I was scarred by this place, yes, the hair is gone, but Michelle used a strength that not only left me bruised and with scabs, it enlarged the pores and left me scarred, I had this done 2 months ago and I am still scarred. I have been to another electrologist who confirmed that this strength was way too high and the needles too large for my pores, that's why I have permanent scarring and enlarged pores. She is also twice the price of other places. I do not recommend this place, it is overpriced, you're paying for the rent and the fancy interior. It is LUCY PETERS but not advertised as such. Mrs. Ken & Maya are simply the best. Three years ago, I began going to Mrs. Ken for a Brazilian…read morebased on the advice of a friend who had been working with Mrs. Ken for seven years. From day one, I have not been disappointed. I can understand why women drive from NYC and DC to see Mrs. Ken for their waxing needs. She gives the best waxing services in the mid-Atlantic. Mrs. Ken is detail-oriented, focused, professional, and extremely hygienic. And while her waxes are not painless, there is much less pain than any other professional I've been to in my life (I started getting waxed when I was 14, I'm 43 now). While working with Mrs. Ken she began to gently encourage me to try Maya for my manicures and pedicures. I resisted for a time and then finally gave in. From the first time Maya did my nails, I knew there was no going back. Maya is exceptional at her craft and is pleasant, charming, and creative. In almost 30 years of getting manicures, my nails have never looked better. Maya knows what she is doing and she does it so well. You want someone who gives exceptional service. Look no further than Maya and Mrs. Ken.

Mrs. Ken is lovely but Maya's behavior and unprofessionalism is deplorable. I had an appointment…read morescheduled for Sunday and the place was all locked up. I called multiple times to see what was up with the phone ringing and then completely going to voicemail indicating she closed her phone. Maya did not inform Mrs. Ken of any possible circumstances that may have arisen to postpone my appointment. Moreover, I had to call Mrs. Ken to find out what was happening since Maya refused to call me back or send me a message. It was through Mrs. Ken that I found out that Maya: 1. She already spoke to me; 2. Already did my service; 3. Had confirmed all my information; and 4. Was being professional. If I had already done my service, why would I be there and waste over 30 minutes waiting for a response? It speaks volumes on Maya's professionalism that she deemed a client unworthy of the simple courtesy of corresponding with them and then lie to her employer. Emergencies happen and had I been informed I would completely understand but the fact that lying and making a client be left in the dark is incredibly disgusting behavior that is not appropriate. The upseting part is the fact that if someone can lie like that to their clients and employer, who can speak on the quality of the services offered? Perhaps I dodged a nail infection and I won't thankfully ever know. Mrs. Ken is very kind and nice. I felt bad interrupting her weekend due to this. To conduct business in the manner Maya has is unacceptable to both her and myself. It is truly unfortunate.

When I asked how to book it through ClassPass, she told me, "Don't worry about it. You don't need to book it on there since we made the appointment here." On the day of my appointment, only one hour beforehand, I received a call saying they couldn't honor it because the Washington Square location doesn't use ClassPass. Five minutes later, they called back and said they would accommodate me. I again made it very clear that I wanted to use ClassPass and was willing to go to whichever location accepted it. They specifically told me to go to Washington Square. After my service, I was then told I couldn't use ClassPass because I hadn't booked through the app--even though the same employee who performed my service was the person who originally told me I didn't need to. Their explanation was that they're "fairly new on ClassPass and still figuring it out." I paid for the service, but I won't be returning and will be reporting the experience to ClassPass.
