We just had a new system installed by Randy's Heating when our 90 year old gas furnace died…read moreunexpectedly. We were very reluctant to put a "ductless" system into our 93 year old house, desperate to maintain the look and charm - but Tyler walked us through several options that would help preserve the charm, and still keep us both warm in winter and cool in summer. He explained all of the benefits, and answered every (even silly) questions we had and made us realize it was time to "modernize" our home. To be responsible, we also had another company come out, to see what they would suggest and what they would charge. It was a no-brainer to go with Randy's. From the first visit, we felt they were the most professional, knowledgeable and patient. Tyler even came back out just to go over the details again, to answer more of our questions. They gave us options, 3 quotes to choose from, and the price was surprisingly affordable, alleviating my worst fears. (we didn't even wait to hear back from the second opinion!) The installers were completely professional, very concerned with keeping my house clean throughout the 2-day install, very nice, very informative the entire time. They went the extra mile to answer questions, and explain processes. I now have 2 Floor Mount and 2 Wall Mount "ducted ductless" mini splits keeping our entire house cozy, while all of the connections and tubes and such went under the house. We really thought we'd hate having these in our house, but we were happily wrong. They're fantastic, unobtrusive, quiet and fit right in. Even the outdoor unit that powers them all isn't a big deal at all. Nestled up to the side of the house, it's not even noticeable. This review might seem long and rambling but what I want to convey is how Professional, Caring and Outstanding all of the people at Randy's Heating are. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to recommend them to everyone I talk to. The value for my money, their professionalism, and the sense of security and comfort they have given us is immeasurable. We look forward to a hot summer, so we can be cool and comfortable inside for the first time!

Horrible Horrible Horrible. Do not use this company…read more First, furnace goes out in March 2011. Economy comes and replaces unit with brand new Carrier unit. Not even 2 years later, furnace goes out. Husband calls Economy and they say tech will be out between 2 and 2:30. At 3pm I have to call someone to pick my kids up from school because tech does not show up until 4pm. When he does diagnostic he says it is a bad gas valve. I complain saying that the unit is less than 2 years old and that they sold it to us- why is a gas valve going out so soon? And isn't the part covered? He said no, you are responsible for parts unless you bought an extended warranty in which case you have to have them come out and do yearly maintenance or the warranty is voided. I kvetch some more but agree to pay $225 for the part (on top of $90 for the diagnostic to have the tech see what is wrong). Next day husband calls the technician at 9:40 am to see what time he is going to be at our house to put the part in, because arrangements have to be made to have someone there to let tech in. Technician tells my husband that he is still sleeping, and that the shop will call my husband to schedule a time. Husband tells him we need some heads-up to get someone there to let him in. Shop never calls. Technician calls several hours later to say he is right down the block from our house and will be there in 5 minutes. Husband scrambles to get his dad over to the house to let the guy in. TURNS OUT, it is not the gas valve as the furnace does not work when the new gas valve is installed. Technician now decides it is the circuit board and has to order the part. Alas, no heat over the weekend when temps fall below 30 degrees. Sunday night, my husband calls and leaves a message with the shop to see what time technician awill be over and how much the circuit board will cost. I take the day off Monday again to be home for technician. I call Carrier and they tell me the parts are covered under standard 5 year warranty, and that Economy should know this. Meanwhile husband misses a call at work from Economy who left message saying parts are $550. I call Economy at 10am in the morning to tell them that Carrier says NO the parts are covered and they cannot charge us for parts. The service manager tells me ok yes now that she looked up my unit she sees that our parts are covered and we won't have to pay for them. However they put the parts back on the truck and sent them back because my husband didn't pick up when she called so she did not know for sure if we needed them. I was astonished. I told her I have taken a day off because the technician told us he would be here today to fix this thing. She couldn't care less and said they should be able to get the parts back probably end of the week next time the parts truck comes back. I expressed my GREAT dissatisfaction with the customer service, lack of knowledge by the technician, and knowledge of their own warranty programs. She did not seem to care basically she said what's done is done do you want the part or not? I told her I want to talk to the owner but he has not called back as yet. I am going to start from scratch with another company- I would rather lose the money I paid for diagnostic and wait another week- heck I would rather freeze to death- than pay another dollar to Economy.

What they didn't tell me was that that unit was only warranted for one year. The next year, my.system was not working, they came out and replaced a fan motor on the heat pump for $327. This year, the pump was not functioning again and they told me the compressor was dead! However, these parts were not under warranty and I was out of luck! If I had been told that this work was only covered for one year, I might have replaced the entire system and received a ten year warranty! I discussed this with the owner and he refused to replace unit at no cost. Then after much discussion, He offered to put replacement part (one year warranty again) at a reduced labor cost. How can I trust that they're would even do the installation correctly! How do I know that they didn't cause the system to fail? I asked him how many times this happened, he said none. I believe when you spend $2700, you should expect more than 1 year of functioning. I shopped around and found a new system with a ten year warranty. I was very disappointed with how I was treated and recommend that one doesn't use this business! they should have given me my options before they put in a inferior part.
