We went at 3:30 am . No one there. It was dirty. Coffee was cold. They brought my young son chocolate milk in an large glass . Food wasn't any good . Both bathrooms had toilet paper all over the floor and toilets were dirty. Couldn't even use it. Dinning room had toast, eggs and paper on the floor at different spots so not from 1 table. I was staying at a hotel right next to this Denny's. I went in at a time when there were very few customers however it took an exceptionally long time to get my meal and it was not what I ordered so I had to again wait a long time for the meal. I did not order anything that wasn't on the menu or ask for anything out of the ordinary. Since I was tired from a long trip that day and had already waited too long I had the meal 'to go' and took it back to the hotel. The burger was hot and not bad but the fries must have sat while they remade my meal because they were cold and not eatable. This meal was a waste of my time and money! read more

Terrible take-out service. Could not even get my order in because they kept answering and telling me to hold for up to 10 minutes at a time, and they never got back to me! I know these sort of chain restaurants get busy, and especially along major highway routes, but it takes 30 seconds to place an order. They just lost a customer for life, for the entire chain! I'm writing this review especially to compliment our amazing waiter Jacob. Went there with my friend after a 12 hour drive, i got there before my friend and had to wait about 45 minutes for her to get there. I explained the situation to jacob and he was very understanding and never rushed me to put in an order, he just kept checking up on me to refill my coffee and water, all while smiling. My friend finally got there and were ready to order, we asked for a million adjustments and special requests and he got it all right. He even checked to make sure my eggs and steak were cooked exactly how i wanted them, and offered to redo anything that wasn't done how i like it. He is super wonderful, friendly and attentive. Both of our breakfast were cold when brought to our table. That is number one in the waitress handbook, do not bring cold food to the customer. And when we went to pay the man asked me if everything was OK I said both meals for ice cold and he said I'm sorry. I would like to know why they bother to ask if the meal was OK or not if they don't intend to do a thing about it. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. The staff here is unprepared and full of excuses. This establishment only excuse was - we are short staffed and have a lot of orders ahead of you, once you walk in the door. Mind you there is no line, half the tables are empty and the place is no where near capacity. On top of that there lack of preparedness if any seems to be passed onto the guests. We had to go to the front counter after 30 minutes just to demand someone take our order or at least take our drink order. If you see another place, please choose it, as this establishment in no way should reflect upon Gallup or New Mexico. Stopped in after checking into Holiday Inn Express. I usually don't care for Denny's but it was next door. The place was fairly busy and we were greeted immediately and seated within 3 minutes of entering restaurant. Drink order was taken as soon as we were seated. Waiter came with drinks within 4 minutes. Said he would be back to order. He took two other orders before ours and was back within 6 to 7 minutes. Waiter had a very outgoing personality. I wish I could rate less than one star. Let me caveat this rant by saying, I'm very easy to please. I've spent a lot of time in awful locations, eating awful food and have had to generally wait a long time for this food. I will say that the Loaded bacon, potato and steak skillet was amazing in flavor, but for the 10$ that I paid for it, I was most disappointed at the amount of food received. First, I called to make a to-go order and was put on hold. I could understand a few minutes, but after five I was over it. So then, I walked down to the restaurant and placed my order. The server said 15 minutes, but actually time was three times that. I try not to be particular about cooking time, cause I've worked in that kinda place before and I know what it's like to get slammed. But, there was not many people there at all. While I was waiting, three groups of people walked in, and after waiting about ten minutes, left because they were not even recognized. This all being said, literally, go anywhere else. Even if you are staying at a nearby hotel, go to subway or the gas station. This place does not care about you, your time, or the fact that three groups of people left, your money. read more

This is the place to go if you like going to kiddie land. Kids running around everywhere, parents not caring! The wait staff is very friendly and nice and the 2nd sandwich I had was fine. The first on the other hand was not! The cook tried to hide the burnt piece of bread on my club sandwich as the middle slice hoping I wouldn't notice....WRONG!!!! Haven't been here since they remolded the place. It looks very nice & clean. BUT. .the service is horrible!! We were seated & no one came to ask us for our order(drinks/food). We watched as 3-servers licked the boots of this rich looking couple & as the couple walked away they handed tips to each server. I guess you have to look rich to get service! Finally after 15mins of waiting my sister walks up to a waitress & asks if she can helps us. She was nice but she took a very loooong time on placing our food order & delivering it to our table. Our food was hard from being under the warmers for so long & my skillet was barley warm. Why order a sizzling skillet if it's barley warm?? This was the second-worst dining experience we have ever had (yeah...don't ask). It was a solid half-hour after we ordered that the food arrived and there were only two other occupied tables in the whole restaurant. Apparently the restaurant doesn't even own a food warmer, because everyone's plates were cold, and I mean COLD. What on earth were they doing back there that ALL the food had time to sit out on the counter and get cold? We were there with our six children. Normally we are not picky about our service because we understand that large groups are harder, and I can understand if it didn't all finish cooking at the same time and some of it had time to cool off a bit before they had time to bring it all out to the table, but all the plates had to have been sitting out at least 20 minutes, and not even under a warmer. The sausage and bacon were cold and shriveled--looked like yesterday's leftovers taken out of a plastic baggie and zapped in the microwave, then left out to get cold again. My husband likes to order a side of grits every time we get a Denny's breakfast so we know what to expect, but this time, I kid you not, they brought it out in a condiments bowl--one of the teeny bowls they put coffee creamers in! All the serving sizes were smaller than usual. The waitress was pleasant enough, but a little detached and the service was slow. Didn't even offer refills. OK, and maybe this is just being anal-retentive, but not long after we got there, another waitress clearly on a break because she was still in uniform, sat at the largest open booth in the dining room with three big plates of food all to herself. She plopped down loudly onto the bench with a great big audible-across-the-room sigh. I understand that waitressing is hard work and she was probably tired (at 9 am?). But then she turned to her food. Lovingly. Then scooped up the biggest spoonful of something fluffy and white (think mashed potatoes) that I have ever seen. It must have been at least a quarter cup glopped onto that spoon. I thought, "Surely not." I wanted to look away, but I just couldn't. "She won't," I thought. She did. She opened her mouth wide as a plane hangar door and stuffed that whole bite in, except for the little glob that dropped onto her chin, and started chewing. I couldn't help but furtively stare. I mean, right out in the dining room in front of the customers! And then when our our food finally came, it was so terrible and haphazardly prepared. And COLD! Did I mention that it was all cold? All in all, it was a really uncomfortable experience and we couldn't wait to get out of there. They were clearly far more interested in giving themselves a fabulous dining experience than the customers. read more
