Denny's use to be our #1 place to eat at. The establishment is rated "A". That is great but how much did it cost to get that rating!! A group of us use to go there regularly, but the cleanliness and quality of the food has been lacking. The window ledges are filthy, shades stained, tables feel sticky, and at times the nates flying around my table and food become annoying. Recently, pieces of plastic were discovered in my friend's omelet. We notified the management. Yes, they apologies and were going to deduct the meal contaminated with plastic. We thanked them for their nice gesture, but we paid the entire bill. Either way, the neglect of the cook will not change anything, and this most likely will reoccur again and again. The place needs a good cleaning before allowing others to enjoy their meal. Never again. I will not waste my money at this Denny's and will be very cautious to go to others in the future. I ate here because this was the only restaurant open at 5 am. I had to get an early start and wanted breakfast. I would say it had been ten years since I ate at a Denny's. Upon entering I was greeted by the waitress and escorted to my booth. I noted that the entire restaurant had been scrubbed clean by the night crew. I ordered one of Magic Johnson's heathy breakfasts and settled in to drink my coffee. I have to say the coffee was some of the best I have had this trip. It was strong and full of flavor. The breakfast arrived and it was very good. The only issue is I am not used to seeing scrambled egg whites. It was a bit odd but very tasty. Service was excellent and I enjoyed my breakfast. We just pulled up just after 6 am after driving up from San Diego for 2 hours. Stephanie gave us the best service we've had in a long time. She was efficient, caring, and attentive. She memorized our orders. She was amazing. She said she's been a waitress for 28 years. She is a professional. We will definitely stop by here if we're in the area just to be served by Stephanie. Denny's has improved much lately I am happy to say. This location in Barstow is the second one I have had the double cheeseburger and I'm impressed with the size, quality, and presentation. I had the cheddar bacon tots on the side and they were very good. I visited on Monday evening and I found the place clean and well kept, the staff attentive and friendly. I'm sure this Dennys has a lot of travelers due to in being en route to and from Vegas but I don't think it accounts for laziness or being rude. We made a stop Sunday morning around 7am. We weren't greeted but I know for sure we were noticed. So we ended up seeing ourselves. We waited for 10 minutes and even called over a waiter/waitress who never swung by our tables to even give us a menu. After 10 minutes of nothing we left. Went down the street to iHop. This place is by far the worse Denny's place I've been. Very very Poor service. Our waitress came and took our drink order, drop our drinks and never came back. I can see there's only 2 server on staff, aside from that one who disappeared and appeared. Our orders were finally taken but the server was so busy that she keeps forgetting the condiments we asked. I asked for a high chair for my daughter 4 times and she never brought it .there we're flying inside the restaurant and it reeked of strong bleach odor . The manager at 8:45 pm 8/16/19 says she knows there are no paper towels in the men's restroom and that she knows the dispenser is broken. She knows this but has done and does not do anything to remedy this. She also is asked, on a trip to the counter where she is standing, for a refil of our empty coffee cup (before our order has arrived) and she says yes but goes to the other end of the restaurant to bus tables and never does return with coffee. Today my family took a trip to Denny's, we were having a long week and decided to get out and enjoy a meal. We walked into Denny's and my 3 year old son immediately ran to the ball machine, his dad gave him a dollar to play but he didn't win the ball. After sitting down at the table our waitress Rebecca gave my son a dollar to play the game and he lost again. Doing what 3 year olds do he threw a tantrum and Gabriella came from the back and gave my son the ball he wanted. I was having a tough day and they really made my day so much better by being caring and courteous. We stopped in for dinner on our way home from Arizona. It was kind of late, past 8pm. You may only think of Denny's as your regular old fatty diner food. I happen to be a very big fan of Denny's. Both for their regular high calorie options and their surprisingly healthier options. They also have their calorie counts listed. Always helpful. My uncle and I both got the Prime Rib Cobb Salad. It was excellent. Big chunks of succulent beef with all the Cobb fix'ns. I was able to share the egg and meat with my baby. We all sat in a booth that fit us comfortably with a highchair at the end of the table. Another great feature of Denny's, amazingly kid friendly. Always kid friendly. The wait staff here deserves an award for how great they were. Not only were they exceptional with us but I saw one waitress, off the clock, help two foreign exchange students find a way to get a rental car so that they could make it back to LA in time for their flights home to France. Apparently someone took advantage of them and took off with their money and previous ride back to LA. This woman went above and beyond helping these poor girls who were literally left alone in the middle of nowhere. Exceptional! My husband and I stopped in here for a bite after catching a movie down the road. We live on Ft. Irwin and Barstow is the closest place for us to "get away" for a few hours. Our meal was good, for Denny's. I mean if we had gone in expecting over the top excellent food, then we would have been disappointed...but we went expecting Denny's and it was good. I got the Hobbit Pumpkin Patch Pancakes, they were fantastic! My over medium eggs were cooked to perfection...not snotty whites and the yolks werent over or under cooked...my toast was perfectly golden with just the right amount of butter. My husband got his staple Lumber Jack Slam, and he said that it was REALLY good for Denny's... Our waitress was very sweet and attentive...I never saw the bottom of my coffee cup nor did my husband see the bottom of his coke. She even gave us BOTH free trading cards that are the current promtion (which only my meal qualified for) and told us there was a coupon inside and gave us the discount.
