Every 6 or 8 years, you should get breakfast at Denny's just to remind yourself how much you hate Denny's and why you hate Denny's. I usually leave a 20% tip for normal to good service and a 10% tip for lousy service. Denny's is usually a "safe bet" restaurant but, a couple of times in the past year the experience has been less predictable and less inviting. There was a very unusual and unpleasant aroma in the entry way. The First Lady arriving at our table didn't understand English well and could only take one during order (she left and didn't return). Our server was very nice and friend but had the unpleasant task of having to return with the message that both our salmon entrees were unavailable. The food was tepid (unfortunate since I had soup) . I ordered a coffee and dessert..the dessert came out but the coffee didn't. When the waitress returned it was to deliver the check. She seemed surprised that my coffee wasn't brought. Had excellent service from my Server Octavio S. He deserve a raise each time we go in there really respectuful. Look, Dennys is Dennys, its standard diner food. What made us stop and give a review was the stellar service. Immediately as soon as we walked in we were greeted with a smile and a "how are you" Seated in seconds and welcomed by multiple staff, even those that weren't serving us. But the star was Melody, she absolutely went above and beyond to make our dining experience fantastic. She's better than half the servers we've encountered at fancy restaurants in Portland. If you're driving through stop and get the cinnamon roll pancakes those were actually pretty killer. read more

So I went to my go to here and yes it is Dennys. When I thought this place could get any cooler, my mind was blown away. The one Dennys in my travels that I have been too this one in Hermiston, Oregon was probably the best. Food was great as always. You can't go wrong with a all American slam, or when you go with a super bird. Those are always my meals of choice. Anyways this place has full blown bar and I Mean whatever you want, has tvs for you to watch sports and they have slot machines. Just so cool to have drink with your meals is totally amazing and especially at a classic place like dennys. Thanks guys! read more

Bourbon Chicken Skillet. It's been many years since the last time my husband and I had a meal at Denny's. We both had chicken. Hats off to Denny's. Thee vegetables were Andante. Service was wonderful, staff outstanding. Out server was Amber. I was able to enjoy a gluten-free meal I appreciate that greatly. We were pleasantly surprised. We walked into the door of the restaurant and the smell was so bad we turned around and found another restaurant .

The only real critic I have is the place smells of dirty mop. Seriously, replace that rancid mop.

I feel ill. I have to use the bathroom immediately after ingesting their food. No toilet paper in bathroom. The wings made me dizzy and the Mac and cheese tasted like metal. The service was okay I just would not recommend their wings for sure! read more

If I could give a zero star rating I would, My mother and I Just came from this Denny's and got the worst service, our table wasn't even checked on and I asked for well done hash browns and got a plate of greasy hash browns I felt disgusted and disappointed I honestly won't come to this location again EVER I will also let my family and friends about this experience. What a total waste of my money. I wanted to do curbside as I wanted to go home and eat there. I got there when they told me to be there. I called the number and was unable to get ahold of anyone and their voice mail was not set up. I went in and my breakfast was sitting at a table by the door where it was getting colder by the minute. I waited about 2 minutes and the girl finally came up and gave me my food. It didn't take me 5 minutes to get home and the food was cold. Their eggs Benedict was horrible. Never wears masks when I go to pick up orders. I tried to order online as the website was down and the waitress had horrible service her name was Maria. She could not understand me claiming her "phone" wasn't working. Get your shut together Dennys. I still remember when I was dining here and they found a dead body by the garbage in the back. My husband and I were traveling thru Hermiston and decided to stop in and have a bite to eat and a drink. We decided to sit in the lounge since we were having a drink. As soon as we sat down our waitress was there to see if we needed anything. She was so attentive to our needs, I believe her name was Lisa. Not long after we received our meals she told us the regular server for the lounge had come on shift and he would continue our service. I do not recall his name, but he had braided hair. They did not skip a beat, he continued right where she left off with the great service. They seemed to work wonderful as a team. The food was great, the service was exceptional, the restaurant was clean. We could not have asked for anything more. Next time we travel thru, we will be sure to stop again. We will be sure to tell our friends and family to be sure and stop at the Hermiston Denny's in their travels. read more

We were seated quickly the place was a little busy. We were asked 3 times what we would like to drink before someone even brought it to us. The hashbrowns were warm not hot the eggs were almost over easy but more like over medium. The waitress did ask if I would like my plate microwaved to warm it up. Both my husband and I agree, this is probably the best Denny's we've every been to. We decided to eat here the first time because it was literally about 50 feet from our hotel, but it was the surprisingly good food that brought us back a couple times during our repeat visits to the area. Our orders have only been burgers and fries, with the occasional shake, but each time the food was hot, fresh, and delicious. Take out dessert is not recommended especially with ice cream. So, the ice cream was already more than half way melted over the apple crisp by the time it was picked up. Why didn't the restaurant put the ice cream in a separate container? It was a take out order after all! read more

i took my family there last night 11/5/21 our server barley came to our table my mother in-laws mash potatoes was ice cold even after they took it back to them to have them remake it the shift lead or manager do not know who she was was nice enough to take the meal off for us the French toast tasted like it was pre made and they get it in frozen because it was still cold in spots like water wet our server stood and talked to her friends after I asked her if I could get something she only asked if we wanted a refill on our drink right when we were getting ready to leave I work in a restaurant she needs to work on her customer service better I hope management will see this we sat at the round table by the cash register even my daughter mashed potatoes was cold and the stem broccoli was cold if worst experience that I have gotten there yet read more

What's not to like about Denny's? There is a wide selection of "American food," for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, regardless of the time. The prices are fair and the food is consistent and tasty. Service was spot on. Stopped in on Friday for the prime rib special. 1/2 price for a really decent bottle of merlot -Awesome. Food and service was lightening fast with waitress stopping by several times to check in. awesome. All the sides were great. Unfortunately the prime rib although priced right was too fatty tasting for me. Guess it is the GMO corn fed beef or what ever they do didn't sell me. I ordered curbside pickup for my family today. Got there and parked in the designated parking 5 minutes before pickup time. Fast forward 20 minutes later, still nothing. I call and they let me know it IS ready. I ask them to bring it out (curbside, not inside pick up). They bring it out, I go home. I now have 2 drinks with no straws and no au jous for my Big Dipper melt sandwich. They weren't very busy, usually do better. Was not thrilled with cold food and missing items. read more

Worst food service I've had in a LONG time. First we walk in and are completely just sho'od off while we seat ourselves and look at the menu. Then we are seated and wait 10 minutes for our waiter. I asked another waiter to order our food and instead of helping us immediately, like I have ALWAYS seen done as courteous protocol to customers, she proceeded to order another tables food and she as well as three other waitresses spoke to each other for another five minutes deciding who would finally take our order. By the time we arrived and got our food, 20 minutes have passed. We could then hear them complaining about customers who don't like their service, which was BAD. It's Denny's, what do you expect?. After arriving in Hermiston Oregon after flying in from So. Cal I was exhausted and tired...between the TSA, Delta airlines, Best Western ( that is another review! ), and a bunch of other BS, I was in no mood to search for good food so I settled ...OK! Dimwit woman said, " Well, I like Nookies"....Now, normally I would make a snide comment after a response like this but I did pass a place called nookies on the way into town. It looked like your typical dive sports bar. I said to dimwit, " Oh, that must be the sports bar I passed on the way into town?" YES!!! said dimwit woman. Since I was totally burnt from the day, I, like an idiot chose Denny's. I chose the most expensive thing on the menu, the T-Bone Steak (actually, the t-bone and shrimp were more $$$ but there was no way I was going to order shrimp in Hermiston Oregon). The steak still had marks on it from where the jockey was whipping it, it was tough as shoe leather, yet cooked to perfection ( I ordered it medium ). This steak was so tough, it would kick the school bully's ass, it was so tough, the meanest pit bull on the street is scared of it. I will not even mention the two sides (Your choice of sides BTW, and they are so bad they would make you ex-girlfriend cry for you). The only reason I give this hell hole two stars is that it has a bar, yes folks a bar....and the waitresses pour the drinks...and they have no clue as to what is a shot vs 3 shots!...So, you end up getting a good drink at least...yes, the place has two redeeming qualities, a dumb staff and a bar So, if you are ever in Hermiston Oregon,first of all, I pity you, second, stay away form the Best Western , third, do not eat at Denny's, but feel free to get blasted in the bar at Denny's!. read more

I know most Denny's are the same, but the staff at this one is always great, no matter the time of day. I've been here for an early breakfast, late lunch, after-school snack, dinner, late-night snack and to go and have always had great service. Prime rib and chicken skillet was moist and delicious.

I know it's Denny's so I don't expect much but the chicken fried steak was disgusting. I'm not sure there was actually any meat in it. If there was it was definitely mystery meat. I remember when my son was little we would come here just for the chicken fried steak. I will however never get that again. I couldn't even make it half way through it. My stomach is already upset and I haven't even left the table yet. read more

Some really bad service. The greeter who served us was awesome. Wish I remembered his name. Our waitress was horrible. Jocelyn was her name if I remember correctly. Bad attitude and rude, came back only to bring the food and the check. So I had one refill. Pretty crappy service when there were two tables besides ours with only a few people. The food so so. Half the tables food was ok. My super bird sandwich was sad. My advice would be to hire friendly people. Even if they have to fake it. read more
