My husband and I are big fans of Firehouse Subs and visit many locations regularly, but today's experience at this location was extremely disappointing. My husband stopped in during his 30-minute lunch break. When he walked in, there was no greeting at all. He waited for several seconds with no acknowledgment, even though an employee was standing at the register not helping anyone. When my husband asked if he could get some assistance, the employee said, "One second, I'm doing something," without any courtesy. After waiting about five minutes--precious time during a short lunch break--my husband asked again if someone could help him and mentioned that no one had greeted him when he arrived. The employee responded by saying, "I hate it when you people come in to the store." When my husband asked what he meant, the employee refused to repeat himself and only asked what he wanted to order. At that point, my husband no longer felt comfortable ordering food from someone speaking and behaving that way, so he left. I tried calling the store to speak with a manager and received no answer. We hope management addresses this situation seriously. No customer should be spoken to that way, and no employee representing Firehouse Subs should behave like that. We will be visiting the store in person to follow up and ensure this issue is handled properly. read more

Tried the Hook and Ladder sandwich. Bread was light and fluffy and the best part of the sandwich. Meat was a less than other sandwich shops but still reasonable. The toppings were fresh. I like that they included a slice of pickle. The ambience is fire department themed. Plenty of seating available inside and outside. read more

The purpose of this message is to inform you about my experience at the Firehouse Sub in Laguna Woods located on El Torro Road, Orange County, CA. The reason for going to Firehouse Subs today was for the Mike promotion. I was excited to come and get the deal in addition to that it was my first time in 52 years. I have been living just down the road for about 10+ years and never stopped at this location until today. I went with my partner, and we ordered the Philly Cheesesteak, and the young lady was really nice. She had excellent customer service that I tipped. We decided to sit outside since the weather was nice and after about 20 mins we noticed that the person who ordered after us had his order and was also sitting outside. My partner questioned this, so I went inside and it turned out that the gentleman behind us got our food. I went inside to see if we could get a bag of chips for the inconvenience and just happened to be talking to the Store manager himself. I would describe him as 5'6, dark complexion, Light brown long beard. He went to tell me "it is not our fault that you did not get your sandwich, we do not have the courtesy to call you for your food and plus you are getting the free sandwich anyways" and I responded "no you messed up, you allowed another customer to get my sandwich, I have the right as the customer. It doesn't matter if the sandwich was free, you are not even giving me an apology." he said "I'm not going to even do that, you're wrong" I walked out stressed to tell my partner and she calmed me down. I went back inside after to check on the food, and he put my sandwich in the bag, and he slammed it on the counter. While this happened, I heard one of the associates tell the manager, "You could have at least apologized or give him the chips" and he responded to the associated "idc he does not get free chips from me." I got my sandwich and left the store and ate. He refused to give me his name but told him I would be reporting him. I urge you to please take some corrective action on this store manager or some sort of compensation to me for this horrible experience. read more

We first went on the Firehouse website to see what types of sandwiches we wanted. Then I signed up for the Firehouse rewards program that said I would get 50% off my first order. I tried to order online but the sandwiches that we wanted that we saw on the website were not included as options for this particular place. We went there in upon getting ready to order. We asked them whether they had wraps. A man looked at us and abruptly and rudely said, " no wraps no soup no breakfast no coffee!" I was so taken aback that I said, "wow you seem like you've got that line down pretty well." He just kept walking to the back and didn't respond. A woman who was there working said, "Starbucks closed so we have a lot of requests for coffee." Then we realized that the sandwiches and soup that we saw online weren't options we could order. So we altered what we wanted and ordered three sandwiches. It comes with roast beef, smoked turkey breast, Virginia honey ham, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, and deli mustard. I added jalapeños and caramelized onions at no additional charge. The flavors are a combination of savory, a little sweet, and the added jalapeño spice. One thing I will note is the bread tends to become really soggy on the bottom if you don't eat it quickly and because of this, I probably wouldn't save any for leftovers. - Oatmeal Cookie | The cookie is wrapped in cellophane and quite firm when I bit into it. I ordered a sub in store on 1/16/26 in the early evening with the girl that is Hispanic. I told her that I wanted extra mayo on my sub. When I got home to eat my sandwich, was there any mayo? No. Don't order a sandwich with her because either she doesn't listen, care or needs to have orders repeated to her. When we arrived, there we no other customers. An angry-looking woman behind the counter never even acknowledged. We could hear someone in the back, but that person never came out. I drove away with family in tow to find out after taking a bite that melted cheese was all buried in my meal. When I called i was greeted by Julian who literally argued that all their sandwiches come with cheese & you have to say "no cheese" to have your food allergies honored. I experienced a lack of listening, entitlement & rude manners as he refused to hear me & repeated himself ad nauseam. I went back in the next day to get a replacement meal & I was refused. He wouldn't even let me have my receipt back. It's hard to believe this company would give manager keys to a person with the conflict resolution skills of a toddler & such a lack of respect or empathy for food allergies. This young man is need of retraining & a lesson in manners would be helpful too. If you read on in this thread you'll see many negative reviews about this location & Julian, I don't think it's a coincidence. I imagine a corporation of this size does not care about disgruntled individuals (as there's many customers in queue anyway) yet how we spend our dollars as a consumer is one of the few powers we possess. The meatball had a good blend of parmesan and mozzarella cheese, and the marinara sauce gave it a delightful flavor. The steak and cheese was also just as good. I usually don't like Philly cheese steak sandwiches because some places tend to put too much green pepper and it usually overpowers the taste of the entire sandwich. But, this sandwich had a perfect blend of steak, cheese, mayo, grilled onions and pepper. It was really delicious! I also got my husband a bowl of their chili and he devoured that thing in a heartbeat. I didn't even get to taste it. He was a happy camper to say the least. My son had the other Meatball sandwich all to himself, and he too was a happy camper. The only thing I noticed that was average is their bread. It was ordinary, and the same quality as Subway. Moe's Deli still has the best quality bread. Ambiance: 3 out of 5 Plain looking, but clean interior with few tables inside. Finding parking isn't an issue, thanks to a spacious parking lot. Kid behind the counter has no idea what customer service is. Took 30 minutes to have 3 sandwiches made. When I asked what's taking so long he said "Relax" then started staring at me like he wanted to fight. I told this young disrespectful punk that you don't tell the customer to relax. Apparently, Firehouse Subs doesn't train their staff very well and they don't do anything when employees act like delinquents. Now, let me first say that I have absolutely nothing against Firefighters or First Responders. Bless them. However, my experience eating here was so poor that I actually considered popping out my phone in the middle of the meal to type this up. Turkey tasted like some of the worst, processed, "smoked" turkey I've ever had. If I had to guess, it's turkey breast "gloop" formed into the shape of a turkey with smoke flavor added. Asked for a water cup, in which they stated their soda machine was down, and didn't even think of offering tap water (since it technically is, drinkable). New cashier says she can slide (or another word) me a water bottle instead, which I happily take assuming it was a courtesy. Nope! $2.99 tacked onto the check for a ditzy little basic bottle of water they probably get at wholesale/restaurant depots for less than $0.50! Refused it, thought the walk back to my car to get a bottle of water from it was more worth it instead. Sat down at a table by myself. Not hard to find a seat considering I was the only one in the restaurant for almost the entire meal - it was dead EMPTY. Admired the giant painting on the wall and the nice decor of Fireman jackets & helmets on the wall. Got my sandwich. Sad, joke of an "8-inch" sub sandwich. I've legitimately had a better sandwich at a gas station in the middle of nowhere out of desperation. $10.19+tax for a sad, horrible excuse for a "sub sandwich"... When instead, I could've literally walked to the Trader Joe's across the way - bought a WHOLE baguette and a full 8oz of sliced smoked turkey for less than that. Asked for Chili, since everywhere online said to try the chili. The employee says they don't have chili right now. He didn't even make another suggestion of getting a salad or their soup, or anything.. train your employees better! All-in-all: Extremely unenthusiastic employees, sub-par quality, sub-par size.
