This review is based on the quality of food, the gentle and professional customer service, and the atmosphere in which we enjoyed our food. We ordered some kind of seasoned tilapia which was perfectly cooked, chicken noodle soup which was tasty and hearty, kids spaghetti and a couple kale salads as sides. Everything was delicious. No complaints about the food. Like I said the CS was gentle and professional. One thing I picked at was the dirty menus. Yuck. Stopped for breakfast on our way home to Oregon. Yuck! Bacon tasted like dirty grill, pancake was doughy as it wasn't cooked completely. Our order was mixed up and we had to get up so our coffee cup could be refilled. I mean come on... the place was NOT busy and there were only two tables with customers. What a disappointment. We should have stopped at the little dive diner in town (which are usually the best). I highly recommend you don't stop for Denny's in this town. What a disaster! After traveling all day we were famished. Not knowing any of the restaurant in town we felt it was safe to go to Denny's even if it was in a smoky casino. The place was clean, the service was great but the food took forever to arrive. When it did it was not up to par by far. The pot roast, (how could you mess up pot roast?) was just a clump of dried up meat with a dab of gravy. One party ordered a BLT with avocado and it came without the tomatoes or avocado. One ordered the Tilapia and when it finally arrived it was like shoe leather. The waitresses were great in reordering and bringing the fixings for the BLT and reordered the salmon however the cook forgot it on the grill and they served the other shoe. To say the least we got comped a couple of meals but at least one of went away hungry. read more

I haven't eaten at a Denny's in years, but since the area has such limited options, I decided to give it a go. The "Fit Fare Slam" was yummy and not too greasy - spinach & tomato egg white omelette with an English muffin and turkey bacon complete with a side of fruit didn't kill me after having been on an Ayurvedic diet for the past month. But the best part of my visit by far was general manager John Lyon, who greeted me with a warm and easy openness. What a unique and special soul. We thought it was our server's fault, but after watching the dynamics of the place (including the trek through the weird casino room on the way to the dining room) for a while (a Friday morning breakfast) it seems more likely the kitchen/cook staff were the problem. We stopped in Beatty for some eat at the Denny's in the back of the Stagecoach casion and my hubby order Bacon Slam Burger which has bacon, egg, hashbrowns on it. Things were a little slow here - it wasn't that busy but they looked a little shorthanded. We arrived to this location for dinner just before 830 pm. Crystal, seemed as a busy server for the whole restaurant, with one other employee, which was the cook. The server, Crystal, was sweating and quickly moving about the restaurant, politely while she tried to accommodate the needs of every customer. She took our drink orders, and our meal orders as we were ready to order. She brought our sodas and waters while we waited. A few minutes later, another server showed up, and was yelling orders around to our server and the only cook. She was critiquing our server and yelling at her for the people that were waiting to be seated. She was yelling, clear across the restaurant to customers, and the other staff. The cook was frantically working in the back to accommodate all of the orders that were coming in. She was yelling at Crystal, telling her that she should seat the customers and quit telling them to wait, as she abruptly seated a table of four gentlemen behind us. She yelled something back to the kitchen, then asked for their drink orders, after she obtained their drink orders, the customers told her they were ready to order their meals also, and she replied "so is everyone else, you will have to wait until I get their drink orders first." WOW! Then the people behind them said something about how long it was taking and they had been there so long, and again, yelling, she responded with "well, I have been here since 5 AM." Again, WOW! Then an hour later, after listening to her yell and carry on in this manner to other customers and the cook, she had also made Crystal go to the back in the kitchen to help prepare food, and was yelling at the both of them about the terrible job they are doing and should be looking at the menu to know what they should be making. Again, all of this could be heard across the while restaurant. Our food was being assembled on the tray to bring out to us, and she had a bottle of ketchup on the tray that was falling off by the time she got to the table, and pretty well tossed it to our table and abruptly said "take this" after it had already fallen onto the table. She didn't say please, or apologize or use any type of manners. After she distributed the meals to one of the children on our table to hand out to the rest of the table, she went to get refills on drinks and got a couple of them wrong, and when I corrected the lemonade she brought back that it was supposed to be mango lemonade, she begrudgingly went to fix the lemonade. She brought it back and asked what else we needed and everyone said nothing, I asked her what her name was, and suddenly had her full attention. She responded with "Tara, and I am the general manager" I said thank you. She asked if there was a problem and I told her that the problem was with her attitude with the customers and the staff. That we had been listening to her yell at the staff and customers since she walked in, she argued saying she was simply yelling so they could hear her, I clarified to her that It was clear that her words were condescending and rude, and that her customer service skills were awful! She said "I am sorry you feel that way" and rolled her eyes and walked away. I then noticed that Tara had switched Crystal back out, and stayed behind the counter to cook and Crystal came back out to serve. Then, while we were left to eat our food that was burnt, literally, to the skillet, inedible. I pushed my inedible skillet away and Crystal returned to ask if we needed anything else, and we assured her we did not. She looked at the food on the skillet and asked if it was mine, and I said yes. She said that looks burnt and I told her it was disgusting, and without asking she said she would take that off my bill. Then I asked her name and that is when she told me Crystal. I told her that her customer service skills were great, and that she was doing well on her own, but clearly they are short handed. I assured her I would be complaining, but that it was simply due to Tara's actions. The other customers in the restaurant told me thank you for addressing the problem with Tara and that she made the restaurant feel very uncomfortable and not welcome. I would be utterly embarrassed if my business was portrayed in this manner. I failed to mention, my 14 yo child is a type 1 diabetic, the one that ordered the mango lemonade, and had done insulin in anticipation of receiving his food (as his endocrinologist instructs him) and since the food took an hour to receive, his blood sugar dropped to a critically low result of 40! This was alarming, and we were working on getting his blood sugar up, with food that was not really edible. read more

This is by far the worst chain restaurant experience I've ever had. We were staying at the attached hotel, and due to not having any other option on a wed night we had dinner there. The manager at night was unfriendly and unorganized. They were clearly understaffed as any staff was running around like crazy. We were sat at a wet table and our waitress got to us when she could, the only plus for this place is that she was friendly. The wait grew and grew and the manager unpleasantly snapped at patrons who were waiting. After finishing, our waitress clearly in the weeds from being forced to take too many tables with no help, cashed us out. The cashier set up was a very unorganized station where the credit card machine is not accessible and the guest has to reach over the counter into the filthy dusty station and stretch to un-securely enter your pin. I figured new day, new staff maybe they were caught off guard, so we went back the next morning. OMG the experience was unbelievably worse than the night before. We were sat at a dirty table, no set ups, no condiments. We had the same waitress from the night prior again she was the only plus, friendly but clearly overwhelmed again due to lack of help. My food was warm at best, the kitchen forgot a portion of my meal, there was a full bus cart sitting next to us in the dining room for the entire time we were there. There was a broken oozing syrup bottle in the middle of the floor next to us with cones near it but nobody making any effort to clean it up. I saw the busboy one time and he wasn't doing anything. The manager disappeared and even with five tables standing in line to cash out and being requested to help several times by the waitress was still no place to be found. The only waitress was alone to take care of every duty, her tables, busing, cashier, handle complaints, plead with the cooks, she still maintained a pleasant attitude though she was again the only positive about the place, WOW. The restaurant itself was in disrepair with peeling paint and pendant lights over the bar that had been broken and the naked wires were left hanging and a filthy unorganized cashier counter OMG save your money and starve you will be happier. read more

There were only 3 other tables besides us. 1 table received their food before us. When our food finally came out the ultimate scramble had about 1 ounce of meat. The side of corn was $2.19 and had barely a scoop and was dry AF. The cesar salad was forgotten. On top of that it was 3.89 for the tiny side. Portions and quality were terrible. Service terrible. This is the WORST Denny's, or any sit down restaurant for that matter, that I've ever been to. Why? Well, where do we start? At the beginning where you can hear the host bitching about the cook messing up a To-Go order? Or the part where the waitress finally decides to saunter over to the table with her robotic greeting while coughing into her Denny's issued work shirt? How about that when I asked for vanilla flavoring in an ice coffee, I'm told they only have "sugared flavor"...um, thanks, I'll pass. The hot chocolate wasn't bad, but I needed coffee for the road. Why can they add vanilla to a coke, but not an iced coffee? Interesting. So, what's next? Oh, yes, the food. When I'm paying $9 for a 3 choice sampler, I'd appreciate it to come in a nicer presentation than plopped onto a salad plate all together. As for the nachos my boyfriend ordered, they came out also on a salad plate with globs of some kind of mystery meat and cheese shreds and chips. No lettuce, no pico, no jalapeños. Crap. It looked nothing like the picture. Finally, the registers were down, and that was the excuse for poor presentation and bad service apparently. We were told, "Sorry" multiple times but no solutions. As we walked to the register to pay, we told guests coming in waiting to be seated to "RUN, don't eat here!" They turned and left with deer in the headlight expressions. We were on our way into Pahrump to visit family and stopped in Beatty for some food. I must say the service was EXCELLENT!!! Our waitress was so sweet and very attentive. We travelled with my 4 year old who got really sick on the way. She was giving him all kinds of attention and toys to keep him happy. Wonderful place! We went to Denny's because my family and I came in from Las Vegas and our next tourist destination was Death Valley and as we strolled through the town we did not find any "good looking" places to eat . Back home we have a Denny's as well , and the food is fairly good there . When we came to this Denny's I was surprised by the food AND service . Yes , the waitress was very nice and polite , but took atleast 10 minutes to get our drinks . The restaurant had her working one of the entire sides and they were slammed ! Our food also took atleast half and hour to get out to our table and the table beside us who came in after us with a bigger party and more food got served first and we're were starving with the long road trip we just had ! As eating our food , my family and I were reading reviews about this restaurant and were laughing so hard we couldn't eat ! I ordered the "Zesty Nachos" because they looked good on the menu . When it came out I was surprised . The so called "meat" on my plate looked like someone pooped on a nacho and served it to me . We were thinking about going there for breakfast tomorrow , but I think we will stick with granola bars and bananas . At this point , McDonalds would have been a better meal . All the reviews previously here were describing exactly what we were eating and I don't think anyone finished their meal after that . I was here for dinner (3/27) with my family. There were a lot of things missing from the menu (soup, salads, milkshakes) because of a lack of ingredients, such as milk. Came here on a Saturday morning with my girlfriend on our trip to Death Valley. Food was decent. Atmosphere was what you'd expect at a Denny's. Admittedly, we were afraid that we were in for a horrible experience after reading all the negative reviews on yelp. To our surprise, the thing that really stood out the most was the excellent service we were provided from our server, Ruby. She was extremely cordial and on point.
