My wife and I visit this establishment twice a week never had a problem. Today we had to sit ourselves and it took 17 mins before we got a menu. We ordered the sampler which came timely. The waiter took our order. But when received it my order wasn't ready yet. Typical good Denny's location. I can usually depend on most Denny's locations, especially when it comes to breakfast. Ordered the 'Lumberjack Slam' and it was made as great as usual. The breakfast choices on the menu are quite good and I generally prefer Denny's to IHOP anytime. Staff was friendly and waitress was attentive. Plenty of parking and a good amount of seating. The food was horrible, I found a fingernail in my grand slam. I has terrified of what I bit into. I also saw somebody get arrested just outside the restaurant. Your experience here definitely depends on who you have as a server. Whenever we are seated with Raed, the service is flawless, the food comes out quickly, and everything arrives as it was ordered. Unfortunately, on our most recent trip on 7/4/13, we were seated in Pat's section. Pat seems equally overwhelmed whether there are 200 customers in the restaurant, or 10. We ordered the patriotic red, white and blue pancake puppies to start and it took about 15 minutes for them to come out and they were chewy and overcooked (or maybe just sat around too long before being brought to our table). I assume that Pat doesn't understand the phrase "to start" as the entrees came right on the tail of the pancake puppies. That is quite possibly my biggest restaurant pet peeve. In most cases, I actually order an appetizer and "pretend" to not know what I want for the main course to force the space between appetizer and man course. We did that here but our plan was foiled by Pat, the incompetent waitress. My husband's order was incomplete, Pat noted that the pancakes weren't done yet. He finished the food he was brought and we were basically twiddling our thumbs while Pat bussed tables and wandered around aimlessly. I flagged her down and asked about the pancakes and it was clear she had completely forgotten. She ran to get them, never offered coffee refills and generally secured herself the exact 15% tip. I won't ever forego a tip since it is in bad taste...but servers can get 30% or more with me if they do a good job. That will probably never be the case for Pat. If Denny's wants to be "America's Diner", I think they need to work on service a little bit. I don't expect the food to be 5 star, but I think timing so that the whole meal can come out together should be pretty easy for line cooks who do this all day long. We will go again but definitely ask to sit in Raed's section when he is there, and avoid Pat at all costs!!! read more

After a long day of swimming my cousin and i decided to get something to eat.. we came here as we have done several times before (without issue) until tonight, we both ordered the the strawberry crepes with were over cooked and greasy and with out the strawberries, I ordered 2 alacarte sides of bacon ( see picture of the menu that shows how many pieces) i received 1 plate with 2 pieces on it when i questioned the "waitress " she said you didn't ask for 2 sides my cousin spoke up and said " yes she did" the waitress came back with another plate with 2 pieces so i asked her when did the side order go from 4 to 2 she said it's always been that way since a the 2 years she has worked there.. told her to look at her menu... by this time we asked to speak to a manager.. her reply " there isn't one on duty" she went out back to get the cook as she was walking back e heard her say " you deal with them i'm not going back out there " the "cook" denied that they were hard boiled eggs. then went and got the receipt for the bacon which said 2 ala carte bacon ( again look at the menu aka cart side of bacon 4 pieces) we went to register paid for what was eaten English muffin, orange juice and the strawberry pancake hush puppies... what a waste of money for those items .... I placed a door dash order and specifically indicated "NO PEPPERS", as I'm allergic to them. My order was loaded with peppers. I double checked the receipt which clearly indicated no peppers. I called and spoke to a manager after my order arrived and was told it would be replaced next time we called. I called about a month later to make good on that promise and got the run around. I was told that the manager would call right back... spoke to the manager almost 10 hours later. He promised to replace the order. When I called again today, to have it replaced, I was told that the manager said" he's washing his hands of that, and to call door dash because they brought the wrong order". Came here for the first time to get breakfast with my boyfriend for his birthday and the server named Bridget comes over and doesn't even greet us. She only asks what we want to drink and then leaves. She comes back with the drink , slams it on the table and leaves without even asking us if we were ready to order. Seeing this attitude made me go up to the the hostess to change our table. Our second server was Michelle who was very sweet and made us feel welcome.. This place is truly spectacular. I can tell you with 100% certainty I met the love of my life here: Brenda. That was her name. Plaid skirt, fishnets, a turtleneck crop top. She walked in looking like a million bucks. My boy Scooter convinced me to go talk to her. I'm a feminist so I'm not going to say I manned up I'm going to say I overcame my fears of talking to her. I saw her again the next day. She was in a roaring 20s flapper dress and slick brown cow boots. The mud on her shoes was fresh. Anyway, the hard boiled eggs here are fan-fucking -tastic. For starters me and my fiancé got the boneless wings for an appetizer. The wings weren't really that bad I mean how can you mess up wings. The waitress was very kind and provided wonderful service. She asked us it we wanted any sauce and we chose ranch. I may be crazy but I thought ranch was a liquid not a paste. I smelled it and it didn't have a scent so I'm not sure what it was but I didn't want to take any chances. I ordered the all American burger. My fiancé ordered the Nashville hot chicken melt. The bun on my burger was soggy and it didn't really have any taste. The cheese is super stringy and also doesn't really provide my tastebuds with any flavor. My fiancé's melt was burnt as far as the bread goes. The chicken had a hard shell but the inside was also soft and had a lot of cartilage. Okay, now when I go to a Denny's, do I expect fabulous food? HECK no. But I do expect well-priced food at a very cheap cost. In the past, I've had "Meh" experiences with Denny's, but I keep returning mainly because it's a comfortable place to take my kid (cheap as well). I have noticed recently that they have improved in many ways and my most recent visit is the reason I'm writing a review today. My daughter turned three on Saturday (8/10) and she wanted to go because she loves mac and cheese, with yogurt and the ability to sit and color while she waits for her food. I know it seems like a common thing in a lot of restaurants, but it is what she wanted to do. When I told them it was her birthday, the waitress and the manager on duty really went out of their way to make our food arrive FAST and make her feel special. Her mac and cheese comes out meh. It's obviously reheated in a microwave, but the quality didn't matter because they made her feel special. The last few times I've gone, they've hired some VERY polite waitresses and made sure I continuously got my free refills, in a to-go-cup if necessary. Food always arrives quickly and I always see some "regulars" who joke around with the waitstaff, so it's always a friendly environment for me. Since I saw a lot of negative reviews (which I do believe are fair for their respective dates), I have noticed an improvement in their waitstaff and I hope they read this and improve their food as well. read more

I was with seven other people and we all got our food served at different times and by different people, even though we were the only ones there. Someone even served my boyfriend while he was on his cell phone. They didn't have a lot of menu items and skimped out on bacon in their maple bacon sundaes, which the waitress said was to not overpower the flavor and give us bellyaches (aka they had no more bacon). If your true desire is something like "The Ring Burger," a burger flame broiled in the fires of mount doom, this is not. However, the Bilbo Berry Smoothy was "awesome," says another member of the club. Beyond the hobbit experience, the Denny's is pretty much what you would expect. Denny's in Middlefield felt very unsafe. People allowed in without masks to walk right by us - including mother in law who had chemotherapy. Food was ok, even if waitress forgot some things.
