Been a long time customer at Denny's, and my recent visit is another reason of why I'll keep coming back! Gavin was our waiter, best waiter ever! He was really on top with his customer service. We were seated in less than 5 minutes, put in our order as soon as we sat down, and the food came out in the next 5-10 minutes. Food was so delicious, nice & hot. We used to come to this restaurant a lot and the service was great. T But, this is the second time we came here thinking that the service would be better. Well...think NOT. One manager/cashier/hostess, one server with a party of 18 and another server with 2 tables with couples. We stood in back of an elderly couple for about 5-7 minutes. He finally told the couple that it'll be about another 5-10 minutes. As soon as we heard that, I told my family of 4 adults that their service has not changed. The couple in front of us heard that and guess what happened. Yup, we all walked out. I predict that this will be the next restaurant in Kapolei to shut down. I truly wish that Ruby Tuesday could've stayed open in Kapolei. I would go to that restaurant any day over Denny's. To management of Denny's, If you don't improve drastically, your numbers will show that this restaurant in not profitable and you and your staff will be looking for jobs at another restaurant. read more

Breakfast on a Saturday morning. Wait time for seating less than 10 minutes. Like most restaurants today, it's under staffed and so wait times are a little longer, but not excessively so. Our server (Natasha) was serving lots of tables and cashiering, but her service was still excellent. Dennys was refurbished a year or so ago and the interior is very modern, minimalist, and super clean, complete with a Kapolei neon sign, how cool is that. What makes Dennys special is the ability to build your own breakfast, cuz the bfast menu is extensive. I got the French Toast Slam ($17.99) that comes with three slices of Hawaiian Sweet Bread French Toast, two scrambled eggs, two link sausage and two bacon. It was very good. Wife got the Cinnamon Pancakes ($16.39) with Eggs Over Easy, bacon and seasonal fruit ($1.39). All was ver satisfying. Highly recommend Dennys for their breakfast. read more

So I thought I would give Denny's Kapolei one more chance & a friend suggested we go to lunch. I didn't mention the poor service I had experienced and we arrived around 11:45 to see a note posted on the door that the restaurant would be closed at 12 noon. I thought we wouldn't be seated for lunch but was told no more people would be seated after 12pm as there would be a meeting at 1pm in the restaurant. I ordered the Bourbon burger and upgraded to onion rings. I received a burger with a hair in the meat & 5 cold onion rings. Our server, Faith was apologetic and said she would order another burger...I declined pulling on the hair stuck in the burger patty. She said she would have to show her manager. You'd think my bill would have been negated, but no; I thought the manager would come to talk to me, but no. I was charged $4+ for my Coca Cola. Not a well managed restaurant. Surprisingly we got seated pretty quickly. However once seated it was as if the staff forgot that customers were there. The management didn't check in on any of the customers or help the waitstaff. It should never take over 2 hours to get a couple sandwiches and fries. This Denny's location needs new management & staff. Went here yesterday to take advantage of a birthday deal. Initially it started a little off as they had a sign on the door that said they only had scrambled eggs; limited menu. But I saw that there were still a lot of people inside. I asked several people who just ate there what's happening and they mentioned that they only had one cook and that they ran out of fresh eggs, but only had powdered eggs (similar to the eggs that are served at small hotel breakfast buffets), which I didn't mind so we went in anyway. All in all, we still had a great breakfast. Service was great. The staff were very attentive and very upbeat. The food was still good. We both ordered their Everyday Value Slam (mine was birthday free) which included a choice of pancakes or French toast, a choice of meat, & scrambled eggs. Also got a side of crispy hash browns that we shared, plus coffee. Aside from the eggs issue (which were still good with ketchup), the bacon and sausages were good and surprisingly the pancakes (fluffy & moist) and the French toast were great. My favorite Denny's on the entire earth! As you notice from all the photos uploaded, we go to this particular Denny's for breakfast quite a bit. Service is always nice, my favorite berry vanilla crepe is always on point and so far has been available each time, keeping my fingers crossed xx. Mister likes the steak breakfast, must be good because it's his favorite breakfast dish to order, he has tried other dishes (eggs bene, omelette), but wasn't as pleased as with the steak. If you go on the weekends, and want to beat the early crowd, go early. Plenty of near by parking. read more

One thing about Dennys you know what to expect. After an appointment decided to fed my hungry husband breakfast. Wait staff was quick to seat us and take our order. The remodel has definitely given the store a brighter and friendlier atmosphere everyone will love. All the employees are friendly and you feel at home when you eat out here. Wait time for food may be a little long but it is definitely worth it for the mouthwatering flavors that hit you with every bite. I get the Cali club or a rotation of the breakfast offerings and it never disappoints. Don't even get me started on presentation! I eat with my eyes every time and have the pictures to prove it. Waitress was horrible they came to our table asked if we was ready right when we are about to speak they walked away we waited and 1 hour after the first one walked away and another 30 min when the second one walked away. Our food was cold and to top it off the waitress that walked away the first time went onto lunch break at 9 pm we didn't get served out food til 1030 ish sat down around 7 pm. Will never recommend to anyone. The reviews that people give on this location of Denny is very true. Horrible food, service, and customer service. The place is a filth and it wasn't even packed for a Saturday night they Berally had anyone. There are workers standing around we've only seen one lady who was tending to her tables and being very initiative on them, came quick with there foods and the only one on the floor doing her job. Those other waitress talk about customers Infront everyone and laughs thinking us customers can't hear them when they're clearly right Infront the kitchen speaking loudly for everyone. Came to Denny's Kapolei for brunch and it was definitely busy due to being short-staffed, so expect a wait. It took about 5 minutes to get on the waitlist, 15 minutes to be seated, and some additional time to order and receive our food. That said, our server Gavin was great! Even while managing multiple tables, he checked on us, refilled drinks, brought napkins, got our takeout container, and was our cashier too Food was good, and it was nice to see other families being understanding and supportive of the staff as well. Update on this location... The food, service and Ambiance experience has made some improvements. We patronize this location every 4-6 weeks. Okay Kapolei Denny's, here's the real scoop - my fam and I popped in to check out your freshly renovated digs (which look great, by the way - super clean and welcoming). We were greeted and seated right away and our potential server Karma was amazing - super sweet and doing her best to hold it down during what was clearly a rough night. So the good: place is shiny clean , we got our water and Karma is a gem . Now for the "wait, what?" part. We got there with no line and thought, yes, perfect timing! But once seated... crickets. No notice of delays, no orders taken, just us and our water. Fifteen minutes later we're still sipping water and wondering if we're invisible. We actually had to call Karma over just to ask if we could order..... and that's when we were told the kitchen was so backed up, they couldn't take orders yet. Meanwhile, two managers - one very noticeable in a bright orange shirt - were literally standing around chatting, while their team struggled and the kitchen fell behind. Leadership 101: when your crew is buried, you roll up your sleeves and jump in. You don't stand around seeing how long you can hold off seating people or delay orders. That's just not it, Denny's! Sadly, we gave up and left before even ordering any food. So we got water... and that's about it. Stars for Karma's attitude and the sparkling remodel. I ordered food on Uber Eats and waited over an hour to receive my food. When I finally got my food everything was cold, I ordered scrambled eggs and my eggs were watery, my chocolate pancakes were burnt, my hash browns were burnt, my crapes were hard , it didn't have any vanilla cream filling in it and the strawberries were sour. I've eaten at Denny's many times before and this time the food was the worse. I spent over $50 and I barely ate anything and threw eveything away. read more

I haven't been here in a long long time. This is usually not a place I would've picked because in the past I have had a horrible experience here multiple times. Today's visit I forgot to take some photos. I just wanted to say how awesome the staff was. Our waiters name was Donovan, he was taking care of the whole section and let me say, the service was great! He made his rounds to every table and made sure everyone was good. When I say this man did great, he really did. You can tell he takes pride in his job and I appreciate that. The food came out very quickly as well, thank you to the kitchen staff for getting the food out quickly and it being delicious and still warm! Overall, due to the staff and the cleanliness, we definitely will be coming back more frequently. The price was also great, so much cheaper compared to IHOP and the food is still tasty. We also paid with our phone, which was awesome because no need to wait around waiting to pay. read more
