Food was sub-par. Looking at the past reviews, there has been no consistency over time. Like... these dishes don't look like the pictures! Hash Browns weren't crispy, heat probably set to high just to "sear" one side but the inside was just steamed or raw potato. The photo I inserted does not do it justice to show how small the portions were on these dishes. Not sure if this was all because my group ordered the "build your own..." but I would just get the preset breakfasts if I visited next time- like the All-American Slam which I forgot to get a photo of. Service was fine. I wasn't able to get a name or anything but she did her job well. Just wished we were checked in on more since I wasn't sure which section of the diner she was assigned to that morning? Ambiance was fine, it looked pretty busy but didn't feel chaotic or anything. My main complaint was the food. read more

Honestly what happened to this place?? It used to be pretty good, but it fell off. We had poor service, found a piece of PLASTIC in our food, we were charged extra on items we weren't aware cost extra, we asked for creamer and our server said "oh you don't need it, you don't want to get diabetes." Like what?? I am disappointed and we will no longer be dining here ever again. read more

I would like to rave about our favorite waitress, Norma Torres. I used to take my father with dementia there regularly and each time she would treat my father with so much love and respect. She would put a smile on his face like no could . He has now passed away, but I just want to thank Norma for the love and great service. read more

Horrible service today and everything was off with the server. Didn't get my full order, no refills, even my toast was burnt. When I brought these issues to Adriana's attention, it's like she was bothered by it. I'll be sure to let the host know not to sit me with her again. read more

2.5 Parking is tough here. There are spots in front and, if full, have to go around the other side down an alley like area with parking on side. We came in this morning and found it swamped. I'm not sure if the hotel attached give free or discounted breakfasts but it seemed more than just locals. It was loud and crazy. It took a long time to be seated and never asked for drink orders. We sat for a while but decided to leave and take a chance somewhere else. I still appreciate Denny's kindness during the fires when we sat, ate and talked with fellow evacuees. That keeps their score higher than just today's visit. read more

I must admit I didn't expect anything special at a Denneys and was pleasantly surprised. Even as busy as they were (and they were very busy, we were seated quickly and our server was bringing coffee shortly after. I ordered a senior plate with egg, bacon, hash browns and pancakes. My husband ordered country fried steak and eggs. Everything was well prepared with the pancakes perfectly cooked and very tasty with or without syrup. My husband was also happy with his steak stating he could enjoy the meat without it being overpowered by breading. Hash browns were well prepared with crispy outsides. This is my new favorite early morning breakfast Restaurant in El Centro. read more

I called to order for pickup and the call center person didn't seem to know what he was doing! He kept saying I couldn't have hash browns with the build your own breakfast, then he apologized and said I can have it back and forth, very confused he kept apologizing. It took no less than 15 minutes to take my order and when I went to pick it up it was ready (great) but the order was wrong, it had double hash browns, wrong kind of bread extra pancakes that I didn't order. I looked at the check and it had 5 added items at extra cost. Terrible!!! If they are going to taking orders from a call center train your people how to do proper order taking!! The people at the restaurant were very helpful and fixed it for me. 0 stars for the order taker, 4 stars for the restaurant people. Good job read more

Always quick! Polite and welcoming service. It is a busy spot and yet the service is fast and no wrong orders.

Came here and ordered the beyond Burger. Double checked with server Maricela to make sure I was getting the Beyond Burger. Eventually the burger arrives, and it is a beef burger, not the beyond burger. I inform Maricela about this, and she insists it is the Beyond burger. Eventually I am able to talk to someone else who says they will re cook what I actually ordered and bring me a beyond burger. It arrives, but there's still beef on my plate. Our server Maricela also did not bring any of the sauces she said she would, and the only napkin she brought I had to use to put the beef that i needed to pick off my plate in order to consume the meal. I don't know how difficult it is for Maricela to respect the fact I do not eat meat, or why she was incredibly rude the entire time, but this was honestly the worst restaurant experience I have had in the last 5 years. read more

Adrianna G. was the best server. She checked on our table and asked if there was anything we needed. She bought our food quickly. The order was correct. I appreciated her candor. It was a good experience. The food was good. The burger was amazing and it was huge. On to the host I don't remember his name, he was hilarious. I appreciated his humor. We walked in and he says "how many", I say three and he's like did you make a reservation...we look around and the place is nearly empty. We laughed so hard. I told him we didn't get that memo. Give that man a raise that joke definitely made our day. read more

Went to Denny's for my birthday breakfast. We go every year. They have changed their approach and menu. We had to have a qr code on an app on our iPhone. It took a while to get it set up which was frustrating. Then you could only order the original Grand Slam not the build your own. My husband always orders the senior turkey sandwich but it is no longer on the menu. So he ordered some other turkey sandwich. It was grilled on the griddle (greasy), had a teenie piece of tomato and no other vegetables. Three slices of turkey. Too much grilled cheese. And some bacon. It was big, greasy and filling but very uninteresting. He ordered fruit cup instead of fries or rings. They charged extra which we argued about (not told and never did before). So no more birthday breakfast At Denny's for us. Felt a bit like a battle. We still enjoy their pancakes and French Toast. But they are probably better off without us. read more

You can check my review history that I rarely left bad review, especially on a joint restaurant. I don't even bother reviewing joint restaurant. But seriously this is the most horrendous dining experience I ever had. I usually have no problem with slow service because I understand how it is when restaurant is packed, especially in the valley. But oh boy I was at the verge of walking out. The food were nasty. Everything in our order was burnt. Check the pictures that I posted to see that I'm not lying. It's disgusting. I didn't bother sending it back because it would take forever for me to get my food. Seriously you uphold yourself as "breakfast restaurant" and screw up a plain toasts (by burning it), seriously. How can you see an obviously burnt toast and dare to serve it to customer? Unprofessional and incompetent. I will never come back. I'd rather pay more and eat at Broken Yolk or even another joint like IHOP. read more

The service was great at this Denny's. As we approached the restaurant, one of the employee's that was mopping the outside floor, greeted us. As soon as we went inside, the manager greeted us with a friendly joke and he was very welcoming. Claudia was very friendly and super attentive. The food was good and the service was excellent. The restaurant was very clean. I would definitely come back. read more

My friend's son called her and wanted to go to Denny's for a late breakfast so we postponed our mallwalk and headed over here this morning. We were seated right away and got excellent service the entire time we were here. I was going to get a grilled cheese until I saw the breakfast skillet with Prime Rib on it. Hmmm, sounded good for $8.99. I had a 20% off your entire meal coupon I got from my motel in AZ and gave it to her since she was getting the bill--it gave us over $6 off! The sizzling plate came with a not-too-large (just right for me) fluffy scrambled eggs folded over perfectly good hash browns (I like mine cooked a little longer so they are brown and crunchy), a good-sized pile of grilled bell peppers and onions, a respectable amount of well-done prime rib, and sides of salsa, sour cream, and flour tortillas. The meat was so moist and tender I could easily cut it with my fork, never needed my knife. The amount was perfect, I was hungry and ate every bite. The flavor and quality were right on. My dread at going to a chain disappeared as soon as I tasted everything. I wouldn't hesitate to order this again. Good job, Denny's! read more

We like this location. Food was great! Service was slow but friendly and cordial. I like the veggie omelette.

Denny's is always a favorite with my family and this location is no exception good service good food with a friendly atmosphere although parking is a bit cramped due to the hotel being right next door. It can get a little noisy in the evenings due to the Amigo rooms music but its not too loud it disturbs the meal you can just hear that it's there. They have a full menu of breakfast to dinner with desserts along the way, don't forget to try the (Western Burger) for some BBQ greatness. read more

We pulled up to this Denny's on Thanksgiving day and I was feeling so sad that there would be no turkey for me and certainly no celebration, well I couldn't of been more wrong! The place was clean and packed with people in a celebratory mood and although the servers were unbelievably busy,They put me in a joyous spirit and serve me up a most delicious turkey dinner! I just walked out. We got seated and no one ever came and got my order, sat there for 15 minutes . The restaurant doesn't look busy at all, and people that got seated after I did already have drinks? A bit of higher class, drunk food. I can't bash this place, not even in the slightest. Of the two Denny's locations, I do prefer the one by the mall, but this one is closer to home, making it a convenient pit stop post night out post alcohol consumption. To top it off, as of the past 6 months, the bar inside Denny's/Hotel it's attached to (The Amigo Room) is poppin on Wednesday's! $2 pitchers of beer? Hmmmm...not sure any bar in the area can compete with those prices. But I'm not here to review the bar! Sorry! The restaurant itself is kept clean considering all the traffic of highly intoxicated subjects walking through their doors. The wait staff is extremely friendly, no matter what hours you arrive. The food on the menu during the late hours is the kind of calorie filled deliciousness you crave when you're a bit on the hammered side. Even the option of breakfast?? Beer munchies HEAVEN. Don't come here expecting steak and lobster. I absolutely hate when people rate places on a high scale when they aren't steak and lobster joints. This place satisfies the crowd it aims for. If you're looking for lobster in The Valley, first and foremost, you're out of luck...and if you're drunk, browsing around Denny's at typical drunk hours looking for lobster...you're especially out of luck. Good service, average food, good selection, very good price.. I'm content. read more

This is the Denny's you can see driving from the 8 freeway, a sure stop for my family when we travel from San Diego to Arizona or it's open late if you just happen to be crusing around in El Centro and you have the munchies. My service has been pretty prompt and the place is neat and clean. A good selection of pretty good food you can order. I dig getting the grand slam or their fries are ok, but with a side of their ranch dressing it makes them super awesome. And they are open late to cater to my vampire hours, I like that a lot! read more

Long wait when the place was not all that busy. We had a group of about seven or eight. The food came out sequentially, minutes apart. If was as if the cook could only work on one thing at a time or something. Worse, they missed several requested items that we had to reorder. The waitress seemed stressed and not very attentive. I don't expect a lot from a Denny's, but I would give this place a zero rating even at that. read more

I know where I'm eating when I'm at Denny's. Used to eat there when we toured with a rock 'n' roll band 30 years ago and we refused to let anybody get a menu and hold up the food.
