, ignore all the "family friendly " comments. It…read moreisn't, unless your family is all of drinking age. I'm going to break my ratings into two parts. 1) The food: we ordered burgers, fries, and drinks. The burger was great! Think backyard barbecue, a generous patty served on a Kroger style bun, topped with plenty of fresh tomato, pickles, and lettuce. A real pleaser. The fries: A homestyle shoestring fries that were cooked brown. They fell flat though because they were completely seasoning free, no salt, no nothing. 2) The atmosphere: Think dark, grungy, rural biker bar. Complete with an over served drunk at the bar yelling profanities bad enough to make a sailor blush. Did I say, not family friendly? Overall assessment: This place has probably been here for decades, and has served the area well as a local watering hole, with good food. It's old, the regulars are rough, but the food is good, and the drinks are cold. Problem is, the demographics of the area has changed. The area this place sits is growing as Columbus spreads East. If this place is to survive in the future, it'll need a facelift inside and out. There is a nice little stage area outside that could draw people in from the new neighborhoods surrounding it, if a little love was given to the place.... Oh, and cut off the happy hour drinkers BEFORE they're sloppy drunk. Five stars for the food, ding one point for the drunk, and one for cleanliness, and stack of stock lying around in plain sight. Three stars. We may come back to try the pizza. We saw several coming out of the back, and they looked delicious....Probably without kids... and after happy hour.

There was water dripping from the ceiling onto the bar. My first thought was to leave. I looked around. The place wasn't clean. All the bar stools had tears in them. I really didn't want to eat here. So we ordered beers while we decided what to do. My beer was not cold. The bottle was but the beer was not. Anyway, we went ahead and ordered. The menu was a piece of paper. We had looked up the menu online. That why were decided to go. But not all the items listed online weren't on the paper. When I asked about it, they told us that yes, they knew but couldn't control the website because they couldn't get ahold of the webmaster. So, I ordered the fish sandwich, with onion rings. Husband got something that had sausage and tomato sauce. He told me it was awful. But he was hungry and ate it. My fish and onion rings tasted like a fry vat that hadn't had the oil changed in over a year. It had been over a year since we had visited this place. Because the last meal we ate here was just as bad. We will never be back. When we first moved to this area, we used to come to this restaurant a lot. The place was nice, clean and the food was very good. But not anymore.

The milkshake was so delicious they served it in a soda shop glass and left the metal mixing cup. Stromboli was next to none. I've tried Stromboli in many states and this by far is my absolute favorite. The lady serving us was super busy and moving from table to table and she was so kind. This restaurant is always busy and you honestly have to wait a while for the hot food. Our server was friendly and attentive to our needs. We ordered way more food than two people could possibly eat but we knew we could take it home. I love the cappuccino crunch ice cream. It is my all time favorite flavor. The ice cream came out pretty melty because of the extreme heat. Our server apologized for it. The restaurant has games available for the wait. The restaurant is quiet enough for conversation with one of your favorite sons also! The tables were clean as was the restroom. The food is decent. This is not gourmet dining nor is it necessarily healthy. As an occasional treat, the food hits the spot. We will be back!
