First time trying firehouse subs, I heard good things about them and was pretty hopeful coming in. We came and shared a sandwich because we were going to be eating a late dinner. We got a steak and cheese melt. The sandwich really missed for me. It was pretty skimpy on ingredients and the meat and bread were mid in flavor and quality. Maybe I picked the wrong sandwich but I just wasn't impressed. Service was straightforward, they were getting their job done but I wouldn't necessarily consider them friendly. There was lots of seating and it had a good amount of customers for 3:00. Decor was very firehouse themed and they had little firefighter hats for little ones which I thought was cute. I like this place for the staff, not so much the sandwiches. To be honest, I am not a fan of sandwiches, but sometimes, they just make sense for a not fussy dinner. i tend to order the Hook and Ladder and I get a cup of chili. The chili is good, slightly better than Wendy's. The employees who work at this location are super positive and offer great suggestions. They are the reason I have returned. My 3rd time at Firehouse Subs, and their 3rd strikeout. I've gone each of the 3 times because my wife is a fan, but even she was disappointed with today's lunch. While the place is certainly clean, and the staff friendly, the food really is sub-par -- I should say they serve a sub-par sub. My wife ordered the Hook & Ladder, heated. It came out barely warm, the bread still pretty much un-toasted. I built my own, simpler sub of Virginia Ham and Swiss, also toasted -- or, I should say, also mostly un-toasted. The Spicy Cajun CHicken was TO DIE FOR! We stopped to grab a sandwich to-go thinking this was just a regular sandwich shop we could eat during the drive, and wow were we wrong! My boyfriend and I ordered a large to share and honestly I probably could eat the entire thing myself because it was so good. Their large is HUGE. They pack the sandwich up so much their to-go box was elevated so the entire sandwich would fit. The Spicy Cajun was just the right amount of sauce and spice, and was overflowing with chicken and veggie toppings. What a disappointment. The wheat bread on my fav Jamaican Jerk Turkey sub was hard. The sub ingredients were haphazardly assembled & both side halves fell apart. Last, no pickle. It really sucks when restaurants shut their restaurant down before the closing hours. Sucks, really liked thus spot but little things like this I wont ever be back to the entire company. Its that real, wait all day show up a few minutes before closing and " I just work here type ish" whack firehouse sub workers no pride having thieves. I love the Gluten Free roll they make my sub sandwich on. It is very soft and doesn't just fall apart. When I have asked the server to please put on new gloves to avoid cross contamination they have been great to do so. I feel like the meats and condiments have all been fresh also. I had never been to Firehouse Subs before. I did want to eventually try it, since I've tried Jersey Mike's, Jimmy John's, and Subway. I went in with a friend from the High Desert to get a few sandwiches. It's in a nicer outdoor shopping center at the corner of Ramon and Gene Autry Trail, where Gene Autry Trail skirts the back of the PSP airport property between I-10 and Palm Canyon Drive. Two subs were ordered, with mine being the Italian one and other one being the Firehouse Hero. Mine made for a filling meal and served as dinner. The Hero was also reportedly good. The subs were eaten inside and the store is somewhat large. The prices are right at around $10 each. That said, I think that, even though they probably want to be considered as a unique sandwich option, the product is seemingly close to that of Jersey Mike's. Jimmy John's is its own thing all the way around and the sandwich shop I frequent the most. Subway tends to be lower priced, especially with the coupons they send out, and also reliable. I want to mention that the service was very friendly and, since these sandwiches are fairly decked out, the employees seem willing to help you understand how they are different so you can decide. It took me a while to decide. Also, this chain, through donations and their largess, does give money to various local firefighting departments. Firehouse Subs is a good choice right before heading or arriving to PSP airport and you don't want more economical fast food to tide you over. You can also take your food to one of the picnic areas from which people plane spot. Its being on Ramon is kind of funny, at least to me. In Spanish, it means Raymond. Growing up in SoCal, I only knew 3 people with this name, and all of them were from Puerto Rico, where it seems to be a popular name. Then, after you and your friends have seen "Beverly Hills Cop" countless times and know all the lines, the name Ramon makes for one of the funniest "skits" within the movie, and which only Eddie Murphy could have pulled off. It would be funnier if there was a nearby street named Serge, and even funnier if the two intersected, but there isn't. I finally ate at Firehouse Subs. I'd be willing to return to any of their stores and try another one of their sandwiches. read more

This was our second time attempting to purchase food at firehouse subs. The first time was door dashed from the Colton ca location. The order was so effed up the delivery driver didn't want to give it to me. Had to beg for some attention from the owner just to get a refund. Singh sounds like the right guy, not 100% sure. Now, I order today, in person, just to make sure they do not fuck up the order. I knew I should've inspected the sandwiches before I left but I figured that there is no way they would fuck it up if I was right in front of them waiting. 20 minute ride home only to find out the order is irreparably fucked up and the best thing the poor kid on the phone could do was offer me a refund that will take up to 48 hours to complete. I came here last week and had the worst experience you could have at a sandwich place. I have never tried Firehouse Subs before, but I love trying new things. I came in and off the back the guy working behind the counter was extremely rude and passive-aggressive, I said it's my first time here what would you recommend? He said something off the menu, now are you going to order something or not. The employees at this location seemed like they didn't want to be there and just wanted to leave. I came in an hour before closing so I'm not sure if they're always this aggressive. I got my food and for some reason it tasted sour, I asked that guy behind the counter if that's normal. Maybe I got a sour flavored sandwich. The tall blonde gentlemen laughed and went to the back. I have never seen a employee have such disregard for their customers. I then asked if I could try a different sandwich he said no they're closing in half an hour and I should leave. I said okay and left, he then turn the lights off and lock the store and left himself, I thought it was strange usually at every food establishment they clean before they leave, since he had keys to the building and him and another employee left the building I'm guessing he was a manager. Which in my opinion makes it worse because that's the example he's putting for his employees that that's how you should treat customers. So I guess the moral of the story is if you don't care how you are treated and you want to eat a sour sandwich then I guess you could try this place but I would highly advise against it. Really like this location when in Palm Springs. They have daily specials that feature a medium sandwich, drink and a bag of chips. My favorite is the jerk chicken cold not hot. I was the only person in the restaurant except for several employees. I ordered two large Sweet & Spicy meatball subs, I ordered combos with chips and drinks. The total was $47 dollars and change. The price is pretty damn high but inflation is happening everywhere and I know firehouse subs are good quality sandwiches so I'm fine with that I guess. They hand me the sandwiches and send me on my way. The sandwiches in the bag were medium turkey clubs or from what the menu describes it look like they are the Hook and ladder sandwiches. I have no idea what they were thinking while making the sandwiches... I even asked to confirm what they put on the sandwiches when I ordered them. My experience with this store was very disappointing to say the least.
