This is a horrible Denny's I live in Atwater have been there several times service is slow food was only warm. I voice my concerns to on duty manage Lori who seemed not to care. I will never go to this Denny's again and recommend that you steer clear of this place drive a little further and go to the Denny's in Merced you will have a much better experience. read more

My wife and I went to Denny's just to get a light meal, and head back home. I came out of there rather ticked off at the experience. The service was atrocious. We both ordered a bowl of soup, and when we got it, mine was missing half . No mystery where it went, it was spilled all over the bowl, not cleaned up, or replaced, no nothing. I had to get up and walk over to the kitchen and ask for some crackers, and spoons for both the wife and myself. Then they brought me a casa dia without the trimmings. I had to show them the menu to prove that it was wrong. The wife ordered some "everything "hashbrown potatoes, that looked like they were burnt, and the everything stuff was barely on the food. Again, no fork, no butter, and no napkins on the table, anywhere. I drank my soda, which when I got it,was only half full, and I had to go back to the kitchen, and request a refill, after I was ignored at our table, and at the kitchen. I had to get loud to get their attention. So far no silverware, no napkins, spilled food, missing, food, I had to enter the kitchen twice, and I was getting mad. Then here comes the bill. They had over-charged us by about $5.00. I told the manager, who corrected the charges, about our problems and she blew it off. The place wasn't very busy, and I know why now. The staff didn't know about the menu. They obviously eat with their hands, can't do the math right, and don't care about the customers . They allowed me to enter the kitchen twice . The wife and I are in the food business, and know what it's all about. None of the staff we dealt with on this visit would wash our cars, much less work in our restaurant. Food, marginal, service deplorable, satisfaction none. That's why there are Mc Donald 's everywhere. Denny's can't cut the mustard, which they probably would goof-up!!! read more

Worst service any Dennys Ive ever been too. Coffee was cold took them 30 min to even ask for our drink order, no silverware, straws with our meals and drinks were given to us until we asked.. lettuce on salads was old n brown , by the time we got our food it was cold.. Darn, does the manager not care about keeping their customers happy? Perhaps they need to educate themselves on having a business that serves the public. We always hate going here and avoid it at all costs. Well, we ended up going again because we had already passed up the one in Merced and we live in Turlock. ( by the way the Denny's in Merced is the best Dennys ever. The service is amazing in Merced). any who, this Atwater Denny's had one server to serve about 8 tables!! Poor guy. He forgot to give us something's that we had asked, including the water my daughter kept asking over and over for but at this point I cant even be mad at him, I'm mad at the fact that management allows this nonsense to happen at their restaurant . Poor guy looked so stressed out and he still had the most positive attitude ever. In my opinion, There should be someone greeting, seating, taking drink orders and taking payments and at least two to three waiters! If they invested in this area their yelp reviews would be better and their business would boom. The food was great. Nothing special but it was edible and had flavor. They should allow their employees to shine and allow their customers to have a great dining experience by removing the stress of understaffing them. Let me start by saying that I am a loyal patron to Dennys me and my work crew go every Saturday to the Dennys in Merced, Ca. So this Sunday I decided to take the Family to our hometown Dennys in Atwater , CA. I kept raving to my family about the new pancakes recipe we got there at about 11am and they told us it would be a 20 minute wait which was fine we got sat down at 11:21 am we got our drinks and the several took our order at 11:35am by 12:30 we asked our server how much longer it would be for our food she said she would check a 2 minutes later she came back and said it would be 10 more minutes I thought to my self are you kidding 1 plus hour to cook 3 grand slam sluggers which consist of 2 eggs 2 bacon 2 sausages hash browns And pancakes we told our server to cancel the order and we left if this the way customers are taken care avoid with all prejudice take your business to the Merced Dennys instead I mean for Pete's sake in that hour long wait for the food we were approached only 1 time for a coffee refill and that is why it gets 1 star if I could give it less I would read more

Worst Denny's!!! Wait was long, staff was rude and unorganized. We were a group of 9 and won't be back ever!!! The lady's that work there are clearly not working not one waitress asked if we needed anything else the server was rude! The menus were sticky and greasy!!! They got 3 of our orders wrong! Asked for no avocado when I told the server she took the plate back and clearly just wiped the avocado off but yet didn't take the hair we found in it!!!! We got grossed out and just wanted to leave, We called the waitress and told her yet she offered no apology and said she will tell the manger I asked for the check and we received that very quickly. We always leave a tip but in no way do these "workers" deserve a penny for their service so we left none and I'm glad we didn't !!!Beware this place needs a clean up all over starting with staff those lady's working there leave a lot to be desired! In the end we did speak with the manager who did apologize and said she wasn't aware she gave us 2 $5 Denny's cards To go back we threw them away!!! I use to come here instead of Merced because usually not as busy and service is decent. Last few times I've come service is horrible. Wait 20 minutes to get drinks and even longer for food, and not even busy. Waitress forgot what I asked for and no refills, etc. Had to ask the manager bc waitress nowhere in site. Got here it was pretty busy. Waited which was not a problem. Server Fidel don't even know what time it was. Wanted soup got told soup was served til 11. It was 1120 when got seated. No problem I understand you're busy. Had to ask for my check so I can leave got to the register and the lady charged my card to another check that was way more then mine. This is the first time I have never tipped a waitress. My self and three grandkids ordered pancakes and waffles. The waitress that took our order wasn't the one to deliver our food. She said she would be right out with the syrup. After several minutes and watching her wait on other people. I approached her and asked for syrup. She said some one else would bring it out. After another lengthy wait. We got our syrup for our cold ass pancakes. So I called in to speak with the manager who was of no help at all. I was told there was no one else to complain to. No corporate number or owner number to call. The waitress needs to retire not my first bad experience with her. read more

My friends and I waited 45 minutes for our food, I ordered the skillet and the damn waiter gave my food to another dude and he just said we can keep it, and made a new one, took another 10-20 mins, I find that very unsatisfying. A chick with big tiddies walked in the same night though, made my day tbh. The tiddies were bigger than the skillet, the skillet is so small in depth. 5 stars because Denny's attracted that big tiddies puta into the restaurant when I was there. Good Job Denny's. read more

This place is pretty awesome!! I mean it is Denys yeah, but i really like the people that work there. I used to go to Merced or Turlock location, but i decided to give it a try again. Immediately when i walked in i was greeted with a very warm welcome by about three waitresses and even the manager himself. Felt like I was Norm from Cheers lol!! NEver experienced that at any Dennys I have ever been to. The resteraunt smelled and felt clean. My waitress I think her name was Alisha was very nice. The manager came by and asked me how the holidays treated me. The conversation felt very genuine like he actually cared. Very impressive. My food tasted pretty good. I ordered the Philly omlette, DELICIOUS! My waitress suggested o get it with eggwhite, great suggestion. From start to finish this was a good experience. I will be going back. read more

This place is horrible. Service is no good. We waited over 45 minutes to get out order, they didn't come to check up on us. Worst part was that after we had finished eating after waiting an hour, my boyfriend had yet to get his meal. The waitress FORGOT about his order. Don't recommend. Can I say the worst service I've ever encountered. First of all, I had called in advance to be courteous and give them a warning of the big group that was about to walk in. Secondly, our original waiter totally abandoned us and some kind girl whom I felt bad for took over when she was about to be off her shift. Third, they got half our orders wrong, and we waited nearly 2 hours to find out they were wrong. We only had two children in our group and they were the LAST to be served. I mean c'mon the kiddies should have gotten their food first. Then they knew they had f*cked up so they took 15% off our bill. Once we all actually left the building we saw an employee quickly followed behind us and when we were actually about to take off from the parking lot we saw a man taking down our license plate number. We confronted the man, went inside and they claimed we stole their cups, yes we did but simply because they didn't give us the to go cups and we were tired at 1 am after all their sh*tty service. Not only did they accuse us of stealing but the MANAGER said we were bashing the waiter which was certainly NOT the case. If anything, we simply said how we had the slowest service we've ever experienced. This is the FIRST & LAST time we'll be coming to this specific location. read more

So feeling a little pissed off right now! Went to Denny's in Atwater with 2 of my kids. Sat, took 7 min to get my drinks, ordered our food (came in a timely matter) put our cups at the end of the table to get a refill and not 1 of the 6 people that was working acknowledged us. Asked the waitress at the next table if I can please have a refill and she looked at me with an attitude and said "can u hold on". Now understand there was only 3 other tables there. So we waited and waited and finally my drink came. Well at this point we were done eating I crossed my arms and waited for someone to ask if we were done or needed anything else or wld you like ur check. Oh no! We got none of that. I made eye contact with all 6 of the servers there and nothing. I finally got fed up and talked to the manager. Well I got an apology and a $5.00 discount off a 40.00 bill... Really!
