When my friend and I came in the server took our drink orders and did not come back with our water for at least 10 minutes. Then when our food arrived we noticed not only were the salt and pepper shakers empty but the sugar and sweetener container was empty too. They are definitely not doing their side work. It makes me wonder what's going on in the kitchen. Are they doing their proper cleaning in the kitchen if they're not doing their proper side work out on the floor? The service was definitely not great. Also the toast came with butter literally dripping out of it. I didn't even know what it was it looked like Hollandaise sauce has built on the bread. Well we decided to give Denny's a second chance and we regretted it. They are still cramming all their customers to one side of the restaurant for whatever reason. I ordered the French Toast slam. It comes with choice of sausage or bacon, needless to say they were out of sausage at 8:30 am in the morning ‍. How can a restaurant that serves breakfast be out of sausage? I have been so impressed with the Dennys in Selma. That we decided to give our own Denny's here in Hanford a visit to see if they were as good. Now I have not eaten here in 8 years I wanna say. That was the last time bcz the place was so bad. But the past year I have eaten at the Selma location and a couple of locations in Arizona and they are really good. So I've been wanting to give our local restaurant a try after 8 years. Walking in the place just does not feel clean. Idk what it is. But it just felt dingy. Maybe bcz of the crayon marks on the walls? Our table we were guided to was not clean. Neither was the seats. Dishes on other tables were just sitting there. However the staff was very nice and polite. This was the dinner hours. So we normally have breakfast at Dennys. So I knew going in it might be different. It didn't take long to decide what we wanted to eat and gave our server our orders. The food came pretty quickly and it looked pretty good. I was however aghast that the lady that brought us our food placed my food in front me then reaches over me and hands my wife her plate. I was like dam her body came real close to my food. It was so unprofessional. However I will say she was an excellent server. With the exception of this incident. I mean her boobs could have squished my burger. That's how close it looked. I had the bourbon burger and my wife had like a chicken bourbon concoction. It looked like a mish mash of stuff going on with a couple of chicken breasts on top. She said it was pretty tasty. So ok. The bourbon burger I had was actually good. It was definitely making up for the first impressions I was having coming in here. After eating we ordered a couple of slices of cheesecake with strawberries to go. This lady that almost squished my burger really hooked it up on the cheesecake. She loaded it up with strawberries. She really went the extra mile. I believe her name was Jessie. I asked the young man at the register her name and I believe I got it correct. Overall the staff was very good. The food? Eh I'd say it was so so. But hey. It's Dennys. Right? Idk about that kind of thinking. Bcz the Selma Dennys is amazing hands down! So it's all about the management. Just because this is a chain restaurant doesn't mean the good can't be good. It's all about the people caring about their craft. From being a server to being a cook. So idk if we will be back. I'm not gonna say this location isn't good. But they really are under staffed. So I'll probably stick to Dennys in Selma. read more

We were the only ones in at 6 am, my husband and I ordered a slam and 1 pancake. What we got was a plate with 4 eggs, 2 sandwich thin slices of ham and 2 pancakes. The eggs were not fully cooked, ham was awful and I couldn't swallow it. The only thing palateable was the pancake, my coffee was served cold and never got a warm up, husbands tea was bad, he didn't finish it, which is very unusual because he'd drink a restaurant dry on any other occasion. So poor service and poor food? Do better for what you charged $28. I'm not returning. read more

I just had a tremendously bad experience at this location. First off, all politics aside, economic times are tough for all. Seems like prices are up across the board. As such, when I go in for breakfast today, I order from the value menu because I am on a budget. The server does her job and tries to upsell everything she can for my loaded breakfast sandwich. I also order just water. I politely decline avocado or jalapenos and the loaded hash browns. It's okay though because she is just doing her job. From this point everything heads south. My food arrives and I have no silverware. I wait a bit and then I go up front and politely ask if she could bring me a setting. She says she will but a few minutes pass by and fortunately another young lady brings me a set. My server eventually does arrive and apologizes and says she will refill my water as I was getting low. She never returned and did not even bring the bill. I walked up to the register and had to point out my table so they could Ring me up. I feel that I was intentionally slighted because I wasn't a customer who was paying enough. They made me feel like they didn't value my business. Funny thing is we almost went to Farmer Bros across the street (I think that's what it's called), but were all pretty hungry and didn't want to be disappointed. We chose Denny's because it was a "sure thing". This is laughable, in hindsight. It was a terrible experience. Party of 5. All orders were incorrect (except 1 - kids meal).  2 people sent their food back because they included food items that couldn't be consumed (ie. meat for a vegetarian, & ham for someone who doesn't eat pork). The others, though dissatisfied, just ate the incorrect orders. Myself included.  My food was terrible. I mean, look at the skillet (pictured). The food didn't taste fresh. Everything was cold. There were hardly any potatoes. I'm not sure why someone would deliver anything that looks like this to a table. On top of that, all employees were either unmasked or improperly masked -- below the nose, and sometimes even under the chin. I don't usually come to Dennys, but needed to get a simple breakfast and get my day started. Food: I ordered eggs, bacon, sausage, hash rows, with sourdough toast. Overall the breakfast was satisfying, however bacon was shriveled up and very thin, I took a bite into sausage that was cold, toast was over buttered. Service: Felicity is on point, she knows her menu, leads the staff, to care of the cold sausage and replaced with bacon, which I requested. She also checked on me periodically. They brought us burnt and raw food that looked like they did it on purpose then had the nerve to give us a 10% discount on the food that we didn't even eat because it was so bad, and which we would've gotten the 10% discount anyways with the military discount. A friend and I had lunch at Denny yesterday afternoon 10/15/22 and I had such a nice experience there I absolutely wanted to write a review. Our server was a lovely young woman named Tanasha. She greeted us with a smile right away and it was a truly genuine and friendly smile. It wasn't an "I'm a waitress and you're a customer so I have to smile at you" kind of smile. Her eyes lit up and sparkled and it was such a nice greeting it made me feel like she really WAS happy to see me LOL. It probably sounds weird, but in this day and age a greeting like can make or break my whole day. She brought us our menus and asked us if we wanted something to drink, and then came back quickly with what we ordered, and since we were ready, she took our order. The service was great and the meal was exactly the way I ordered it even though I'm really picky about what I want on my hamburger. She even came back once before she brought it to double check and let me know that if I didn't get cheese on it, there wouldn't be peppers on it either. Since I don't like peppers, I was very happy to hear that and let her know. If I had gotten peppers on that burger, I would not have been happy and would have had to pick them off. So the fact that she came and double checked with me was impressive and appreciated. My burger was outstanding and my friend's super bird, he said was equally good. came back on a timely basis to refresh our drinks. This young woman is going to go far, because she has a go getter attitude is super warm and friendly, and anybody should be very appreciative to have her on their staff.
