I came here recently and the store is really cool on the inside! I really liked the manga panel walls and was impressed that they lit up. There's also a couple couches, booths, and tables for a cozy cafe feel. I ordered from a kiosk so service was quick and easy. I got the lechera matcha latte with 50% sweetness. It was okay, not my personal favorite from matcha as it was slightly grainy. My friends got other drinks that were pretty good so I'd definitely want to come back to try some of their other menu items.
Denki's Boba has a really cool anime theme. Lots of opportunities for cool photos. The service is fast and efficient. They have a wide variety of drink options. My friend loves boba so we've tried a lot of places and she said it was the best she ever I had. I ordered the mango peach green tea and it was so good! We will definitely be back!
Service was nice here! The staff was friendly and helped answer a few questions. My drink came out pretty quickly as well. I was happy to hear they have non dairy substitutes. I got the Thai tea with oat milk and boba. Part of the reason I ordered it was the staff said it was sweet, and I love my drinks sweet. And it was really good! My drink was sweet but you could still taste the tea flavor. The boba pearls were also really delicious and the right amount of chewy. I look forward to trying more drinks here!
We came here for the first time a while ago and we ordered the Tarochimaru. This drink with boba was sweet and refreshing. You can adjust the level of sweetness. The service was great and they were super friendly. The ambiance was chill and adorable. Depending on the time and day you come in, it can definitely be a great place to chill with friends or have some peace. I love the decor and the ambiance.

I love the anime theme since this helps this boba stand out from the rest. Another plus, spacious with multiple areas to sit! I like the various drink options and I tried the Crème Brûlée. This was the right amount of sweetness and the boba was chewy and sweet. While we relaxed in the front seating area, a line started to form at the cash register. I can't imagine how busy this place is when Eastlake High gets out. Cons: Website not yet updated to reflect that it's now open. Unable to order online as a result so you need to come in and place an order. Tarochimaro is the most priciest of all the drinks at $7. Yes, you get a "free" sticker but this is incorporated into the drink price. It's a nice looking drink but I'd rather just order something else. A fun place to have some boba and relax.
Stopped by after a grocery run at Vons and discovered this as I was passing by and saw the decor was pretty awesome. Who doesn't love a little demon slayer and anime while you drink your boba! I ordered a Thai Tea and Ube drink. We waited by the claw machines for my tasty treat ! If you are in a hurry this may not be your boba rest stop, but if you have time to lounge and hang this is where you want to be. It's also nice that it's got a late closing time. I'll try again when I am not in a hurry to see if it's a more pleasant experience as we gotta support local businesses. :)
I stumbled across Denki's Boba while in the area and am sure glad that I did. This location is located in a strip mall with lots of other eating establishments and is perfect for an after dinner treat. I was surprised at how popular and crowded it was and loved the anime decor which makes this boba shop unique. They also had claw games and cute seating areas. The menu was very appealing to me with a variety of options that I like. I decided to go with one of the popular drinks, Taromochimaru and was probably one of the best taro bobas I've had in SD. One thing I do wish they had more than 2 sizes, particularly a larger size for those that are sharing. Additionally, the prices were pretty much in line with other boba places, however I had to add boba to my drink for an extra charge. Great place that I will be visiting again when I'm in the area!
Was looking for a boba place around the area and came across Denkis boba. Walking in, the place was pretty awesome! It was anime themed with an emphasis on Naruto! I ended up using the kiosk. There was only one worker that was working and she was super sweet when I had a question about what the tarochimaru drink was, which I ended up getting and my partner the Chamango. Right after ordering our drinks, many more other people walked in and the wait time for the two drinks were pretty long, 15 minutes since there was only one person working. Now the part that they lose points is the PRICE. It's super expensive and pretty average for the flavor and SUPER small, not even a regular size at any other boba shop . Nothing out of this world and tastes like any other boba place. Upon the tax they also charge a service fee. For the two drinks we ended up paying 19.02!!!!!! If that was the I would have (and should have) gone to a different boba shop for more flavors, better service and better flavor for the price point.
First impression is Wow! I'm not a Naruto or animae guy. But I'm sure if you were, this is the place where you'd enjoy drinking some boba. My kids ordered a tea and a taro milk tea. I just tasted theirs because I wasn't in the mood for a whole cup to myself. Both were good, not too sweet but really big flavor. Unfortunately they ran out of boba. Oh well, maybe next time. The staff were friendly and were working hard. They had their hands full with a huge crowd in house. Despite that, they were smiling and cranking out drinks.

Stumbled upon this cool place when my daughter and I were craving some boba. We love anime so this was a really awesome find! Immediately knew we were coming back again to show the rest of the family. The staff are awesome. Super helpful. The place has a cool vibe. I can totally see this as a hangout spot for anime lovers. They have anime decals on the wall, anime figures/statue, and, did I mention, claw machines?! Check this place out!

I'm always down to try new boba spots around San Diego, and my partner had heard good things about this place, so we decided to give it a try. As soon as you walk in, you're immediately hit with the anime theme throughout the shop. I'm not the biggest anime fan myself, but I can definitely appreciate the artwork and overall vibe of the space. I went with the Tarochimaru, while my partner got the Lechera Matcha. Both drinks were great from the very first sip. Drinks were flavorful and easy to enjoy. Overall, this is definitely a spot that's earned a place in my boba rotation. read more

We ordered Denki's Boba through DoorDash and, unfortunately, it left a lot to be desired. We tried the Crème Brûlée Milk Tea, Boba Milk Tea, and Thai Milk Tea. I was especially excited for the Crème Brûlée Milk Tea, expecting a distinct caramelized vanilla or creamy flavor, but it tasted more like a plain milk tea. There wasn't anything that really set it apart, and it wasn't very sweet. The Thai Milk Tea was also surprisingly bland and seemed a bit watered down, lacking the rich sweetness and bold flavor I typically expect. I'm not sure if the drinks suffered from being delivered rather than enjoyed fresh in-store, so I'm willing to give them another chance before making a final judgment. Hopefully the next experience is better. read more

Never knew about this place until my son told me about it they do school events and other fundraiser things for nearby schools which is awesome to hear! Love the anime cafe style super fun especially for the kids these days, many drink options even for those who don't drink boba lol so that was also great had an Oreo drink was super good! The vibe is very chill and relaxing very cool sculptures and figurines as well as decor to take lots of pictures of and with! Great love for any time lover/ boba lover! read more

I had seen this place on some ads on Instagram and been wanting to try this place. It's such a fun, cool hangout spot with lots of space for anyone that wants to just come hang out with friends or do some studying. The girl that helped us at the counter was very friendly and very professional. We tried the Oreo shake and crème brûlée taro Boba milk tea, which we heard was a popular item. The drinks were delicious. I think price wise these are about the same as most Boba places you go to if you're into a lot of fun art anime and some good drink drinks you should definitely check this place out. read more

Went to their Grand Opening. Line was really long which is a great thing! Some waited 2 hours just to get in. We waited 1hr 25min from line to getting our drinks. Spacious inside, cool anime decor and merch. We ordered milk tea and they made my request of hot milk tea with boba. We are very particular with our boba. Theirs is fresh and gooey!! Passed our taste test. They have a claw machine. We'll be back to try their other drinks. They have smoothies, açaí bowls too. read more

3 stars for now, may update after trying it again. Decor: 5/5, dweeb heaven Wintermelon Milk tea: 4.2/5 Abuelitas Chocolate Milk Tea: 2/5 (I'm not sure if the drink was supposed to have no sugar, but other than the sweetness from the boba it was devoid of any other sugar. Or it could have just been a mistake and they forgot it) The wait was really long---about 40+ mins---even at 9pm. It seems like they're still trying to fine tune the ordering/getting drinks out process, but that was expected. Staff was really friendly and helpful, so I do look forward to coming back after they've got it down! read more

Super excited to try this new boba spot here in otay! Grand opening is Saturday 25th from 12-8pm. It's anime themed but the best part is a portion of the funds go to the Los Angeles fire relief. Love the community support. Definitely will update this coming Saturday. read more

I was really disappointed with my visit to Denki's boba shop. While the drinks were okay, the claw machine games are a total scam. They advertise Pokémon cards as prizes, but when I won some, they turned out to be fake cards. This is super misleading and unfair, especially to kids and fans who think they're getting something real. If you're going here for the boba, fine--but don't waste your money on the games. Very shady practice *UPDATE* 8/31/25 I want to give credit where it's due -- after my review, the owner, Nick, personally reached out, apologized, and took immediate action by contacting the third-party company responsible for the machines. He acknowledged the issue and made it clear that this kind of thing isn't acceptable. I really appreciate how seriously he took the feedback and the steps he's taking to prevent it from happening again. It shows he genuinely cares about his customers and the experience. Denki's just opened in eastlake and is a very cool and unique local business. The interior is decorated in elements from different anime like naruto, dragonball, one piece, and demon slayer which is a fun addition for fans of the series. It's been busy the last few days but the service has been very swift and efficient despite the lines. Only waited about 10 minutes for 3 drinks on the two occasions we've went (7:30Pm on a friday and 9pm on a monday) We've tried the Oreo Smoothie - really enjoyed this, it's a very good drink! It's light and has a nice mix of cookie and cream flavor. Tastes like blended oreos and milk and is rich in taste Signature Milk tea, Jasmine Milk Green Tea, Thai Milk Tea- all pretty good. little milky but they all still preserve a good sweet tea flavor. also really light and refreshing Tarochimaru - creamy, sweet drink if you enjoy on the sweeter side! Taro flavor is prominent but not too strong. They ran out of boba both times we went, and it would've been good to try but the drinks are solid even without toppings! read more

Front desk immediately greets you when you walk in which a lot of places don't do nowadays. They were super friendly and the drinks were amazing. Can't wait to try others from the menu. This is probably the best mango, peach tea I've ever had! I come here every Saturday. I usually get a matcha, strawberry smoothie, mango smoothie. Everything I've tried is so refreshing and tasty amazing! The staff are so nice and generous! All the anime decor is pretty amazing too. All of my favorites. Not to top it off their claw machines! All the prizes are anime related. So far I won three times. They are not hard to win like other machines. Overall this boba place is pretty amazing. I'll definitely continue to come every Saturday! read more

A great place for family and friends to grab a boba or two. The service was great. I was a bit unsure of which of the two drinks I wanted so the cashier helped me out with choosing the ube crème brûlée and adding the cheese foam topping along with boba. Oh and don't forget 50% sweet I can't handle too much sweetness. Would totally recommend this spot. read more
