This Dennys's sucks! What Denny's in the WORLD runs out of hamburgers on a weekly basis? Can you say "poorly managed"?

Dear Lord. First off, when I decide to go to a Denny's, I accept that I am signing, unwrittenly, an understanding that I about to experience underwhelming food and service. It's meant to be cheap and convenient, not fine dining, and you get what you pay for. I respect this business model. However, THIS Denny's is pushing abomination status. As the only restaurant attached to this hotel/casino, you'd think these guys would recognize the potential market. Just push out mediocre dishes and polite service, and hotel guests who are too tired to drive anywhere else will come by default. This was the category we were in our first night in Beatty. Sadly, they couldn't even manage that. We began with nearly 45 minutes waiting for a table in a restaurant where maybe 25% of the tables were occupied. Excuses flew about how overworked they were, but we saw a lot of people just standing around or wiping empty, clean tables. Add another 35 minutes for the waitress to come by and take orders, including for water. The food sucked, but we didn't really care at that point. On a positive note, it was somewhat of a bonding experience for us and the other 4 tables that were occupied, since we collectively felt like refugees. read more

I want to give this business more stars because I go through Beatty @ least 2x a week, but the 2x I have tried Denny's they have got my order wrong. I ordered a plain cheeseburger to go. When I opened the box when I got home, it had lettuce, tomato, onion, etc. If I had wanted all of those I would not have said PLAIN cheeseburger. They could have even put them on the side instead of on the burger itself. I also hate having to walk through a smoky casino to get my food. The only place in Beatty that is good is Subway. read more

I'm vegan and sensitive to gluten/wheat. I set my expectations very low after reading the Yelp reviews. I ordered three sides: whole grain rice, sweet corn and steamed broccoli. Got a totally alright meal! (Probably much better and more nutritious than some veggie burger.) The rice was a nice mix of brown, red and wild rice; the broccoli was cold, but it was fresh (not the frozen variety), and the corn (which also seemed fresh) may have been prepared with butter, but no big deal... I'm in Beatty by Death Valley - not in Hollywood. :) The staff was friendly but overwhelmed by the Thanksgiving holiday visitors traffic. My husband's burger and fries was totally ok. No need to bitch about this place - it's a Denny's, not a Mario Batali restaurant... read more

Honestly, the food was surprisingly good for a Denny's! I usually 'play it safe' by just ordering breakfast but decided to be daring and tried the Sweet & Tangy Chicken Skillet. It was really excellent!! The sauce was amazing. The service was a bit slow but they only had one guy doing everything. We felt bad for him but he was really professional and had serious hustle. read more

As others have said, this is through a smoky casino. Armed with this info, I called in an order for pick up instead of eating there. The girl on the phone did not seem to know the menu well. I had to ask if they needed my name for my order as she was about to hang up. Her reply: No, just tell us what you ordered. Yeah, that's much simpler than just giving my name. I get there to pick up my order: the Banana Bread French Toast Slam. I pay for my order: the BB FT Slam. I'm handed my order and only the BB French Toast is there. I inform the to go girl that the eggs, bacon and hash browns are missing. She apologizes and yells to the back to make them. So while they make the missing pieces, they leave the French toast on the counter to grow cold. As I wait, I'm being inundated with casino smoke (which was strange as the casino was darn near empty). The main purpose in ordering the to go order was to minimize the exposure to the smoke in the first place! After about another 5 mins, I receive another part of the order in another container. Checking it I find that there are still no hash browns. Same thing again: the made parts sit on the counter growing cold while they make hash browns. By the time I had the entire order, it had taken 15 minutes, 3 revisions and 3 containers for a called in To Go order that was "going to be ready by the time I got there". All the other reviews pretty much hit the nail on the head. There was only two or three waitresses for 10 people at 10 p.m. and it took forever to get our food and drinks! Our waitress was really nice but the food was not that great. If you are in town, go to KC's Outpost. It is really, really good. 5 stars! Don't eat here if you want to wait close to an hour just to get your drink order taken. Waitress only served one large table, and hostess kept seating more people only to wait like we did. Guy next to us had to get up and pour his own coffee. Waitress and hostess act super offended that everyone is irritated, for good reason. Props to the cook tho, he was whipping food out as fast as he could. If I could give this place no stars I would. read more

the service is always good, the food is always typical Denny's (good) - but I guess the only reason I'm leaving 2 stars is because to GET to the Denny's you have to walk through a disgusting casino that STINKS of cigarette smoke which is an automatic turn off for me... but, when I need real food served quickly and know it's going to be good while I travel back and forth through Beatty, this is the only place I trust so I deal with it and just asked to be seated AWAY from the cigarette smoke onslaught and gauntlet you have to navigate to get there! read more

My husband picked up our order a few mins ago. I ordered the chicken strips for my children and the sampler for myself . The food was so gross! It all tasted like it was from yesterday . It was really gross. We didn't even get our ranch or our marinara sauce for the mozzarella sticks . None of the dressing in fact was added. The onion rings tasted like they were fried a couple days ago and just microwaved . I couldn't even eat it even though I was starving . Had to eat a cup noodles instead . If you look at the rest of my Yelp reviews you'll quickly see that the large majority are above average to exceptional. However, this one is far below average. Two of us walked in for breakfast on Sun. Easter morning at 7:00 a.m. for breakfast. We waited fifteen minutes for somebody to come and ask us if we'd like to order. No coffee, no water.....just a pencil and order pad. He took our order and apologized saying that he was "trying to get caught up". There were people in five booths when we walked in and in nine booths when we walked out. It took another 15 min. before we actually got our coffee and water (half hour after we walked in). It was another 20 min. before we were served our Original Grand Slams (a total of 50 min. from when we walked in). The waiter again apologized.....said he didn't know what was "going on back there". Needless to say, he didn't get a tip. For lunch in Beatty, try The Happy Burro. read more

To get to this Denny's, you have to walk through the Stagecoach Casino. I seated myself because I was tired of standing around waiting for someone to seat me. I sat at the counter on a Monday morning for breakfast. It took the wait staff quite some time to attend to me. I felt like being ignored but I know I was not because they were busy and they were clearly short handed. It took them awhile to give me my check and it took them awhile to cash me out. This Dennys regularly runs out of food. Unbelievable but true. If you are staying in Beatty NV to visit Death Valley National Park, beware. Dont deoend on This place to have any food. Even the motel staff person warned us about them running out of everything. read more

We don't go to Denny's more than a time or two per decade. But this was the only bona fide restaurant in Beatty. The key word here is sloooooooow. Plus like just about everything in Nevada, it reeks of cigarettes from the adjacent casino. Otherwise, pretty standard coffee shop food cooked by lethargic cooks, and served by nice servers. read more

Yes it is a small town, and this casino restaurant is the best place for breakfast. Breakfasts were big and not pricey. It is a real downer coming in to the restaurant via the casino, which is smoke filled, but in the morning the restaurant air is not too bad. So, I was not happy at the Denny's inside of the StageCoach Casino in Beatty, NV. First of all, the waiters/waitresses take way too long to even take your order and then it takes just as long to get the meal. And there weren't even a lot of people there. Other groups got their orders and meals before us, even when we were there before them. By the time we got our food, I was already upset and starving. The waiter/waitress didn't even give me a refill right away, I had to get their attention and then it took another 10 mins to get it, which by that time we were ready to leave. Later on that night, the waiter took forever to take our orders and we had 5 mins to scarf down our food before meeting our friends who were about to take off. read more

Best restaurant in Beatty. We had dinner here first night of our visit to Death Valley. Food was good for 3 of us--tilapia/broccoli/redskin potatoes/soup, Bourbon chicken, bacon-cheese-tomato-onion omelette--and very reasonable. Service was pleasant, efficient. Plus, we were able to order wine/drinks from the casino here and have it with our meal...at a Denny's, that is. Pretty darned good! read more

I've been to many Denny's and some are great, some are meh. This one was excellent. I think it was a bit understaffed because the two severs seemed pretty frantic but they were very polite and quick to help me. The lady who served me was extremely sweet and communicative. If I could offer one negative, it's that I wasn't greeted right away when I walked in the door, nor were any of the other people waiting. We don't mind waiting, just communicate. A simple, "be right there!" goes a long way :) read more

I've been to this Denny's a few times and am writing this review as a public service to my fellow travelers. There aren't many options in Beatty and this is a logical place to consider. a: Pros: -- Pretty quick -- You can order online and pick up -- Menu that most people are familiar with. b: Cons: -- It's part of the hotel / casino and those who have an issue with smoking, might pass out as they walk through the casino; it's pretty bad. --Even if you don't have a serious issue with smoking, you may want to get the food as a take out; the smoke smell is overtly strong in Denny's. --The staff; hit or miss. I know that the folks out here are doing the best they can and I'm sure management attempts to hire people who are somewhat alive and qualified, but it's a 50/50 deal as to whether or not you're going to get the food you want the way you ordered. Case in point, I order a breakfast platter (Grand Slam) to go, I specifically asked if everything was in the bag "yes", I get to the motel, no maple syrup. How many people eat pancakes without maple syrup? I was too tired to drive back and thus thought I would at least give them a call and give a heads up to "wake up and pay attention"... of course, they never picked up the phone... I mean, never. The more I think about it, just to play it safe, walk over to the gas station and get a subway sandwich; you can see them make it and the air is clean. read more

Stopped in to try them again and it was worse than the first time. Three items we asked for were not available as they had run out. And the Burger I had was undoubtably the worst Burger I have ever eaten. Maybe the cook likes it raw and mushy but I don't. Also the ( Manager) at 6pm that waited on us complained of staff issues to us and couldn't remember to bring water herself. read more

I'm giving these guys two stars because service was actually very nice- super prompt, polite, engaging and attentive, our waitress really went above and beyond. If the cook was ten percent as engaged in his job, the whole joint would rock Beatty. The problem is, whoever is back there, has zero idea what he/she is doing, the food looks nothing like it should. It's almost like cook knows to make "salad, skillet, burger", but WHAT KIND you order doesn't seem to have any influence on execution. We started with nachos, which came out looking like a plate of chips with a scoop of topping lopsidedly plopped in one corner. I ordered grilled chicken Caesar with avocado and asked to hold the cheese. What I got was a heaping plate of lettuce, no cheese, as requested, but also no dressing, with half avocado and a handful of chicken. If chicken was in fact grilled at first, it was then finished off via frying, no joke. It had a suspect golden battered crust. About 30 seconds later a side of Italian dressing followed to compliment my "Caesar" salad. I ended up eating avocado and lettuce, because once I tried the chicken, I discovered the cook forgot the salt or any seasoning completely. Rest of my family enjoyed similarly astounding execution of their food, (think broccoli atop breakfast skillet). The waitress was so nice, we all felt guilty and lied non stop about how fantastic our food was, shame on us. We ended up here because we couldn't get anyone to acknowledge us at a different restaurant up the street and figured Denny's will at least provide a uniformed experience. Wrong. My recommend is if you are in the area and looking for a place to eat with your family- don't. Keep driving. read more

I ordered the multigrain hamburger bun. I could have used it for a hockey puck! Husband had regular bun, the burger was so greasy it soaked the bun. Don't recommend for dinner. Try breakfast, Dennys does way better with breakfast. read more

Looks like regular Denny's. But stuff is a joke. This morning I visit this Denny's. Me and couple my friends, we was waiting for our server for 25-30 minutes (while we waited we ask for server about 3-4 times) finally we got one.... After we order food and before we actually get it, there was another 30-35 minutes. Shop that was about hour or more before we got our food. After that at the register my friend said to the server that the service was really bad and could be better, lady at register (she was our server) didn't say that she sorry or so. Nice quiet clean atmosphere, excellent menu with all the calorie count info for each menu items which is good for the heart healthy concerned, wait service was prompt and friendly, food arrived promptly, I shied away from the typical breakfast specials and went for the fruit and cereal choice, parking is good and casino is alongside the highway easy to find. read more
