Took the whole family out for a meal at Denny's because there's something for everyone's taste buds in our family of six. Outside is clean but doesn't have great appeal. Plain concrete walkway to the front doubledoors that hold a arcane claw machine game and a gumball game. Inside the second set of doors is the cashier station which doubles as a hostess station. We were seated at a large table which could easily seat eight people. I was happy with the table selection because we had plenty of elbow room for three adults and three children who doesn't like to be too close to each other so they have room for their tablets. Our waitress was Karen and she was great! A friendly and attentive young lady that was very accommodating to our "hangry" kids. She served their hot cocoa with a mound of whipped cream right away which soothed their hungry souls until their plates came out. Two of the kids choose a kid's breakfast meal while the third had their adult size lunch chicken tenders plate because they were extra hungry. I chose their Country Fried Steak with two sides and unsweetened ice tea. My plate had two nice sized steaks smothered in white country gravy. Very tasty and of course even better with Tabasco sauce. Nice crispy breading on the outside and tender cube steak inside. Definitely a comfort food to this Florida girl. My two sides were a side salad with blue cheese dressing and their macaroni and cheese. Both were good choices. Salad greens were crisp and had some carrots, purple cabbage and shredded cheese along with big croutons. Macaroni and Cheese had a thick and rich cheese sauce over firm not mushy macaroni. Two solid sides. I also decided to order a side of onion rings for our table to share. Not a huge portion by any means but they were very good. Crispy not greasy and filled completely with onion. My husband had the same meal and was very pleased as well. Our daughter had a breakfast Lumberjack Grand Slam that she loved. So our party of six was divided equally - three breakfast meals and three lunch meals. Everyone ate well and were extremely happy with their meal choice. All in all a very satisfying meal experience with comfort food and great service. read more

My wife loves their salmon. We eat here regularly. The food's always good. Sunday, their steak nearly killed me. Never ordered steak before. Should've trusted my instincts. What arrived tasted like pre-cooked meat reheated for service--the kind of time-temperature abuse that turns beef into a bacterial culture. Two bites told me to stop. My wife took one very small bite to confirm how awful it was. Her very small taste gave her a stomach ache. My two bites put me down for a week. Five hours later my body took up the fight: day and a half of vomiting, three days of diarrhea, 102° fever, cold sweats that soaked the sheets. At 80, a week later, I'm still too weak to trust standing up. Can't prove it without the steak in a lab. But when two regular customers get sick from the same plate--one bite versus two, mild versus severe--the math writes itself. One star for the steak. We'll be back for everything else. Or not. The experience put me in the hospital where Doctor Smith told me I might die. read more

Servers could be a bit more sociable and enthusiastic and not so robotic as it would make them appear more human and down to earth. Yes, they do overlap in their chores. Still haven't cleaned the entrance and they failed to give AARP discount. Waitress had to be asked to come to our table. Food was good and for me but my guests hamburgers were raw. They didn't eat them. They used to have music but not sure what happened with that. Noise isn't bad and there are a couple nice servers and that's what usually brings me back. I don't think there's a cleaning crew here. It has the potential to be a great business if they'd clean up the entrance and clean the doors going in. read more

Denny's is always a great choice, especially when traveling. The chain, overall, is highly predictable, but the staff from location to location is what makes each experience unique. Our server, Deborah K, definitely made our experience unique to this location. She was BLT just friendly, attentive and courteous; she was also interactive and funny. The food was good as one would expect. And, it was nice to see that everyone one abiding by the social distancing and mask requirements. We have a rental house in Crystal River and my dad started going here when he stays. He kept saying how great this location was. So we started going and OMG it's always so good!!! Our friends come in and now want to go here! We heard it was a training facility, and they are doing great!! Shane was our server here and he was friendly and fast with our party of 5. Definitely not the healthiest place to eat, even my veggie omelet was greasy. But at least I got a side of fruit with cantaloupe, bananas, and grapes. And I liked that the veggies were zucchini, tomatoes, and squash instead of the usual peppers and onions. read more

Our waitress (Trudy) insisted on us getting super slam, which wasn't even on the menu. She didn't give us what we ordered: my cousin wanted a grand slam that included chocolate chip pancakes. Trudy brought regular pancakes and when my cousins confronted her she brought out chocolate chips and bananas in a bowl. We got mozzarella sticks and it came with disgusting marinara. Nicole (someone who wasn't even our waiter) is the only reason I'm giving the review two stars. She was the highlight of the whole experience. read more

Worst experience ever in any restaurant. 4 of us for dinner. The restaurant was not busy. I ordered the bourbon steak. When it arrived the steak was so tough the steak knife would not cut through it. I sent it back for a refire and never received a new steak. Everyone's food at the table came out and was ok. Had the manager remove the steak from the Bill and had to go somewhere else to get something to eat. Waitress and manager blamed the cook and the new menu. read more

The claw machine has a weaker grip than my grandmother; who has arthritis. my perfect placement wasn't enough to compensate for the pathetic strength and pushed down stuffed animals. We came to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary and Dennys was our first stop and it started our trip off wonderfully. Olivia was at the door waiting to seat us with a friendly greeting and smile and was just a marvelous first impression. Then our waiter Ryan B was just amazing, great personality , ready and willing to help even with places to visit while we are here. The cook did a fantastic job with our meal. me and my friends ate here yesterday, our server (cierra) was unprofessional. when she sat us down at our dirty uncleaned table, she slammed the menus down on the table aggressively and walked away. while she was serving us she had an attitude the entire time. my friend was told by our server that the host (alivia) intentionally put a lemon in her milkshake. this resulted in my friend having to wait on her new milkshake bc it had to be remade. read more

I usually don't like Denny's and was a little hesitant to make the 20 min drive to this location but man was I surprised the food was delicious the atmosphere was very friendly and the service was phenomenal. Called last night to see if I could place a quick, small pick-up order at around 9:45pm, she said they were still taking orders. I told her it would be just a minute and I would call back with my order. I called back at 9:49pm & the woman who I had just spoken to, answered & I had her reassure that it was okay, she didn't seem bothered at all, regardless of closing in 10 minutes. I wouldn't have any complaints, considering we called very late right before closing, but when I told her I'd like to put an order in, she told me to give her just a second and then she put the phone down. I sat on the phone for 15 minutes, actually til about 10:05pm (5 minutes after closing). I wouldn't have cared if they told me it was too late for them to take any orders but instead, they put the phone down and didn't pick it back up at all. I heard them talking in the background and everything. I tried calling back and got the busy tone. This is one of our favorite places to go and this really disappointed me :( This is our first bad experience so far, we go there quite a bit and have no complaints about anything else. So after moving to Florida from Pennsylvania we were happy to see a restaurant that was familiar to us, and been to quite a bit back home. We got out of the car and saw an employee very out of breath obviously ready to fall over. We go in and get seated. Our waiter was very nice and friendly. Cant remember his name but he had lots of tattoos. Anyway I had a build your own chicken breast sandwich and my hubby got the all American breakfast. Only complaint about mine was that there was like 8 fries on the plate. So my hubbys well the eggs looked like they were made that morning, the sausage was so very greasy, the hash rows were ok. So I ate mine and my hubby had less then half. I knew something was wrong but he didn't want to ruin my night. We got home and he got sick like incredibly sick. Sick like I never seen him before. He also tried to take a shower and was so weak he fell and knocked the shower doors off the shower. Next day he called the Dr explained what happened and found out he has food poisoning. In Crystal River for ManateeFest. Stopped by Denny's with my 4 year old for take out. I ordered the veggie skillet. I literally had 5 small broccoli stems, 4 halves of cherry tomatoes, 8 potato/home fries, uncooked spinach and 2 eggs. Stingy much. My daughter ordered eggs, bacon and pancakes. (Off of the children's menu. The waitress could not grasp the fact that she wanted scrambled eggs, 2 slices of bacon and pancakes. She put in an order for 1 scrambled egg and 4 slices of bacon, how hard can it be to look a a child's grand slam, I pointed the picture out to this ignorant woman.
