The infection was severe, but she handled it with the kind of precision, patience, and compassion you rarely see anymore. She and her assistant worked in perfect sync--gentle, steady, and so kind. Every so often, one of them would softly touch my shoulder just to check that I was okay. That simple human care meant everything when I was in pain and terrified. And it didn't stop there. Dr. Yankelevich is, as of January or so, my dentist. I haven't had "my own dentist" since I was 17. That's not to say I haven't had dental care, O.o I just haven't had a regular dentist. I will most definitely be sticking with her. I used to live just around the corner. I watched as the building was renovated and was excited at the prospect of having a dentist so close by. By the time I made my first visit, I had already closed a deal on a home in another neck of the woods. I worried that I would be moving practices yet again. Let me tell you, after my previous two visits, I will continue to make the trip to Village Dental, even now that it is a bit out of the way. The practice is spotless, for starters. Everything is brand new and there are some very interesting tools as a result. The dental tech who did my cleaning was awesome. He was friendly and chatty, but even better, described what all of the new technology did. I really appreciated the "tutorial." It made an otherwise tedious task more involved and enjoyable. For my first visit, I wasn't really treated by Dr. Yankelevich, but for my second, I went to have a cavity fixed that I got from my wisdom teeth pressing against my molars. The good doctor is quite skilled, and her tiny hands help significantly...no knocking your face all over the place and stretching your mouth until your lips tear. Hah! The dentists at this practice are very talented and skilled at what they do and it shows that they care very much about their patients. Went to the dentist for the 1st time in about 3 years this week ( I know! Gross...I've been moving a lot and without insurance during that time). Village DentalCare was part of my insurance's network and had outstanding reviews on Google. The reviews were spot on. Such a pleasant and SUPER clean office. Chuck, the hygienist, is awesome..makes sitting in a chair for an hour actually enjoyable. Pro or Con? You decide. The one think I noticed is that the office has a very open lay-out which allows you to see basically every other patient. To me, it doesn't matter at all, but if you are wanting a ton of privacy you may want to take a look at the office before committing to an appt. Overall great experience! Honestly the best Dentist I've been to in my life! Dr. Katya was friendly, knowledgeable, and most import: GENTLE! I absolutely hate going to the dentist. They have never showed x-ray and then treated. When I changed new dental office, they sent different patient's x-ray. Not trust at all.

Dental work has always stressful for me. I have trouble getting numb. Dr. Yankelevich grew up around her family's practice and has always considered the dentist's office to be a happy place. She and the staff work really hard to relay those good feelings. They worked with me and for my major procedure, I was given kind words, a gentle touch, laughing gas, the Food network on TV, Shubert playing in headphones, and encouragement. I've had a lot of dental work done over the years-- four root canals, two broken teeth, even a molar that had to be pulled-- even though I get my cleanings done religiously every six months. (Guess I just have unlucky teeth!) Since I've moved several times, this also means I've seen a LOT of dentists. Dr. Katya is hands down the best dentist I've seen. She is thorough, professional, and very kind. Especially with my dental history I've had a lot of dentists try to sell me on things I "need," like tooth whitening or replacement fillings. Dr. Katya is good at pointing out my options and then leaving the decision up to me. She's very understanding that dental work is expensive and is good at letting me know what work really needs to be done, and what is optional or can wait. The hygienists and office staff are also amazing! After going here for a few years, everyone knows my husband and I by name and asks us about things they remember from our last visit, even though we're usually only in twice a year. I actually look forward to going in for cleanings! As a bonus, I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes in the waiting room-- they are serious about getting you in for your appointment on time and getting you out and on your way as quickly as possible. read more

I had services performed by this dr.'s office. (January before last) I had insurance to cover my services before I went & it was a first time seeing this Dr's office. Sure the medical staff were nice, but it was clear that universal precautions were not being taken. Gloves were being removed fingers put in my mouth, then the same gloves replaced then put on then replaced. No masks were worn by staff during any procedure. In addition they had "issues" completing "pre approval" requests from my insurance company & had multiple issues with paperwork not being submitted on time causing delays in being seen by the dr. All in all services were far from professional in my opinion. A year after services were rendered I got a card in the mail asking me to come back for another dental appointment. That card QUICKLY went in the garbage, proof they had my correct address. Six months went by then all of a sudden out of the blue their billing office calls me saying I owe them money for something they claim they did for me? I advised them when I was there as long as my insurance covered services that was fine. At the time I had no extra cash to pay for anything my insurance company didn't cover & I told them this. After all I was just going in for a cleaning & a check up. Both Chuck & the Dr. were in the room at the time & no one else was, I was in the chair... Now this billing clerk on the phone refused to tell me how much I owed saying because of my poor attitude she had gone ahead & turned it over to a collections agency meanwhile I haven't even received a bill in the mail or anything just some random phone call right? Well when I asked if I should go to their office to resolve this matter she told me if I had came down there that she would call the police & have me reported as a terrorist!!!!! She said to me "I just needed to be responsible for my own health care & pay my bill". I told her I was responsible for my bills by having my insurance company cover "regular routine" dental services prior to making the appointment in the first place. She also said that since I was on the phone with her so much why don't I get a job in a call center someplace. I told her I had worked in a call center before but a lot of them had been moved overseas. She then suggested that I should move there. When I advised her that there I could get universal dental care provided by the government there she really didn't like that. When I pointed out to her that it was because her paperwork wasn't submitted to my insurance company on time & caused a delay in services she didn't want to hear that either. They even tried to "claim" they had been sending me statements to my address, but the only thing that ever arrived from them was that stupid card in the mail to invite me back for another appointment. When I asked why I hadn't received a bill the offices response was I should have called them??? Keep in mind that this literally almost a year & a half ago!!! When I asked her well about how clearly she had my phone # why didn't she call me earlier than this? She refused to answer that. In the mean time my phone hasn't changed & neither has my address. Her mistake was in ASSUMING since the mail wasn't getting sent back to her that it was a valid mailing address for me. In attempting to resolve this matter with them by having to call back 4x because the billing clerk kept hanging up on me I called the alternate number on their voice mail system. "Voicemail at 1pm on a Monday" after being hung up on several times. The message when I called that # went to a SprintPCS voicemail box. Here I thought it was going to another office out of town? No, it's going to someone's cellphone. I left a voicemail in BOTH locations & NO ONE has had the nerve to call me back to attempt to resolve this matter at all. I looked them up on BBB.org & come to find out that they have already had a judgement against them before for "billing & collections issues". (Imagine that!) As of this writing they have a B rating & I suggested in both voicemails that they contact me in a timely manner regarding my issue or I'd be writing another dispute with the better business bureau. In addition I've contacted several agencies to file complaints against such dental practices & procedures that had occurred in the office at the time of my visit including the Ohio Dental Board & the Ohio Board of Health. I plan on keeping my word & giving them the opportunity to resolve this billing matter & apologize for their behavior in a timely manner. The staff is friendly, professional and thorough. It's obvious each staff member is very knowledgeable and genuinely cares about the dental health of their patients and the patients themselves. What I appreciate most is their diligence when it comes to working with insurance providers to find out exactly what is and is not covered and clearly communicate that information with the patient. Prior dentists I've visited have not been so diligent, resulting in unnecessary xrays and uncovered bills. read more

I used to see Dr. Katya at her old office many years ago. I decided to keep seeing her after the business moved from very close to my home to not at all close to my home, because she is truly one of the smartest and most professional doctors I have ever encountered. She is gentle, listens to everything her patients have to say, and you can tell she genuinely knows and loves her work. When I was around 8 years old, I fell and busted up some front teeth. I've had many many procedures done, mostly by Katya, and was told that ultimately I would need a crown and veneer. Those are both pretty pricey, and the office was very patient with me and didn't push me when it came to getting the work done. I always knew I wanted Katya to fix them- she is very thorough and I have never been dissatisfied with her work. I finally bit the bullet and scheduled my appointments a while back, While I was nervous, I knew it really needed done, and I couldn't wait to see the finished product. Every person I dealt with in the office was super nice and patient with me about everything and helped ease my nerves. When everything was done and I looked in the mirror, I couldn't believe I had waited so long to get it done. I went from hating my smile to wanting to show it off (two front teeth... pretty important!)
