My friends and I were looking for a nice diner to get a decent late night meal, the meal we had here couldnt have been further from that. The food and service were absolutely horrendous. Some of the worst in recent memory. We had a fair sized group, five of us, nothing to crazy. It was around 10 pm and although there was a large group of maybe a dozen seated nearby, business seemed rather managable. Apparently, not the case! We were seated promptly, were given menus and waters but suddenly it went on a break-necked plummit downhill from there. After mulling over our menus for a few minutes, we waited for our waitress... and waited... and waited... AND WAITED! At this point, we had exhuasted our limited supply of water and were all reaching a point of dehydration. After waiting what was probably 20 minutes, we finally placed our orders and got our waters refilled. EXCEPT SHE FORGOT MINE! Had it not been for one of my friends, I might have dehydrated fully. I would've shrivelled up like Voldemort and died. Now we waited about 45 minutes for our food, which all was luke warm at best. Definetly only kept warm from the heat lamps. And one of our friends didnt even get her food in time! She didnt get her food for an additional 25 minutes! By then we were mostly done with our very bland microwave tasting meals. At this point, we just wanted our checks so we could get the hell out of there. It took another 45 minutes before we could just get our checks. We are have worked in the service industry for years at various jobs, as we are all college students, so we have a much larger understanding and more patience then your average customer. BUT THIS WAS RIDICULOUS! There was trash and dirty dishes everywhere which really added to the welcoming, cozy atmosphere. They were fully staffed but didnt act like it whatsoever. We all agreed, worst service we've had in a LONG time! After what felt like several years in this run down mediocre diner, I felt as though dementia and gray hairs were coming on to my 22 year old self. We finally paid, left no tip and got the hell out of there! If you have nothing to do, have so much time to kill that its depressing, or like very meh food; go to this Denny's! Hell, you could probably read a novel in between getting refills so great for book clubs I guess! read more

Today I'm giving two stars. Why? Because I understand how waitressing is and being under staff. Here is my thing.. There is a wait, completely understandable. It's Sunday, what else can you expect honestly. No issues until seated, which was not knowing who our waitress was. We waited for a good while, that a table of 6 all knew what they wanted already while still waiting to put our drink order in. Come to find out by asking another waitress, the boss on staff had her checking out customers at the cash register rather than greeting and helping her tables while having her train someone at the same time when being under staffed (told by another waitress) and slammed. Yet the boss was in the back the whole time. Hmm. This Denny's always seems to have its ups and downs. Everyone that came after us seemed to be getting their food before us, ate and left while we still sat and waited for our food to be delivered when we finally gotten that chance. It seemed our food order wasn't put in fast enough but the other waitress on the floor seemed to have her connection with the cooks in the back to get free food and things for the wait or mistakes she made while we have been seated and waiting for a 1hr+ to be helped, to order and then even more to get our food. We arrived at 10:30, we left at 12:45. THATS SAYING SOMETHING! We ordered a soup to get before our food that seemed to be asked on multiple times just to find out that it was never put on the stove. It came out and it was watery and gross with only a few noodles in a tiny bowl. We also had a appetizer that came 30 mins latter that wasn't what we asked for and when our drinks came, the oj's were sour and watery which was sent back. I myself had a coffee which happened to spill all over me because I was given a broken mug which was cracked down the side and bottom (not a fun moment). We had so many issues on this visit but wanted nothing more than to enjoy our family time and not make issues which was rather hard knowing everything seemed to be one. We left paying for everything even tho the oj's and soup were not good and the experience was less than welcoming. Definitely have mixed feelings about this place now. read more

The food is okay. I've been there many times because it's one of the only places open in the middle of the night. Substituting sliced tomatoes for hashbrowns gets a pre-sliced, refrigerated grainy nasty pair of slices which are inedible. At night they often seat near the bathroom, which lends a lovely industrial urinal cake smell to your dining experience. The waitstaff are usually okay (not bad, not great). The restaurant is run-down, and you have to wait a long time to be seated or pay at the register. Frankly, it's the good location that keeps this place in business. read more

Probably the worst Denny's I've been to. Ordered online and was quickly shooed away. When I got there they handed me someone else's order and I had to come back for a correction and they all started to holler at each other asking "what do they want???" "I don't know door dash or something" then they started saying what order? They didn't get an order then continued to accuse us of never placing an order but thankfully I had screenshotted the order placement! Had to sit there and wait and no one told me they had to cook it I just put two and two together. No apology just a rushed here that should be right. Will not be returning to this location. No one knew about the ad on tv for $4.99 special. I ordered what I thought was the special....I was served what they chose to give me for $7.99. When I disputed the price and items, I was told there are so many "SLAM " specials, it is hard to tell the difference. The manager was very apologetic and deducted the extra amount. Ironic that the plate I was served had less food items than the special at $3 less. Mgr told me the cheaper offer has less "portions"! My pancakes were not warm by the time we were served syrup. No one offered refills on coffee and our scrambled eggs were also cold. The manager, (new to this Dennys) was checking on customers often. When he has his staff trained, I'm sure it will be better. read more

I came here the other day and the service was amazing and the food (for what it is) was good. Everything came out in a timely manner and as ordered. The only thing: the restaurant floor was messy. It just looked like they'd had a huge rush of families and there were napkins, food, etc all over the floor. I honestly didn't mind that much but for a review's sake... If our server hadn't been so absolutely adorable and sweet it would have bothered me more. read more

Me and a bunch of friends came in after an exhausting pool day for food and were met with the most amazing service from our waitress! Not only was she kind and funny, but she also made sure we were completely taken care of and went above and beyond to make sure we had a good experience! She was the only waitress there yet we got our food and drinks incredibly fast for being a party of 10. The food was amazing and we talked about Lorna the entire drive home because of how wonderful she made us all feel. I never write reviews, especially for restaurant, but for Lorna I really had to. My friends and I will probably remember this dinner for the rest of our lives due to how much kindness we are shown tonight. Amazing work Lorna!! i don't know if the day i went people called in or they're just understaffed but there was no one in front of us and half of the tables were full and no one was in front of us. i was in a party of 4 and they started cleaning off a booth for us after i gave them my name. then we just sat in the waiting area and watched a cricket walk between us for about 15 minutes. there was about 4 other groups that came in behind us and they never took their name during that time. we finally got seated and our drink order was taken and given, then the waitress took our food order. we waited literally 40 minutes for the waitress to come back and say our order never went through when she put it in. also during that time only two groups after us were seated and one of those groups got their food before the waitress even came and told us. SO we left, not worth it. we went to iHop it was much better with no wait and the food was delicious. didn't have Denny's food because they don't pay attention and just doesn't have enough people working there. read more

Avoid this place like the plague! When they only have one server and one cook things are going to go bad. Every dish was cooked inconsistently such as burnt pancakes on one side and raw on the other. Bacon bits and ends burnt next to soggy, fatty undercooked pieces. It took an hour wait for bacon and eggs and pancakes. Every dish came out wrong and missing items. The food arrived in stages almost 20 min apart. This place shouldn't be in business till they can get their act together. Former staff came in to hang out complaining about how 5 of them quit this morning. Saw servers making salads with bare hands throwing vegetables together... you get the picture. We stopped to try Denny's for the first time. It took close to ten minutes to get a seat, and then we waited... and waited... and waited... and no one even took a drink order. People were sat all around us and were promptly greeted, one person sat down after us and had his meal before anyone even acknowledged us. So we left, and no one seemed to notice or care. I don't understand why anyone would eat here when there is a Waffle House literally right next to it. We will never return to this or any other Denny's. read more

Cautious, but Optimistic. I am hoping that when I go to pick up my To Go order shortly, that my order is correct. I stopped going to this Denny's location in Denton about 2 years ago. They could never get my order right. I would order a burger with no cheese. EVERY single time, it had cheese on it, so I started getting my burgers at Cracker Barrel. I did survey's expressing my displeasure and NEVER heard back from anyone. However, I have been reading more recent yelp reviews that this particular Denny's has made some major improvements. I'm a forgiving person, so I thought I'd give them one more try. I will return to write an honest review, once I have received and tried my current order. I'm bout to go pick it up. The food is good, but the owner treats women terribly. He ran off a good manager, and he seems more bent on making money than on providing a quality service. Each time I am there, I feel badly for the waitresses who work hard despite being understaffed, and despite not always having the food they need on hand. Terrible management by the owner. read more

The waitress was very nice. That's the only good thing about this experience. We waited for an hour and it was freezing in there. The staff was very nice, I do believe they were short staff but there were only 8 tables full and if it was busy (for them) at least have the host or someone ask what you would like to drink right away, and maybe say something like we are running behind but will be right with you or something. I put my jacket and scarf back on because they served the table next to me before me (and I was there first) and as I was getting up the waitress finally took my order. I would normally walk out but I was hungry and didn't want to run into the same situation someplace else. Like I said the staff was nice but at least communicate and ask what you would like to drink. read more

Here at Denny's tonight we came and no one would sit us down every server would look at us and give a ugly look like I'm to busy or that's not my job ,I was like there reflecting the type of manager they have an inexperienced one who doesn't know how to run a restaurant but to my surprise the bus boy a older gentleman chased down a waitress and told her there's people waiting to be seated with a look on his face that shows he takes pride in his job. The manager should be fired and this guy trained to run the place anyways that's my opinion for what it's worth I own a business in Denton called Arc Interior solutions we sell about half a million per year in commercial office furniture hopefully someone at Denny's corporation will read this review. read more

Denny's is, well, Denny's however, not all Denny's are the same. Menu yes but service and management makes a huge difference. This Denny's is frequented by our Wednesday morning breakfast club of 12 people because of certain wait staff. There's been a lot of changes to the wait staff and management in the 10+ years this club has been meeting for breakfast. It's kind of hit or miss as far as service goes. The food is consistently decent. The service on the other hand can be anywhere from right on top of things to taking ridiculous amounts of time to get orders taken, water on the table, coffee on the table and food on the table. We never really know what we're going to get. I wanted to give this three stars, which to me means good however, the last time we were in we seriously had to get our own water and coffee. We were very familiar with our server so we told her we'd do it because frankly she just didn't seem to have the time to take care of us. read more

We are from out of town, went to Denny's because it looked nicer than the Waffle House next to it but we ended up waiting an hour for our "food". My pancakes had like 3 chocolate chips which i was charged extra for. And my friends skillet meal was half of what it should have been. This past weekend my friends and I went there after a night at the bar. We are all servers and understand the restaurant business so when they told us there would be a wait we underdtood. A few minutes later they told us they could not wait on our party of 10. We then offered to all sit at separate booths which we saw were empty and they still refused to serve us.
