    To go donuts

When I'm in the area and you want dessert, you gotta try MOCHINATICS . Stopped by to try the Dubai donut and the Dubai cookie. I was not disappointed! So good Donuts are expensive but where else can you go to for mochi donuts and for the extra charge you can make it a Dubai specialty.

Can't go wrong with a sweet tooth here! They have a LOT of selections including drinks too. They do have savory items but sweets is the way to go! They definitely know how to do a mochi donut right. Soft, airy, and tasty! Flavors were spot on and not too sweet. The mochi filled cookies were unique and different! The mochi was very tasty too and the cookie probably would taste better if just warmed up 5-10 seconds. Not too sweet again which I liked. Halo-halo was nice and refreshing! I liked how they added boba to the mix. The Dubai strawberries were so awesome! The strawberries were fresh and they heated up the chocolate too. The only thing is that there was a little bit too much chocolate poured in for our liking! It overpowered the taste of the Dubai katafi and pistachios. A dark chocolate options would be amazing!

4 ube, 4 glazed, 2 churro, and 2 cereal. Quite a boujee product.

Ever since the closure of Mochinut nearby, this store basically replaces it. The place is hip, young, and fresh. A great addition to Town Center Mall but with one big caveat; it's expensive. A dozen mochi donuts costs $35. Standard boba drinks are under $10 but the extravagant drinks are more pricey. Yet another store selling expensive goodies. Service was alright. Don't expect any value either because the donuts are small. Lots of Filipino inspired goodies which i appreciate but it caters more to a rich crowd than the frugal ones.

These are hands down the best mochi donuts in otay / Chula Vista! I was lucky enough to discover Mochinatics during Covid days - when my best friend visited from the Bay Area. He told me we were going to someone's house to pick up donuts. I was so confused but when we got there, we were not the only ones picking up an order. I was impressed with how organized the order process was, freshness of the donuts were and oh my gosh the flavor does not compare to any other donuts I've had! This was over 3 years ago. Fast forward to now... the family has this store front with more options and continue to develop new items as well. As we entered, we were welcomed by big smiles and a friendly staff. The inside is clean, menu is easy to read as they also have a display of the donuts available to purchase. My family and I opted for the chocolate biscuit, Oreo and Ube donut. All three were phenomenal. I love how sweet the donuts are but they are not too sweet. The mochi texture is perfect too. The store is conveniently located inside the otay ranch mall. Plenty of parking, space to eat outside and a few seating options inside as well. They also serve drinks such as boba, pancakes and mini donut bites too. I appreciate their amazing service and kindness. 10 out of 10 recommend this place.

My first experience with Mochinatics was through Instagram. One of my friends entered me into a contest and I won 6 mochi donuts. This was during the pandemic years and they were so good. Followed them on Insta and FB and was excited they just opened their storefront. It's a cute little shop with some seats inside. There are also tables outside in a small courtyard. They had a Wicked theme going on and I bought each one that was available! They were just as good as I remembered! I also gave Cako a small piece of the pumpkin pie churro which she loved! Definitely worth coming to! And Cako Approves!

I've been coming back here multiple times over the past month since I wanted to try a variety of items before leaving a review. I love what they do with their Dubai chocolate desserts, they're very good. My partner likes their cookie butter items. My favorite items are the Dubai chocolate Beignet, Dubai chocolate covered strawberries, Dubai chocolate cookie, and their chicken Katsu sandwich! I've tried two of their drinks and unfortunately I'm not a fan. Service is usually quick and they are polite. Their chicken Katsu sandwich is so good, I'm glad I don't need to go to old Chula Vista or Mira Mesa for good Sandos now. Definitely a must try. I've tried their masubis as well but prefer their sando.

Finally got to check out Mochinatics, been waiting for them to open their storefront. More than just mochi donuts, there are other pastries, drinks such as milk teas, refreshers, cheesecake blends, ice espressos, & brown sugar drinks. Being a Filipino owned store, they also offer halo halo. Mochi donuts flavors change on a weekly basis. And pastries are available until sold out, so may want to call ahead. I also recommend following them on IG to see what's up and coming and specials. Today I got the Ube cannoli, chocolate biscoff, churro, and guava cheesecake. All tasted yummy fresh and chewy. Friendly customer service. Will definitely be back. I saw they will be offering the viral Dubai chocolate flavor. Excited for that!

I've been purchasing donuts from the Mochinatics fam from day 1! They are the sweetest family and are so dedicated to providing amazing treats. Upon entering, they were friendly and greeted us with a warm welcome. They also provided recommendations for drink choices. The ambiance was nice and relaxing since we went on a weekday morning. The black sesame foam latte was one of the best coffees I've ever ordered. Their mochi donuts are so unique and relevant to the time of year. I bring these donuts to parties and they're always a hit! You can also preorder donuts for pickup! Highly recommend coming to Mochinatics and supporting their business!

The machinations are delicious! Kind service ! Can't say much about the ambiance because I always order for take out but it is a small but cute shop.

The staff was genuinely friendly, and we were able to find a seat inside without too much trouble. We expected a bit of a wait given how busy it was, but the timing ended up being a bit off. Our food arrived first--we had the avocado toast and the mini green chilaquiles. Both dishes were delicious, though the chilaquiles verdes leaned a little heavy on the garlic. (Seriously--hours later, even after brushing, lunch, and multiple rounds of mouthwash, that garlic flavor was still going strong.) We took our time eating, hoping the drinks would arrive, but they didn't come out until much later. We ordered a cappuccino and an iced churro latte. The cappuccino finally came out right as we finished eating--it tasted good, just a bit lukewarm. About five minutes later, the iced churro latte was ready, so we ended up taking it to go. That one was actually really good. Overall, the food and drinks were solid, and the staff made a great impression. I'd definitely like to come back and give it another shot. I love supporting small, locally owned businesses, and with a little adjustment to the flow--like pausing mobile orders during peak times or dedicating a team specifically to them--this place could really elevate the experience.

My husband and I both love ube, and Cafe 86 is known for its variety of ube desserts. It was fairly quiet when we visited on a Saturday afternoon. Since we had already eaten lunch, we decided to stop by for dessert. The inside was pretty nice -- I especially liked the lighting, which gave the place an industrial vibe. There were couches and tables for seating, making it feel comfortable overall. We were greeted by a younger employee who could've been a bit more energetic and welcoming. The dessert case also looked a little sparse and underwhelming. My husband ordered the Ube Monster shake, and I got the ube cheesecake. The shake was pretty good, though not as creamy as I expected, and I wished the ube flavor was stronger. The ube cheesecake, on the other hand, was fluffy and not overly sweet, which I really liked. It also had a thick cookie crust that was delicious. Still, I would've loved a more pronounced ube flavor in that as well. I'm a huge ube fan, and when I make ube desserts at home, I usually add extra flavoring to really make it stand out. Overall, I'd come back again. Next time, I definitely want to try the flan!

Maybe I could have asked but what made it challenging was that the menu did not clearly show everything they had to offer or it was hard to decipher which price went with what item. The cooler was pretty good and it was part of their $3 drink specials. Keep in mind though, it was not advertised, I just happened to know because I almost did an online order and saw it. We parked and noticed nearly all the lights were off. The pastry cabinet was empty, the tables were taped off. But people were inside and customers were in line. Emotions and energy were low, it was quiet and dim vibes all around. We walk in and see just one man working the cashier and making the drinks. He looked puzzled, a bit lost. We get in line behind someone ordering 4+ drinks and see that this guy didn't really know how to make the drinks. He was misplacing the ingredients and wasn't fully confident operating the payment system. The back counter was cluttered with miscellaneous gadgets, appliances, and syrups. It took nearly 20 minutes for the customer in front of us to get from ordering to receiving their drinks and we just watched in slight awe. The guy was apologetic and upfront, he was trying his best in a bad situation. They made some small talk and hinted that they were closing due to supply chain disruptions in Hawaii. I feel for them and wish them well. The coffee itself was ok. Flavor was decent but somewhat unremarkable. They offer different caffeine levels, up to I think 400mg in a drink. I just got the 200mg coffee. Don't know if I just built a tolerance but I fell asleep right after. We did want a pastry but with the baked goods cabinet empty, we weren't sure what they had left to offer. There was a long sign listing everything sold out between the pastries and coffee flavors. Overall the experience was odd and left a slightly bitter emotional taste in my mouth. They've acknowledged that they weren't in the best condition at that point and I do feel unfair to judge them at their worst. If they turn it around, I'm opening to revisiting. But for now, I don't feel compelled to go out of my way for it.
