Went here this morning. It was a toss up between this location and 2 other nearby ones. We obviously chose the worst location. So 3 kids ordered 3 smoothies. 2 strawberry banana and 1 mango. Both of the strawberry bananas had some unrecognizable plastic fiber material that was very gray hair like all throughout the smoothy and straw . when the kids complained I originally brushed it off. Until I sucked up a full straw worth myself. It defiantly was not any fruit organic material because I took it out of my mouth and it was definitely plastic. We nicely told the Lady the situation without complaining and just asked for mango since that one was fine. When it came it was fine. Then when or food came ,2 of our 5 meals had 2 long strands of women's hair in it. What luck right? What is going on back there? And why us? We kindly just took the hair out and disgustingly forced yourselves to eat around that area because we already knew the cooks were on a good one to mess with us in first place. When we were paying, the manager luckily was the one checking us out. When we explained the whole situation to him calmly. He didn't seem to care to make the situation right by doing anything about the bill or maybe a coupon. Anything at all to make the situation a tad bit better for customers who weren't even complaining. Shame on you 10 fold. I hope you see this and feel bad or even worse corporate sees this bcause what we went through was very unacceptable and to just brush it off like..... Ehhhhhh, just pay your bill and leave. Great restaurant! Clean like it was just opened; the food is delicious and our server Karina was A+. I always appreciated a server stopping by offering drink refills instead of having to flagged them down. The food arrived very hot. The mgr Jesse is great, very nice and friendly. He was excellent when they only did takeouts, he always got the order correct and it was ready on time. I went several times a week to pick up my food. Stated off a little rough .. wasn't served for about 5 minutes. Started to get a little irritated butrealized after lupe saw us and asked us if we'd be taken care of that there was a miscommunication and then proceeded to take our order.. We asked for a decently complicated order in a time where she was taking care of 8-9 tables. One of the request was to receive our food in a certain order. It was busy and I was doubtful but Lupe came through. Our food came out within 5 minutes and looked amazing and tasted even better. Then the second order came in right on time. The whole time she was attentive and checked in multiple times. I work in the hospitality so I notice everything. She didn't hit the 7 steps of service what so ever, but her effort and made us feel like we were her only table and was beyond what we expected from Dennys. Came in here for my dad's early birthday was warmly greeted by Karina our hostess and waitress. She was very friendly and helpful and suggested the blueberry pancakes with eggs and bacon which I ordered my parents ordered also pancakes with scrambled eggs and bacon and sausage coffees teas all the way around . This place is a new newly renovated Denny's it's clean friendly inviting service was excellent food was warm and not cold we were happy. The blueberry pancakes were amazing I loved it blueberries were perfect the pancakes for fluffy the bacon was great the eggs were great everything was great did I mention it was great? So the website says they're open until 10 PM you get to the door and it says open till 10 AM but nobody's here it's locked up. That's the location on Alicia Parkway so I called the location on El Toro Rd. and they said they're open till 1030 usually but they're closed because they're working on the kitchen tonight. So my suggestion is find a new place to go or maybe Denny should post on their website called to make sure they're open because since I've been sitting here for 10 minutes seven cars of pulled in here to find out they're closed. Ordered eggs Benedict without ham. What I got was fried eggs on English muffin with sketchy melted cheddar cheese. The menu clearly shows eggs Benedict as we all expect them to be - poached eggs with hollandaise sauce. What I was told was "this is how we make it" even though the picture on the menu depicts it correctly. I had to decline the dish based on it was not what I ordered and it looked totally unappetizing. I eat at Denny's all over the country. I must say this Denny's on El Toro Road in Lake Forest is fabulous. I went there the first time 5 years ago and it was so delicious and the staff was so nice I came back. And then I came back and back and I eat there probably once every 10 days. Their food is cooked absolutely perfect and it is delicious. And the staff they are so wonderful. When I walk in the door every time they're like so happy to see me I feel like family and they do that with so many of the patrons here. I highly recommend this restaurant. It's better than any coffee shop in South Orange County. And I highly recommend anything that comes with sausage because it is delicious. I also recommend the club sandwich. Mouth-watering read more

This Denny's is brand new, and remodeled after the baker's square closed. I've been here a few times, once for the grand opening, and few more for free meals. They were giving away 52 free grand slams for a year, and I won one! The grand slam's aren't that bad. The pancakes are better than McDs, although the bacon is mediocre quality. They do let you pick and build your own slam, which is good. Every time I have come here, there are other people eating here, so it seems people like this place..and they are ordering real food, so they aren't just freeloaders like me. Of the 3 Denny's in the area, I would prefer this one simply because it's new. The staff is friendly, and I've gotten good service considering the caliber of restaurant. read more

Best Service in a Denny's yet hands down. Like so many others have said the Denny's on El Toro Rd near Raymond is the best. I come here for breakfast and almost always get a Grand Slam of some sort, but last time I tried one of the new skillet breakfasts. You pick your own meat, style of eggs, potatoes, veggies, and cheese and it comes out on a little cast iron skillet that is sizzling. Quite good and $7 (or $8 w/toast). The manager is always in suit, friendly, helpful, and remembers your name. Good place for a weekend breakfast. read more

For a $4 breakfast it's hard to complain about anything, but terrible service is terrible service, so avoid this place in the mornings unless you feel like being a waiter/waitress yourself. We spent one hour in a restaurant and only got one cup of coffee, which took 20 minutes to get to us (with a total of 6 customers in the whole place). An update to my review of July, 2012: unfortunately, little has changed over the past 8 months with regard to this particular Denny's location. The coffee is still teetering on the verge of tepid, and crispy hash browns are simply not possible. My dining partner's grimaces over the state of the cardboard biscuits and gravy-like substance, did little to restore my confidence. The late-night / early-morning waitperson is a gem -- he even cooked my breakfast for me on one occasion -- but the kitchen support needed to bring this restaurant's quality to an acceptable standard has gone somewhere south for the winter, and has yet to return. I can recall being there late on weekend nights, and seeing diverse and numerous patrons in attendance, all of whom contributed to the general atmosphere of the typical late-night American diner experience. Their absence now, speaks louder than the jovial cacophony which used to prevail there. We really, do need a good late-night diner in our town. I just don't think it will ever be this particular one. Denny's, I've loved you since childhood, and it kind of hurts to see this quiet, desperate decline of a once-reliable celebration of comfort food without shame. Please, come back. read more

We are always seated promptly and wait time to be served is short. But the most important reason we come back is Juan L!!!!! Juan lights up a room with his genuine kind smile! He makes us feel like family!
