Haven't eaten at a Denny's in over a decade but I was out voted. Basic breakfast fair with original slam and many varieties of it including make-your-own. Place was busy and plenty of waitresses avail and moved customers along well without rushing. Took average time to place order and get food. Decent food - had two buttermilk pancakes, scrambled eggs with cheddar, hash browns and sausage (which was the only item that was dry). Place was clean. Just 'ok'. Stopped in this morning for a very early breakfast on our way through Leominster, honestly it was what I expected and that's fine with me. Had pancakes and eggs on the brain when I went to bed last night (thanks Diner's, Drive-ins, and Drives) when we got there the hostess never looked at us or said hello. After a few minutes she asked, "Booth, Table, or Bar?" sat us and that was it. After a minute we had a waitress ask us if she could Start us off with a beverage. We gave her the order and 2 more waitresses came and asked us the same thing (don't seem to have any table to waitress system LOL) we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of offers. I eat at Denny's all over the country. My jobs requires me to travel frequently. I have noticed something at this one I haven't seen anywhere else. When you order french toast you only get two pieces. One slice of bread! I have not seen this anywhere else. Even the picture of the French Toast is 4 pieces or two(2) slices of bread on the menu. I also noticed that if you get toast with your meal you get 4 pieces (2) slices. I feel like they are either cheap or ripping me off. Either way this feels wrong. Usually, I like Denny's, but the Leominster location is so inconsistent. Sometimes I eat there, and it's delicious! Service is fast and friendly! But the other night, they were the rudest, dumbest people I have ever dealt with. Whoever worked on 7/2/14 (around midnight) know this: you suck. First, they ran out of french toast. How the hell do you run out of french toast at a breakfast place? Do you have bread? Do you have eggs? You must have, because the alternative meal I decided on had eggs AND toast, so I don't understand why I couldn't have french toast...... Then, after getting upset over that, it took 45 mins to make (I picked up) and the guy at the counter ignored me for about 5 mins, even as I stood there staring at him, and doing some "ahem-ing." The rest of the staff must have walked by me a hundred times, and not a single one said, "someone will be right with you..." This restaurant is miserable. Today it took us almost 45 minutes to be served and when the food arrived it was stone cold and the order was wrong. The plates were dirty and the coffee was served without sugar. When we asked for it, we were given handfuls of sugar packets that were wet and congealed. The waitstaff were disgusting and had questionable hygienic habits (we over heard the waitstaff's conversations behind us.). When you go to Denny's, you have to be in the right mind-set for the food you're going to get. It's not gourmet, it's inventive, it's just above fast food but the lure to Denny's for us is that you can get breakfast at any time day or night. I'm not a huge breakfast fan but my partner is so we keep Denny's in our list of regular places when we get up too late to make it to a diner for breakfast or when coming home after a late night out. My staple is at Denny's is the nachos. I usually get the half order since there's so much topping on them that the full order gets soggy before you get half-way through. They're just sloppy and yummy with cheese sauce, onions, tomatoes, taco meat and big dollop of sour cream. I love them and crave them every so often that it's become my favorite thing there. I did recently try one of their promotions which was macadamia nut pancakes topped with coconut cream and grilled pineapple. Damn good. I was shocked at how good it was good. It came with two eggs and bacon. It was a nice change to plain ole pancakes. I truly enjoyed it. I often like to try the various pancake puppies that they have. I didn't like the blueberry ones they had but the white chocolate chip were fantastic. I still need to try the pineapple coconut that they currently have (if I haven't missed them). My partner usually gets the "Moons over my hammy" which is a sandwich of scrambled eggs, cheese and ham. Get it with a side of fries and it's quite good. What I've found interesting is that at this particular Denny's, you can get a half order. I've tried that at other Denny's and they won't do it. A half of the sandwich is just a perfect size. And you can't beat the location right off of Rt 2. Easy on and off. read more

Worst place ever to eat at!!! The waitress was very rude, and continued to get the orders wrong. My friend had ordered a pot roast sandwich, the waitress came out and said that they had no pot roast left. My friend then decided to just order a regular cheese burger. When are food had arrived the waitress had given her the pot roast sandwich, to which my friend replied "I'm sorry but I no longer want this, I wanted the burger i had ordered." The waitress rolled her eyes and said "nothing I can do." When we left the restaurant the waitress proceeded to be rude, and we apologized if we being rude but we had been waiting almost over 2 hours for our food to arrive and at that point we just wanted to leave. Upon entering, the vestibule had a strange smell my daughter commented on. It was a Sunday afternoon, so I'm thinking they might have had a busy day. First impression, it was dirty. The floor was dirty, the trash behind the counter was completely full and trash was spilling out on the floor. The entry door was covered in dirty handprints. We were greeted promptly and seated. Upon being seated, I noticed the rug was dirty and worn out in several spots. An inspection of the bathrooms showed they too were filthy. The table was wiped down properly, but the menu was just the opposite, a sticky mess. As for the food, it's standard American fare. It was average at best. The service was good. I've traveled around the country and have eaten at many Denny's restaurants. I've never had a bad experience. The food is always good. The restaurants are always clean. The service is always good. Recently, I ate at Denny's in Leominster, and I was not disappointed. I ordered the Midwestern Sandwich, made of prime rib and French fries sandwiched into a cheddar bulkie roll. It was delicious, and the accompanying mashed potatoes and gravy were also outstanding. Service was very good. It was lunch time, and about one fourth of the tables and booths were occupied. I was seated immediately, and the hostess/waitress brought my coffee within two minutes. I ordered my sandwich at that time, and it was placed before me 12 minutes later. I didn't like the coffee, so when the sandwich was served, I asked for a glass of water. I had it within one minute. She checked back with me two more times to make sure all was okay. It was. I am a satisfied customer, and I will gladly return to this restaurant. It is located on the outskirts of the Mall at Whitney Field near exit 32 off Route 2. It's next to the Motel 6 and across the street from Wendy's and Papa Gino's. read more
