Have to update this review. Continue to be so impressed by how festive this Denny's is. Again I'm not a big Denny's fan but I'm a big fan of this one. Service was again top-notch. I love how nice they are to their co-workers and all their customers. Maybe I'm just coming in at the right time of day because I don't see any problems with service. Loved the Rudolph pancake. Had to get one, even though it looked totally goofy. They ran out of the big chocolate chip. Prices are great. You get solid food and unlimited cups of coffee for a great value. We were seated quickly with menus and place settings. Then we waited...waited...waited until the three servers behind the counter had their conversation interrupted by another staff member to cue them that we were looking at them ready to order. It is Dennys, so can't be too surprised, although I would expect this after midnight, not at 12p. The soup was good. My spouse really enjoyed the grilled cheese sandwich. A welcome Surprise.....the staff are friendly. The facility is clean. The food is excellent and the portion sizes are larger than most. The menu has items that are surprisingly affordable for all ages and they do have a nice menu for Seniors. Because the prices are so fair I find myself eating there or taking out 4 times a week. I highly suggest you BYPASS these other high priced restaurants and try this specific NEW Denny's on Vista China at Landau...plus they give a nice discount for AARP members on everything (not on the special discount menu - which is only fair) read more

My husband and I visited this location for their $6.99 Slam breakfasts. When I went to pay, I was informed that because I ordered from the $6.99 menu my AARP discount only applied to the drinks, not to the ticket itself. When contacting Denny's Corporation, I was told "Thank you for contacting Denny's Corporation. I forgot to mention that our coupons have the small print stating that they cannot be combined with certain offers as well." The AARP discount is not a "coupon" by any stretch of the imagination, no more so than a military discount is. So if you want to support an establishment that reneges on discounts, by all means this is the restaurant chain for you. Otherwise, dine somewhere else. read more

Came in with my wife for pancakes and coffee. For starters we got a mug of cold coffee. When pancakes were brought to the table we asked for a refill. Waited 20min and there was only one table with customers. We would see the server doing side work and not even paying attention to her only customers that has asked for coffee. So my wife gets up with 2 empty coffee mugs, one on each hand and asked for refills. Server said oh we are out you need to wait 6min. So we waited and by the time we finally got our coffee our pancakes were cold. Then all of a sudden we get this strong smell of cleaning chemicals. We turn and see the mop bucket in the dining room. It has been sitting there for over 15min and now my stomach hurts from the smell and cannot eat a single bite anymore. Definitely will not be back! read more

The staff is uncharacteristically professional and friendly. They seem genuinely focused on customer care. Possibly because of this, the food just seems to taste better. The restaurant wasn't that busy there were booths open right by where we were standing! The waitresses would ignore us. Finally they said just sit there to these two men and then to us which made us wonder why weren't we seated before that. Okay well we sat down, then we had to wait for coffee. In the meantime I was hitting flys. It was gross! When she finally brought it I asked for half n half and she brought me vanilla creamers in little containers. I finally got up and went over to register to ask for half n half. With all the time wasted that all we could have since we had to get to my husband's doctor appt. but I'm glad because I didn't even want to eat breakfast there! Glad to have found this new and just-opened Denny's located by our hotel. Almost everything closed after 9 pm in Palm Springs or Palm Desert. It wasn't busy when we sat down to enjoy breakfast and yet problems arise. We get our coffee and ask for vanilla cream never got it I had to get up and ask again for them. Then she drops off our food and never came back to check on us. Had she checked on us she would have been told we didnt recieve all of our food. We ate what we could and waited. I had to again get up to get boxes and our check by this time more people were arriving and it started to get busy but while my party of 4 was there there was 5 tables including ours and 3 tables were finished eating. I'm very observant because I'm a server and it's very disappointing to see 3 servers checking there phones instead of the customers. While paying and asking for the undelivered food to be removed another customer had the same issues. Thank God I don't live out here because i won't ever have to come back. Came to have dinner here tonight with my two baby boys and my cousin (kids eat free tues. and sat from 4p to 10p) We arrived at 9:30ish and everything was going well, food was delicious, up until my server CRISTINA G. started to get upset at us for asking if they removed my two boys food off of the bill (THEY DONT REMOVE IT OFF THE ACTUAL PHYSICAL BILL, they only put it on the bottom of the receipt saying: 'discounts' which is why I was confused because I still saw the meal on my bill) anyways so she started getting upset and throwing shade with some attitude and verbatim said "well if you would look at the bill on the bottom it says discounts, that's where we remove it" so I retuned the shade and said no I didn't look at the bottom. PRIOR to all of this happening I wanted to try out Dennys new slammin sodas SO I ordered one and I had asked her for her suggestion if they were any good and she said she hadn't tried them just yet...... I went ahead and ordered one, unfortunately I did not like it, I retuned it and apologized to her asking if I could just get something different to drink. WELL when she was giving us attitude about the whole bill issue she then has the nerve to tell me, WORD FOR WORD: "when you go out to eat at restaurants, you don't just order something and say you don't like it?" I said: YES I DO EXACTLY THAT because why the heck would I pay for something that I DO NOT LIKE! She couldn't even let me know if they were any good BECAUSE she hadn't tried DENNYs NEW SLAMMIN SODAS and YOU WORK THERE!? SO YES MISS MAM' I AM GOING TO DO EXACTLY THAT AND RETURN MY DRINK! Oh and another thing... while she was getting all worked up about everything she ALSO cared to tell us "I could have charged you for the honey mustard" (we had order honey mustard for our French fries that came with our entree) she said COULD HAVE but she didn't and she also didn't disclose at any time that they DENNYS now charges for extra sauces..... I'll start off by saying it takes A LOT for me to leave a bad review. I have years of food service myself (bus boy, host, waiter), and so I know how food service should be and how restaurants operate. I know what good service is and I know what bad service is. It's not uncommon for me to tip 30% if the service and food are great. We went to this Denny's on Monday, December 30 for dinner. It was 6:00 and there were four other tables with customers. We got beverages promptly, but it was another ten minutes before our order was taken. It took at least 15 minutes for our food to arrive, which was a starter with chicken fingers. We had to ask for BBQ sauce twice. When our dinner order finally did come it had been another 30 minutes. When it arrived it was hot and tasted like Denny's food always does. IN ADDITION...there was a whole lot going on inside this place: 1) An employee's three children were sitting at the counter watching a TV above the bar. The TV was VERY loud, and that was on top of the regular music playing in the restaurant. 2) There was some kind of employee party / potluck going on in a private back room area of the restaurant. People kept walking in and out of the back room and into the kitchen and behind the bar, and they were not on the clock and not in uniform. They were in street clothes. One in particular had very long blonde hair (past her rear end) and I saw her hair dragging over food service equipment. (I mean it was gross.) Many, many people from the party helped themselves to soda from the machine. And, food was regularly coming from the kitchen and being taken into the party room, by staff who were working and also party guests. Was this why our food took so long? 3) Whenever new guests entered the restaurant, employees at the other end of the bar from the front door would yell, "BE RIGHT WITH YOU!" or "TAKE A SEAT ANYWHERE!" Rather than walking to the front to greet guests, workers were screaming and yelling across the entire restaurant. All in all, this was just a very bad experience. The food took way too long, and we felt like we were in the way of what appeared to be employees attending a potluck. Workers had children there. It was VERY loud and just not a relaxing vibe. The worst Denny's experience I've ever had. No, I'm not a Denny's frequent-flyer, but over the years I've gone many times. I won't be back to this one, guaranteed. I hope a member of the management team sees this review and takes action. None of what I saw would have ever been allowed at the restaurants where I worked, (which includes Perkins and Village Inn...basically the same types of food establishment as Denny's). read more

Cristina was absolutely such a gem. from the second my friend & I walked in she had such a bright personality. the atmosphere was cozy and Cristina was full of personality! the food came out early & was sizzling hot. Cristina definitely made our night. she made us laugh and feel welcomed right away. the busser Jacob was great too! we watched as he helped Cristina with anything she needed! he kept the tables clean and was quick on his feet! he wasn't shy to have conversation either and was extremely personable! such a respectful young man! and great worker! knows exactly what he's doing. :) read more

I went to this Denny's today with my parents for a late lunch/early dinner. Not only was the food cooked perfectly (Alaskan salmon with a side salad, a hamburger with fries and a side of pancakes, and the chicken strips with fries), the ambiance was nice and clean, and our waitress was phenomenal! Nadia was our server and she was thorough and clearly cared about making our experience enjoyable. We all really appreciated Nadia's service and we look forward to having her as our server again. It was expensive for breakfast. I got a plain waffle & it was brought on a saucer. (Pic below). The waffle was awful, extremely sweet. It tasted more like a cinnamon roll with butter & syrup. My son got the grand slam. Said it was good! The place was kinda empty & service bad. She never came back to table to see if we wanted refills on our drinks. There was another server sitting at the counter. She had really long hair and kept running her fingers through her hair and fluffing it. Yuck!
