The service was great, the staff exceptional, and the food spot on. I skipped the traditional breakfast fare the chain is known for, opted for a Cobb salad instead, and I'm really glad I did. The Prime Rib Cobb Salad offered a nice twist on the classic rabbit bowl. The perfectly cooked warmth of the rib meat paired with the cold and crisp veggies made for the ultimate late lunch mid shopping day. I opted for the classic bleu cheese dressing and it turned out to be the metaphorical cherry on top. Doubt it was, but it tasted homemade. The dish was just dense enough; not too heavy, not too light, but just enough to keep me fueled for the next few hours. Also, the portion size blew me away! I NEVER bring home a doggy bag, but the size of this salad had me begging for a takeout box. The whole place was quiet. Not so quiet that I could hear my own thoughts, but no loud noises either. No whining kids, no yells coming from the kitchen, no waitresses trying to hard for a tip. No "honeys" or "darlings" or "sweeties". The tables spotless, the floor cleaned, the dishes spotless...the dining area was as clean as it was calm. Couldn't have asked for a better atmosphere to unwind and enjoy some really good home cooked food. I rated four out of five stars ONLY because the bill was a little higher than I expected for my family of four and our glasses went unfilled a tad longer than expected. If I could rate this place less than 1 star, I would. This is quite possibly the worst restaurant in Fort Smith and definitely one of the worst Denny's in the country. Severely understaffed, most of the employees are untrained and impolite. The wait times to be acknowledged and finally seated are outrageous. Even worse the wait times for food orders are well past an hour. The utensils and glasses are dirty, the food comes out cold, the servers are are ghosts. If I were able to I would have this Dennys shut down permanently. Completely unacceptable. read more

The great thing about Denny's is that they are open all night. I tend to eat very late and always enjoy this location. The staff is friendly, the service is fast, and the food is excellent. The Fort Smith location is recently remodeled and very clean. I like how the menu has been changing with new things added. For a person that doesn't cook, there is always something new for me to try and enjoy. This last visit I tried a new hamburger, and it was probably the very best hamburger I've ever eaten. No joke! I eat out 7 nights a week and Denny's in Fort Smith, AR (40 minutes from where I live) is one of my favorite places to go for a sit-down meal. I've been going there on my birthday for the past 10+ years. I don't get to eat at this location as often as I'd like, but each time I do it's a wonderful experience. Lowsy service. My family and I went to Denny's for brunch. When we first got there we asked if we could be placed at a table, since my partner and I are bigger people. The hostess and a waitress both acted like we were a bother and were confused on where to place us. Then we placed our order. First our drinks weren't even brought to us til we had been sitting there for 30 mins. Then we waited another 30 mins for our food. Before they brought us our food, my partner witnessed the waitress bringing the food we ordered for our kid to another person's table. Then when they brought our food, they brought my partner's and my food and said we had to wait for our kid's food. And then throughout the entire time, the waitress assigned to our table couldnt be bothered to refill our drinks. We wont be coming back to Dennys ever again. read more

Tonight I had the worst experience ever in Denny's Fort Smith restaurant! The service was slow, waited about 15 minutes for coffee, which they brewed a new pot which we appreciated but no one told us they were making it fresh or told us why we were not served sooner. When the coffee and cream arrived we had no silver wear I went and asked for it and they only had one set was told they would bring us more. Finally ordered our food ( dessert only) waited about 25 minutes before it was served, still only one set of silver wear...had to go back and ask again still no silver wear. when we tried to state our reason for complaining we were told not to come back to the restaurant, she did turn around and add on her shift. I asked for a number for corporate and was told to google it! Rudest waitress I have encountered and she didn't have to say don't come back because I won't. The sad part is I have been there during the day and had a very good experience. They need better training on the night shift. We were there almost an hour waiting for coffee and dessert. read more

Let me tell you, this place has really improved! I heard that they had a new manager and looks like they have a whole new crew! We haven't been to Denny's in 2 years because of such bad service and this time we had Jamie s as our server and she was just the sweetest thing ever!She made sure my lumberjack slam came out nice and hot. Just went here and left! This place is HORRIBLE!! The waitress was incredible!! Our issue was with the food! First off my GF said specifically no mushrooms since she is highly allergic to mushrooms!! As you can see the waitress rang it up correctly! As soon as the food was brought out we pointed out to the waitress hey there is mushrooms in this and she again cannot have mushrooms and she took it away to fix it and she was completely polite and accommodating. We had I believe a manager come out to talk to us telling us it was basically our fault there was mushrooms in the food because we didn't specify she was allergic when we did and it was clearly on the ticket which hey it's ok stuff happens! But as my 3 year old daughter was eating her hash browns you can easily see there is it looks like green plastic of some kind in her food and that was it for me! Yes I paid the bill and no I wasn't waiting for a manager at this point! I left the cash on the table while the waitress gave us our check and we left! Denny's specials of the month are their EXTREME Skillets (apparently they are so EXTREME that it must always be capitalized like that). They have their Crazy Spicy Skillet, Supreme Green Skillet, Mighty Meat Lover's Skillet, and Wild Salmon Skillet. Each one is more EXTREME than the last!!! They're so EXTREME that you're handed a special menu featuring them, and only them, as soon as you walk into the door. That way the spineless wimps of the world can run out of the building screaming like a cheerleader if they find being face to face with the skillets to be too EXTREME. You're also given a regular menu in case you're slightly EXTREME but you really just want a Rise and Shine breakfast. I took the skillet menu, because I'm so hardcore, and headed to the table. I didn't even bother to open the menu. As soon as I saw the Crazy Spicy Skillet on the cover my EXTREME juices started flowing and I couldn't wait to chow down. I was so pumped that I was hoping it could take a few extra minutes to cook so I would have time to bungee jump from the roof of Denny's. Just seeing that skillet got me so jazzed up that I started looking around the dining room for a wild animal I could wrestle with my bare hands and then make a lovely coat from his hide. Here's the conversation that went on between the waitress and me: Me: I MUST HAVE THE CRAZY SPICY SKILLET AND I MUST HAVE IT NOW! (I was so pumped about being so EXTREME that I was actually shouting) Waitress: We're not doing the skillets today. Me: Why not?! Waitress: On that one, we're out of mushrooms, fajita flavoring, bell peppers, and chorizo. Me: But.. why was I even given the menu? Waitress: *shrug* Me: Check, please. Listen, if you run a restaurant and you're not organized enough to maintain the quantity of food you need then I really begin to question if you're on top of things like quality and cleanliness. Having my mind so set on taking my breakfast to the EXTREME, I drove down the road to IHOP and had a Rootie Tootie Fresh and Fruity breakfast. Waiting for a table and got the server Erin (female). She led us to a table but I asked if I can get a booth instead. She quickly grabbed the menus from the table with an annoyed look on her face and literally threw the menus on top of the booth and walked off. She went to the server Shana and basically told her to take care of us because.... (I couldn't hear all she said) Prior to this I told my sister who was with me, that I was already hesitant about coming because of other experiences I've saw with other people. It happened to be us today. My sister was furious and I could see tears in her eyes and was saying for us to leave and I said no we're going to sit down and which Shana definitely turned this experience around for us and assisted in every way that she could. The new general manager did come speak to us as well and we also appreciate how she handled the situation and made us feel. Shana and the General manager did a fantastic job! To be honest if it wasn't for them I would've given the ratings a 1 for sure but they changed our minds and we loved how sympathetic they were with us and the customer service they provided! read more

Wait staff was sparse but who they had was very good. The breakfast sausage links are horrible. The breakfast ham tasted like it was expired. Eggs were not cooked as ordered.
