Not a particularly great experience with this shop recently. I was involved in a serious front-end…read morecollision when a gentleman totaled my truck by cutting across my lane of travel without looking both ways. It was immediately towed to Crash Champions Bozeman (CCB) in hopes they could repair it after they did a great job repairing a headlamp and grill on my truck the year before. After insurance deemed it a likely total loss based on photos I provided at the crash site, they contacted CCB to tow it from their yard for final inspection. CCB slow rolled the entire process because someone at their shop wanted me to retain it and sell it to him/her for their personal rebuild project. This was confirmed by Mike at CCB front desk who asked me for a price the day I showed up to remove the after market accessories. I made it clear the private sale wasn't happening. Apparently the person at CCB was not pleased because an absolute circus ensued. CCB repeatedly told me a verbal approval to release the truck to the insurance tow company was perfectly ok, but they told insurance it must be written approval - or it's not leaving their yard. I left 2 voicemails, also spoke with Mike and a Carolyn independently, authorizing the tow in each conversation, and also sent an email which was "lost" in their general inbox. It cost me the better part of 6 days of an already slow and painful insurance process - all they had to do was green-light insurance to pickup the truck after insurance and I contacted them over and over again. Overall ... not thrilled with the scummy feeling they left with me. Insurance confirmed they will urge their customers to use a different shop moving forward after documenting the conflicting instructions and private sale request story. Makes you wonder what other shenanigans they pull on insurance (not that insurance companies need defending) but honest work from honest people, like my insurance guy, is still honest work.

My insurance had Crash Champions on their designated shop list and it was the closest in my area. Although I didn't have much of a choice in servicing my vehicle with Crash Champions, I'm pleased it worked out the way it did. Lonny was my correspondent through the shop, he updated me every time the shop was able to move my vehicle along in its rehabilitation process. This was especially important to me because my insurance agent wasn't very communicatively reliable with my claim. Not only did Crash Champions repair my vehicle in a timely manner, they also talked me through it all along the way. Although Lonny was my main correspondent, I spoke with at least 3 different employees on the phone, all of which were helpful and knowledgeable. I hope to never crash another vehicle, but if I do and I am in the Bozeman area, Ill be giving Crash Champions a ring.

I broke down in the middle of Nevada, called Randy and based off my description he was able to pinpoint the problem and advise me of my best options. I immediately returned, but after a brief inspection I was told there was nothing wrong. When I left the shop, the warning alarm came on again. I called Auto Stop, explained that the warning had returned, and was again assured there was nothing wrong. I was told to wait and see if the alarm came on again after driving. Unfortunately, the problem persisted, and I could smell coolant burning on the hot engine. I made it home just before coolant began dripping from the vehicle. At that point, I had the van towed to another repair shop. The second shop found that the primary coolant hose from the reservoir to the engine had been installed incorrectly and was approximately 3/4 inch too short. They also discovered a second hose with a large bulge that was on the verge of rupturing. Both issues required immediate repair. What disappointed me most was not simply that mistakes were made, but that my concerns were repeatedly dismissed. After the warning alarm came on twice within minutes of leaving the shop, I expected a thorough inspection of the cooling system rather than reassurance that nothing was wrong. Because of the improper installation, I incurred more than $500 in additional repair costs, plus the cost of towing the vehicle to another shop. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Auto Stop. The quality of the installation, the lack of careful follow-up, and the poor customer service left me with significant additional expense and inconvenience.
