I have gone here many times to get my car serviced because it's convenient and they always have appointments available, but I'm always overpriced. I've never really thought anything of it because they usually do great work but now I am just fed up. My headlight was damaged and I was going to get it fixed. I sat in the lobby for an hour, and no one approached me about what was going on with my car so I walked up to the front service desk. I was met with a $100 bill as well as notice that nothing was changed or fixed on my car and that they did a diagnostic of my car when I did not ask them to do that and hence had to pay the hundred dollars since they had a mechanic. read more

I purcha a 2011 Suburu Imprespa here on October 20th. my nephew, Cody Kapitzk, just died on Monday. He was 31 and died from choking. This place is HORRIBLE! Took my Honda in for the appt I made 3 weeks in advance. I show up extra early (like 2 hours) and wait for them to open so my engine would be nice and cool. When I drop it off they told me they "didn't have enough techs" so my requests likely wouldn't be done in the timeframe I requested. 4 1/2 hours go by, no call. Had to go in and inquire to which, no they didn't complete half the requested items. I got an email requesting how my service was, so I let the service advisor know before I filled out the official survey since my experience "wasn't 5 stars", obviously, she said next oil change was free. Fast forward a little, I decided to take advantage of the free oil change. I also requested a free multi point inspection because I heard a weird noise in my front end. Not only did they make me fight for the free oil change I was promised but it was another 4 hours of no calls or communication I had to just show up and ask for an explanation. Additionally, they charged me a diagnosis fee (which this diagnosis should have been found in the multi point inspection ) and a "rack fee" .. plus with the major diagnosis they told me my car had they were more concerned with charging me for a $65 cabin air filter which I can buy and change myself for about $12. Insanely bad service. Go support a small business elsewhere that respects people and doesn't undermine the knowledge of a woman. read more

Several years ago, I was told by the service manager, Roberta Callow, that I could not receive service on my Honda CRV that I bought from Denny Menholt as a consequence for writing a negative review to Honda after a poor service experience. I have a saved voice mail from her asking me to go to another Honda dealership in MT for service which I have done many times and was happy to do. I was NOT told that I was banned from the property, or that none of my family members could not receive service at Denny Menholt or that I could not help them do so. Fast forward to last week, I had to help my mom get service on her Honda Pilot because she is elderly with Parkinsons. Against my better judgment, my mom chose to go to Denny Menholt so I drove her to the dealership for service on her vehicle. Since it was under construction, I was not sure where the service department was so I called to make sure it was still where I knew it to be last. I spoke with a gentleman on the phone. My mom went inside and I stayed outside in the parking lot with my dog. I never entered the building and the service appointment was not for my car. Ten to fifteen minutes later, I get a call from Roberta Callow telling me my number had showed up on caller ID and asked me why I had called service, like she was tracking me down. I had to assure her that I was helping my mom with her Honda Pilot and that I was outside with my dog. It felt really invasive, accusatory and scary that I was being monitored like this. I have never met Roberta Callow in person but for someone to be that intense was very unsettling. Needless to say, my mom left without getting her car serviced. Denny Menholt will never see any of my family members at the service department ever again, and they are ALL Honda owners. read more

For the first time ever we bought a honda. For the first time ever we decided to go to a dealership when wires were chewed by a critter and stopped the AC from working. This happened twice, apparently from soy coated wires. Then our AC stopped working and it was evaluated that the compressor and coil were blown. This car has 29,000 miles and was just over 3 years. In spite of this part normally lasting for 150,000-200,000 miles it was deemed "defective" so the dealership/and the Honda goodwill program would not cover it as it was out of the 3 year warranty period too. $2700 is what they wanted to charge to fix it. This is unacceptable to me on a 2019 vehicle. Don't buy a honda and if you do, don't go to this dealership as they are NOT interested in helping you. read more

This business does a horrible job when it comes to the interests of their customers. Their customer service was extremely lacking to the point of being rude and snotty for no reason. In late April of 2018, my wife's car broke down due to the timing belt breaking. With her car being under warranty, we thought all would be good, but that wasn't the case. After the vehicle was inspected, Denny Menholt stated the vehicle had no oil in it and the dip stick was bone dry. They told my wife the warranty will not be covering the repairs. Sounding suspicious to me, I contacted Denny Menholt. They told me the dip stick was dry and therefore, there was no oil. I asked them if they removed the drain plug to check. They said no. After going back and forth with their service department manager, we were able to set up a meeting and record the oil plug being pulled. First, they showed my the dip stick, which guess what? The dip stick had oil on it. They then pulled the drain plug. Oil poured out of the pan just like I thought it would, minus a little bit that usually doesn't come out do to being throughout the motor. But even with the amount that came out, I know with my motor experience was plenty in order to keep the motor from seizing. After the meeting, the manager stated the warranty inspector would come look at it. Later the same week as the incident, my wife receives a call from Denny Menholt. The dealership stated they would not be paying to fix the car. Their reasoning, no motor oil was found in the motor. Instead of fighting what would undoubtedly be a long civil court battle, and the need for the vehicle, we decided to pay for the repairs which consisted of buying a new motor. Denny Menholt stated the total would be $6,000 to fix car. Yesterday, May 23, 2018, the dealership calls my wife and says the car is finished. Denny Menholt then says the total is $6, 945.00. Really??? This business is a joke and obviously looks for ways to cheat people out of money. They will never be getting our business again. read more

I came into the dealership for a simple oil change. I paid and left. Not even 72 hours later I am stranded on the side of the road because my car is stalling and won't start. Come to find out when I went in for the oil change when the plugged the computer into my car it uploaded to the system that I have a recall. Well first of all Roberta who took care of me for the oil change never mentioned I would need to come back because of a recall. I don't think I would have taken my car back knowing it could possibly stall out ( as the recall states). And what do you know it happened!!! I had to pay over $500 to get it towed to the closest dealership. Then was stuck with no car for 10 days having to pay for food and hotels out of pocket. I will never go back to this dealership. Wow! what a great Car buying experience i had at Denny Menholdt Honda. I had a real need to get a new used car when a deer hit my car and got totaled. Fortunately i met the Finance Mgr Mike Bing at at DMH and came by the lot and saw two good quality used cars that interested me. I wound up setting my eyes on a 2010 Toyota Sienna Van and from there i was super impressed with how the staff at DMH really fastracked my process. My salesperson was Lisa, with some help from Mark and even Lisa's husband Rein who works there too. Love the family angle! I was from Cal so i had out of state issues with the insurance, financing and docs needed but Mike Bing really got my loan fast with the current lender i had with my old car. It felt like the whole team really showed me that Montana luv and i'm a pretty savvy car buyer so i used internet sites and checked dealers all over the state, in Bozeman and even California. I found that the selling price, features, mileage and condition of the 2010 Sienna at this dealership were top notch value Finally i have to give props to the Sales Manger Justin who to me was the real difference. While i was in the dealership on a second visit, he called me out by name and just really felt like a heart centered guy. He really talked to me from the heart not like some Sales manager. right then i knew i was in. I just love my Sienna and i'm telling my friends about the cool experience and nice people they have at DMH. I'm already thinking about my next car i want to buy here. No responsibility taken by the dealership (or even a simple apology for failing to do one of the most important steps in changing oil) and terrible customer service/communication from Roberta. Extremely dissatisfied with Lisa Stafford and this dealership as a whole. I left a deposit check on a Friday evening to hold a vehicle until I could contact my credit union on Monday. I was told my check would not be deposited until a decision was made. On Monday, I let Lisa know my credit union would not approve a loan because the car was over priced. She then told me that my check was deposited and it would be a few days before they would reimburse me. I tried to let her know I didn't feel comfortable doing business with her or the dealership. I was disappointed in their lack of concern for someone's finances. Lisa told me it would be reimbursed in a few days then hung up on me. Complete childish behavior from a grown adult! read more

The service department at Denny Menholt is the worst I have seen in a long time. In fact our experience has just been appalling. We have been considering buying a new car and looked at Hondas, and have changed our minds because who wants to deal with such an inept service department. We have been trying to get the seatbelt fixed for over a year. Every time we called we were told it was backordered. I finally called the other day, 9 months later, and they finally agreed to get the part in and get it fixed. We set up an appt for 945, which we had to change later and were harrassed by a rude woman on the phone as to why we were changing it. !?!? When we arrived for the appt, we were told it would be an hour. Almost three hours later and no one had called. We started calling and would talk to someone who would then ask who we were dealing with in service. Who cares? The service department! Anyone in service should be able to help us! Then we were told that Troy, who has no interpersonal skills whatsoever, was on his lunch break. We left a few voicemails, all unreturned, and then drove over to find out what was going on. The woman in the office was extremely rude as well and Troy just left with our paperwork and disappeared. They finally admitted they had the wrong part! Almost 4 hours later! No apologies or anything! There wasn't a single apology from anyone for the entire terrible experience. They promised to have the part for us the following day, and we said we'd show up at 330 to get it installed. My daughter arrived and they told her to wait in the waiting area. A half hour later they came in and told her the part hadn't arrived! And who knows when it will! They didn't know this when she arrived?? The service we have received has just been unexcusable and baffling. This is supposed to be a professional business. What a joke. I know you buy a seatbelt online for our car, so no idea why they can't get one in in a reasonable time frame. I have no idea why anyone would buy a car from this place and have to deal with the service department. read more

Formerly Simpson, this business is now Denny Menholt Honda, which pretty much sucks in my opinion. On August 3, I went to them because the sprayers on my windshield wipers would not spray water anymore. They discovered a dead mouse in the reservoir and apparently it had decomposed enough to have stopped up the hoses and nozzles. (Gag, gross!) Their report from the service ticket: "Removed washer tank to remove dead mouse, cleaned out tank, blew out line, still not spraying well. Nozzles plugged, need replaced." I'm an RVer who tows my 2013 Honda Fit behind my motorhome and I was not going to be in Bozeman for the days it would take to order the parts and have them installed there. Since my next stop was in Kalispell, they recommended I order the parts from Eisinger Honda, which I did. Another RVer mechanic friend was going to install the nozzles, but when he opened the hood, he showed me how the cowling across the windshield did not fit correctly and the left side vertical piece was missing. He said it looked like the white clip had been broken and did not hold the piece firmly in place, and at some point it fell off. I called the service adviser at Menholt to inform her of this and she said to have the service manager at Kalispell (David) send a picture and they would determine what the next step was. Later, David called me back and said he spoke to Mike, the service manager at Menholt and his response was that everything was working right when I left and did not offer to do anything to address the missing cowling piece. David informed me that he would go ahead and order the missing part and install it for me at no charge. Really appreciated that since it was not their fault, but they would not be compensated for the part or their labor. Yesterday, I went in and he did exactly that and also fixed the rear washer blades that had not been cleaned out by Menholt. David told me they also discovered a part of a nest that the mouse apparently had started building and he cleaned that out, also. Seems to me that Menholt should have addressed that as part of the original problem since I paid them a tidy sum of $115.50 for their service. What really upset me was the remark from Mike to David that "everything was working right when she left." Obviously that is not true because they informed me I needed the nozzle parts to complete the repair so that the water could get through to the wipers. That's just a perfect example of a service provider saying whatever he thought would get himself off the hook, no matter how ridiculous and untrue it was. If he would have looked at his own service ticket, he could have seen that. I think the work by Menholt as well as the deceptive response to their negligence indicates a dishonest attitude and I would never return there for any service whatsoever unless you like being ripped off and lied to. read more

I brought my car in for headlight buffing today and as I was waiting in the waiting room they came back and they said they just cleaned them and I didn't need to buff them. so I saved $130. Had an electrical issue with my Civic. Was told I needed a new alternator and battery, cost @$700. When the work was done we drove the car home, and before we could get it in the driveway the exact same issue came up, and the car power died, dead battery would not start. Called the service department, and they would NOT come and get the car. Took the car to a Honda Mechanic. The service tech at DM Honda had NOT plugged the new alternator in, so the battery drained. So, horrible service work, and worse customer service. read more

edit: I gave this dealer a bad review for an ongoing repair which resulted in us bringing our car in 4-times for the same problem. At the time of my review we were waiting for the 4th repair to begin. What I am posting below is the aftermath. The 4th repair is now done, numerous people have apologized to us including the general manager, and the dealer has been very amenable to make-up for the problems that we've been having. I will acknowledge the repair they did is a very difficult one where pretty much everything comes together (transmission, axle, drive shaft, engine). A seal in that region of the car had begun leaking a month ago which is when we first brought it in. The bad: We had to bring our car in 4 times (so far), the final time was because of a major transmission oil leak that should have been checked before handing off the car to us. Approximately half the transmission oil leaked out in just 4 or so miles of driving and a couple of days being parked. The good: The dealer has loaner cars for long repairs of this nature and has provided one free-of-charge each time. The dealer was concerned about their reputation enough to call me during the weekend right after my review was posted. Although it was my suggestion to them instead of their own suggestion, the shop took extra lengths this time to make sure we are not being handed a car with an obvious oil leak (again). The general manager did assure me that only one long-term shop person has left the business and that several of his mechanics have decades of experience working on Hondas. They haven't charged us for any of the follow up repairs, so the main grief for me is that we have had to deal with this situation so many times. That leaves me with a dilemma for how to rate them. My original review was a 1-star. Based upon the complete picture of how they handled everything, I would summarize it best with a 3.5 star. Unfortunately, I cannot give 3.5 stars, it must be 3 (kinda bad) or 4 (pretty good). I guess the deciding factor for me is their continued attempts to make things right, and my knowledge that this repair is an exceptionally difficult one (as far as car repairs go). As a result, I am giving a hesitant 4-star rating. We are picking up the (hopefully) leak-free car today. read more

I had no idea how much I would miss and appreciated Monica & Duane in the Simpson service department! They fabulous, excellence like no other. The new ownership has been a 0/2 for service, not fulfilled any of my requests (fuse replaced, fluids checked, fuel filter replaced) when I made the appointments and both visits felt as if I were a burden. I do not recommend the Denny Menholdt service department where I have been a patron for ten years and I may not buy another honda because of it! read more

This place I have brought several vehicles in to and they misdiagnosed a problem, and also have given me problems that are non-existent. Thankfully the misdiagnosed problem I went to get a second opinion and found the actual problem, but they have told me things that I needed and I don't get the supposed problem fixed and next time I bring it in they tell me a different problem, and that the previous problem is no longer a problem. Really wish there was more honesty involved in this dealership, they could be a very useful resource if they were honest. read more

Third time having my car go to Honda for repairs due to overheating yesterday. They finally tell me that it is the head gasket that is starting to go out, which was the very first thing I inquired about when this whole issue first started and they told me that the head gasket was in pristine condition and that I could drive to Wisconsin in July for my wedding just fine. They proceed to tell me that all of the parts (radiator, timing belt, water pump, radiator hose, thermostat, temperature sending unit, coolant flush and a valve gasket) that were recently replaced by them, needed to be replaced so they refuse to pay for the head gasket and quoted me at minimum $1,000 to repair it. That is without machining if it needed it. I have spent at least $1400 on previous repairs for this issue just in the last 2 visits. Denny Menholt Honda, you just lost a very frequent and loyal customer. read more

These guys are the best! BUT the best person out of this great crew is Brittany. I bought a used car from a private dealer and got taken. Brittany and her crew in service took care of me, explained everything so even a lay person could understand and did the work as promised. One of the best things (something their neighbor does not provide) is a shuttle to and from home/work so we don't have to sit there for hours on end. AND the nicest people who are the drivers!! I met the nicest three people and actually did not dread having my all day work done today. More of a surprise was I didn't expect to get my car back until last thing this evening but Brittany remembered I have a daughter in school and knew I needed to get her home. Way to go guys! Bought a used car from this dealer. Due to a large rain storm I was unable to get a great look at the full condition of the paint on the vehicle. The dealership was also busy and only had one finace person working as well as one detail person in their shop. So, they asked if they could detail the car when I brought it back to have a broken part replaced that I had identified and requested to have repaired before I would sign off on the car. A few days later after not hearing anything on the order staus if the part, I elected to handwash the car myself. Upon doing so, I see that the paint is pretty shot on the car especially on the hood. There are a crazy amount of scratches and paint hazing. I called the dealership immediately to see to inform them of the issue and see if they had a buy back program as the value I thought I was getting with the used car went straight out the window. The dealership told me to bring it in so they could look at it. I was told to speak with Nathan Goodman. Nathan did offer to have the car buffed but when I was leaving and looked at the cars's hood again in the sun, I was not very confident that paint could be repaired. I got Nathan and asked him to look at the car since he did not look at it before he said they would buff it. Nathan came out side and was confrontational from the start. He tells me a bought a used car and what did I expect. He then proceeded to state, "What's the deal? Can you just not afford the payments?" I understandably then became pretty upset resulting in Nathan telling me I could get off his lot. I was flabbergasted and calmed down immediately as I could see where this was going. I did keep the appointment to have the car buffed. Although I received a call a few hours after dropping it off from their service manager who stated the car's hood was beyond repair. She also said that it was not like that when she saw it. I started to tell her the situation and was assuring her I did not own a buffer and wouldn't attempt to buff a car much less one I just bought that had significant paint damage. She cut me off mid sentence and said "do want to know what we can do or not?" Again I was blown away by the way their managers decided to go about this communication. It was extremely stressful and demeaning. Please do not let these people treat you as they have me. I have bought 10 new or used cars and have never had an experience even close to this. It is obvious that customers do not matter to this place, just sales and how dare you buy a used car. read more

During August of 2014 my daughter and I were traveling to Yellowstone Park. We are from California and our 2006 Honda Accord broke down in the middle of the night and had to be towed to Simpson Honda. You can imagine my concern about how I would be treated by a car dealership automotive repair shop when my car is towed in the middle of the night with out of state license plates. I can tell you that I was very pleased with the service. The car was worked on immediately and the charge was only $55.00 for a sensor that had become coated. I am not sure that I would be treated so fairly back at home. I would highly recommended Simpson Honda. read more
