Everyone working there was very polite. The server was great, even though they brought out the wrong omellette for me, my server told the lady who brought the platter exactly what I had ordered (she remembered it off the top of her head). The right order came out a few minutes later and food was good. The guy that cleans the tables, wow. He is a really hard worker, hope they give him a raise soon. Not all Denny's are created equal. My family and I have been here about half a dozen times and every single time, we are so pleased with our experience. The kids love their food, including the broccoli, the price is reasonable and above all, the people working there are ALL so pleasant. It makes such a difference. We will definitely be back. We had the dinner course special starting at 9.99$ Appetizer (salad/soup) Main course (meat, pasta, burgers) dessert (banana split, apple crisp, ice cream puppies (something like that) I had the chicken bourbon skillet, this was a 6/5 dinner meal for me. I came here with a group of 8 friends and got seated pretty quickly. The place does get packed especially on morning weekends. Denny's is a typical breakfast joint. They are known for their breakfast skillets which are pretty good. The skillets come sizzling hot with potatoes, eggs, cheese, and whichever option you ordered. It looks like a little, but is actually very filling. They also have a value section in their menu, which included sides and extra food at a pretty cheap price. I ordered a stack of pancakes for $2 from that section. The service was decent. The server took our order quickly and the food came soon after. The manager came over to see how we were doing. Ate here this past week for dinner as we were in the area and wanted a place off the boardwalk that wasn't busy and Denny's fit the bill. The ordering process was slow as our server "S" was far more interested in talking with co-workers than actually moving to get things for our table and the other tables she was servicing. It also seemed that there was only one person on in the kitchen because after most people placed their order all of the servers would then stand around and talk with each other for what seemed like 10-15 minutes and then all of the sudden a bell in the kitchen would start to ding and then a big batch of food would come out all at once only to then have nothing come out for the next 10-15 minutes. The food itself was nothing special as this place is billed as a Denny's Diner and it served up diner style food. Nothing special but nothing bad. Overall the food it not priced badly but the service and kitchen speed is not the same as a regular diner and if you go expecting to just get and get out you had better give yourself a lot of extra time or just eat somewhere else on the Pike. read more

After Yelp's Winter Break II we ended up here. Not the mom and pop stop I wanted, but it would have to suffice. And it did. I felt like we waited a while for our food, but we did order a lot of random stuff...salads, burritos, pancakes, etc. Two of my friends ordered coffee, but he didn't leave the decanter on the table. The place was clean, the waitress pleasant, and the food pretty darn good! It was a short hop, skip and jump from our hotel, and the perfect place to recharge our batteries for the day! I'd recommend the Ultimate Skillet! One thing though, and it's no reflection on Denny's, but rather endemic to the local population- and that is- if one says hello, or good morning- the people here don't respond. After hearing my boyfriend and his friend talk about Denny's , we decided to grab brunch at Denny's before attending a discussion event. I signed up for Denny's rewards the day before and instantly got a 20% off our bill from our brunch. The staff was pretty friendly except for one woman that was working at the cashier. Our waiter was very friendly and always checked up on us. For the five of us, we sure ordered a heck lot of food and it was very filling. Denny's has this menu dedicated specifically to bacon-related foods and I couldn't refuse so I got the BBQ Bacon Mac n' Cheese Bites since they sounded so tempting. They were not what I really expected. They were crunchy and cheesy on the inside. I didn't really taste bacon. I ordered an iced coffee and was so happy to see that they do free refills on iced coffee. For my brunch, I had the: Ultimate Omelette which was a three-egg omelette with sausage, bacon, fire-roasted peppers, onions, mushrooms, diced tomatoes, and shredded Cheddar cheese. The omelette sure packed a lot of ingredients in it. It was very filling. The hash browns were mediocre. My boyfriend ordered the pancakes from the value menu. This particular Denny's in Absecon is not that great. Considering it is only Denny's, there is still an expectation of quality. The service was ok, the food was not. My bourbon burger was very greasy, to the extent that the bun was oil soaked and it was sloppily put together. Our server was not accommodating when we voiced our detailed dissatisfaction with the food (which reflected in her tip) and overall the experience was that of the dining experience in a impoverished/low income section of the city. read more

Went to eat after visiting a bar. It was a typical Denny's, clean, good menu and nice waitresses. I ordered crepes with bacon, eggs and hash browns. I don't usually eat that much but I hadn't drank much and the crepes looked delicious. I told the waitress I was VERY picky about my eggs and liked them cooked hard. I didn't have much faith in the chef because my meaning of scrambled hard usually means the eggs are barely held together by solid egg. I was thrilled when my eggs came hard and brown! It's a Denny's, seemed a bit old fashioned/ needs updating. Went for the experience, and to have Denny's since the last time I had it was when I was a little kid. It may have given it more stores if we werent sat right outside the bathrooms and had a bug zapper light right on the wall right behind our table. I have never seen waitresses work harder in my life than they do at this Denny's! Every table was filled to capacity and the people waiting for tables spilled out into the parking lot, yet I only had to wait about 10 minutes for my food after ordering it. All the Grand Slam breakfast deals are here and accounted for. And because I am me, I had to order a grilled cheese sandwich. Denny's serves up a great sandwich with not too much cheese sliding out on crispy sourdough bread. The sandwich is listed on the senior citizen menu, but don't let that stop you from ordering it. For $6 you get the sandwich with tomato and a side of really good fries. I can also recommend the Cherry Cherry Rickey (a lime rickey with yummy cherry syrup). read more

This Denny's was crowded. The service was good. Do not take the 3 stars for a lack of quality service or food. It is more of a reflection of a lack of a good rating system. No Denny's on earth would ever warrant above a 3 star rating out of 5 stars I mean I gave Minetta Tavern 4 stars. Still I like Denny's a lot! When we are out of town we usually look for a Denny's for breakfast. Our server was Chris C. He was really nice. He came across like a hard working single dad. Just a story I made up for him! I always stop here on my way home from Atlantic City. The place is always clean and the prices are right. My most recent visit was this past monday, and I have to say the service was painfully slow. The server informed us that they had a couple of people who hadnt showed up for work so I'm gonna give them a pass, cause all the other times I've went, they've been pretty good. The food was good as always, I had the bacon avocado burrito which is bacon, avocado, 2 scrambled eggs, cheese, pico de gallo,& chipotle sauce. It was real good even though it took forever to get!! Where do I start.... I ordered on the delivery website and waited over an hour just to find that they don't deliver to my location. Pretty ridiculous considering it let me order with my location. After that I talked to a manager multiple times and couldn't even reach the customer service line. Ended up having to drive out to the Dennys because apparently I was unable to cancel the order. When in Rome... So a friend wanted to meet a friend here for whom it was convenient so I wound up at Denny's for the first time in quite a while. I was surprised by how friendly the staff was. It's a swift departure from what I was used to at our old Philly Denny's. Everyone from the host, to the waiter, to the cashier. Our waiter was great... talkative... but great. As much as I wanted breakfast late that night, I played it safe and went with a burger (bacon and cheddar... usual stuff). I actually forgot to tell them no tomato, but this time I actually liked it... loved it. It was a great balance to sandwich that I'd normally toss out. I also tried those "pancake puppies" (not a fan of that name) and they were pretty good. I'm glad I ordered the smaller batch because they were a little bigger than I expected. And no one else had any room left to share them with me. They remind me of Chinese donuts but thicker. They also had them in strawberry and I regret not getting those instead. It's a Dennys, so the food is not gonna win any awards, but Fit Slam is pretty good.. Rockine, the waitress often working in the mornings at the counter, is pretty friendly and very funny.
