a receipt for a restaurant

Service was snail paced. No one attended to us for over 5 minutes upon arriving. Only 2 other tables in the restaurant, over 7 employees on the clock. The drinks weren't served until 20 minutes later. Excuse after excuse, after excuse. The restaurant is under lit and lonely. But why were we asked $68 for service we didn't receive? My food came out 49 minutes after I was seated. The food was lukewarm. I never received a drink refill of water. I had to wait an additional 10 minutes for syrup and a total of 20 minutes for lemon to add to the water. I'm actually from this area. I attended Glynn County Elementary. I spent my summers at St. Simons. This is not the Brunswick area I know. Denny's is being grossly misrepresented by employees picking favorites of customers. The original server refused to serve us and left us sitting there stating she's going on break. We were seated beside the kitchen so there is nothing to excuse or minimize this abhorrence. Other tables that later arrived received service drinks and food within 10 minutes and less. Why the negligence? Maybe corporate can check the cameras and watch how poorly customers are treated here. My husband went to the front to pay and tell the woman at the counter how much they missed the mark of excellence, and she replied aww, I'm sorry, and walked off. We were charged for a fresh fruit side as well, in which the owner comped and still made us. $3 does not supplant $68. Making excuses to give a free pass to bad employees you hired does not create exceptions. I'm not really sure how this experience could have been any worse. I guess we had to learn how our dollars work. Absolutely reprehensible!! Look at you, the new face of Denny's.

Denny's didn't disappoint. On this long road trip we needed this stop and fuel and it was perfect. Everything was delicious and flavorful and our waitress Farron was sweet and attentive. Definitely recommend.

THE WIFE GOT SICK----Now back At The camp Ground drinking Hot tea. We were 4 people on a Tuesday morning with maybe 5 tables in use. The First round of breakfast was brought to us COLD. Not just one of us but all 4 had cold food. We sent it all back. They made a new plates for all of us, but not much better ...ok a little hot. We were all so hungry that instead of out the door... we ate the breakfast......MISTAKE----took only 1/2 hour for wife to get sick. Getting back to the camp ground the day was ruined as the wife alternated between the bathroom and couch with tea in hand...SHE WAS SICK ON DENNY'S FOOD. I guess if it's not hot enough the salmonella in the eggs and other germs are not killed. The waitress told us 3 of the staff did not show up for work....she had her hands full ..and was not at her smiling best. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE.....and if your smart you will look for another. NOTE.... for 30 years i was a professional earning my living in restaurant sanitation. 7PM UPDATE----just found out the other couple who was with us ( from Florida) both got sick. So that makes 3 out of 4 sick on Denny's food Restaurant on highway 17 in Brunswick ,Georgia.

I needed to make a stop.... server is sweet! :)

Connie was really nice and helpful. I got my food fast and it was prepared as requested. She took care of me but never bothered me. Great Job!

Solid breakfast at a good price. I always order the breakfast skillets with two whole eggs instead of just whites. It comes with veggies over spuds. My only complaint is that I wish they would use fresh broccoli instead of frozen. Other than that it's pretty good and lighter on the calories than most breakfast dishes. This is my second time at this location. The service is always prompt and the servers are courteous. The restaurant is clean and so are their restrooms. That's always a plus. I just wish their coffee was a little stronger. Lol

We explained how many people we had 5 with one more joining us. Just stared at us and looked confused. Said we could sit at the bar. The place was mostly empty. Asked again about seating and she seemed lost. A member of party asked if we could sit there, and pointed and the hostess states " I guess so" it was the weirdest interaction I have ever had with a hostess. She seemed lost. We were debating whether we should even stay. Overall we enjoyed the visit once we got past the door. Will give them another chance

This…read moreyear we're in town closer to New Year's and thankfully, we were able to try Maggie Mae's in downtown Brunswick. This definitely appears to be a popular place with locals because most people are greeted by name as they enter the restaurant. I was greeted with a smile and a good morning as soon as I entered the restaurant. They gave me a menu and told that I could sit anywhere I would like. The server was very friendly and relatively attentive. The dining room is adequately filled with six large larger tables and a number of smaller ones that are perfect for two people. They also have four picnic tables outside. They serve breakfast and lunch all day. Yelp shows that they're open until 3 PM, but the menu shows 7 AM to 2 PM Monday through Friday, and the grill is turned off at 1:30 PM. I decided to try their ham and cheese omelette. The menu shows a peace symbol next to the best selling items. The omelette comes with hashbrowns or grits and your choice of toast. The server suggested raisin toast or the biscuit. I typically do not order biscuits because they tend to be dry. Their biscuit was surprisingly good. It was sliced in half and grilled on both sides. It tasted soft and moist after applying butter and strawberry jam. Similar to the biscuit, the ham and cheese omelette was also really good. It was loaded with ham and there was possibly a little more ham than cheese. Overall, I had a positive experience. The food tasted great, and the service felt personable and exemplified southern hospitality. I would definitely consider returning, and I would recommend Maggie Mae's to others Cheers

Where else in the world can you bump into a colleague from three-plus decades ago by accident?…read more We stopped in after reviewing quick lunch spots after leaving Saint Simons. Maggie Mae's look fun and it was. Food: a unique, toasted Cuban sans mustard with a heap of tater tots. Also tasty egg salad with pasta salad. Both with water. All good. Ambiance: this is a local oasis with a wide breakfast and lunch menu, including soup of the day. Sandwiches are specialities but we hate to have missed breakfast. Not opulent but a hometown feel you can't import. Service. Perfect. From ordering to delivery to a quick "hey" from the boss. We'll go again when in the area.

To start when I pulled up to the place I was so impressed with the incredible vibe of the outside. Beautiful plants. Awesome fountain. Vibrant paint. Just beautiful!! Then you walk in and I was taken back by how beautiful the inside was too. Amazing wood work. Homemade drinks to the left. Great menu straight ahead and then some of the nicest staff I've ever met. I hadn't eaten all day so I was really hungry. I talked with the staff and had them pick me out their two best sandwiches. The beef and the chicken (can't remember the menu names lol) and then got a cup of chili! All of it was amazing!! Finally to close this off.. their story.. they have a little story brochure to the right of the register. Wow!! Such a cool story. I say this with all confidence. I highly recommend their buffalo crab dip, a concoction that is a buffalo cheese dip served with fresh lump crab. You can really taste the crab in this dish. They don't skimp on it at all. The most clever thing that they did here, though, is to serve it with wonton chips. It's something that's truly unique, as most restaurants would serve a dish like this with regular chips. The wonton chips are a treat unto themselves, having great wonton flavor. However, when you combine it with the dip, it really takes it over the top. Highly recommend. For my entree, I had their Cajun Alfredo pasta. It is linguine served in a "Cajun-spiced Alfredo sauce". It is "served with tasso and smoked sausage", and you can choose to have it with either chicken or wild GA shrimp. In either case, once again, they do not skimp . You get a heaping portion of either chicken or shrimp, and the sauce is very tasty. It is just as described, an Alfredo sauce with a little Cajun flavor, though it is not spicy. It is served with no sides, but no sides are necessary as it is a hearty portion all by itself. Very delicious. The most impressive thing that I saw is that the owner is very hands-on. They have these new-fangled mobile electronic lamps, and the owner came by and noticed that ours wasn't quite working. He replaced it immediately himself. He was very friendly and chatted us up. He also went around and was serving and clearing tables himself. It seems that if you eat here, there's a strong possibility that you could end up meeting the owner! Meeting him was a very nice touch. The only thing that I had a hard time with here was choosing a dish because everything looked so good on the menu! Delicious food and great service.
