List of crepe and waffle flavours

First time at this location but have seen it in passing when visiting the area for other restaurants and entertainment. We were greeted promptly when we entered and were asked if we wanted to dine indoors or out. We were the only ones outdoors which made us worry if we would get adequate service but we were promptly served with water and came back to take our order. We ordered the Pretty in Pink Belgian waffle and a hot drink and both came out really quickly. The food and drinks were both enjoyable. The waffle was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and the scoop of ice cream was massive and so good! The dessert is definitely big enough to share with at least one other person. We walked back into the restaurant to pay and the entire process was seamless and very quick. Would definitely revisit this location for more goodies.

    Pomme pilot Belgian waffle

We arrived for dessert in the evening and were seated quickly. We placed our order for the pomme pilot waffle and got it pretty quick. The waffle was big with lots of apples, and sweet crunchy crumble. The cold vanilla ice cream complimented the warm apple of the waffles. This was tasty and I would get it again. Overall the service was quick, friendly and the waffles delicious.

    My main squeeze French crepe

A fun and cozy dessert spot with lots of food and drink options. Customer service was friendly and prompt. I ordered the main squeeze French crepe. It looked absolutely mouthwatering. The crepe was layered with fresh blueberries, drizzled with lemon curd, and topped with shortbread crumble and a generous scoop of lemon meringue ice cream. The crepe was light and airy. The lemon meringue ice cream was refreshing and just the perfect balance of sweet and tart. Overall, a fantastic spot for sweet treats!

The place was nice. It was busy when we arrived with only 2 staff. They were overwhelmed to say the least. They were kind and apologized for the long wait but we did wait a very long time. The food was delicious and looked nice when it came but I don't know if I'd go again because of the extremely long wait.

The service was extremely slow! We had to wait 30mins before we were able to order. The dessert shop wasn't too busy either and there was atleast 5 employees so this was a let down. The dessert we got was delicious though!

    Unbrulevable liege waffle

I had the banana brûlée waffle and ice cream. Service was quick and efficient, we were seated after a short wait, the server made us feel welcomed. The waffle itself was delicious, and presentation was visually appealing. Would come back again!

The service was lackluster, as we waited 30 minutes to just order. The dessert it's self was good one plate is enough for two people.

The service was not good as we had to wait 30 minutes to just order. The food itself was good very heavy one plate was enough for two people. The ambiance was nice overall a good experience could have been better if the service was better.

    Pomme Pilot on Belgian Waffle

I ordered a Pomme Pilot Belgian waffle and it tasted and looked great. The ice cream was so soft and creamy and paired great with the waffle. The service was also great. I would definitely recommend Demetres and this location in particular!

    Pretty in pink crepe

I dropped by Demetres for a fun little evening out. I opted for the "Pretty in Pink" crepe, which I've never tried before. The crepe is topped with a delicious strawberry ice cream, fresh strawberries, and a Belgian white chocolate sauce with gold waferettes. The food quality and presentation were unmatched. The portion size was VERY generous and I wasn't sure if I'd finish at first, but it was mouthwateringly delicious (i did finish it lol). The combination of flavours and textures were on another level. When it comes to the presentation, Demetres never disappoints! The plating was so incredible I'm surprised I managed to snap a picture before digging in. The staff were very polite and the service was prompt. I think I visited at a great time, as the restaurant wasn't too busy. Our waitress was super friendly and very attentive to our needs during our visit, which made the experience that much better. Altogether it made for a great weeknight treat. I'll definitely be back soon!

Location 9/10, food 8/10, ambience 6/10 This is a very convenient spot to go after a movie, since it is located next to the theatre. Food wise, they are generally pretty good. As an Asian, I think their desserts are generally very sweet. But the portion size is big and you can share a plate with 2-3 people with no issue. The service is pretty good, and the ambience is lacking. This place can get crowded and loud, and there's no booth to sit, and I didnt notice any chargers either - though I might be wrong about this. Overall, it's an affordable place that's family friendly. If you are looking for a place to chill for a long time or some sort of private ambience, this is not the place. But if you just looking for good deserts, this place is awesome.

a waffle with ice cream and chocolate

Food was fine, service was terrible, waited 45 minutes after food was done for someone to even come back to the table when I was one of two tables used. Will not be coming back

It was delicious and tasted so yummy. Great portions and great atmosphere. It wasn't too busy when we came and we were served right away

    Sweetcar Devour Belgian Waffle

If you're looking for great service, delicious desserts, and attentive servers then I would highly recommend going to Demetres Whitby. The server was super friendly and made an extra effort with our toddler. I ordered the Sweetcar Devour and the portion sizes were massive not to mention that the ice cream was amazing. The setting was perfect for our family especially since they even had a highchair for our little one.

Cork & Bean - Great coffee

My friend -- a Christian, not even Jewish -- was meeting with a pastor for coffee. He was wearing an IDF jacket and a Star of David necklace while discussing a recent trip to Israel. No shouting. No confrontation. No disruption. Just coffee and conversation. An employee called Durham Regional Police. Officers showed up and told him his conversation was "offensive." When asked what was said that violated policy, no one could answer. No rule cited. No clear complaint identified. Just vague discomfort -- and removal. So what exactly triggered this escalation? Not behavior. Not threats. Not harassment. Symbols. And Israel. Calling the police on someone because others don't like what he's wearing or the country he's discussing is cowardly and discriminatory. Businesses don't get to selectively silence viewpoints they don't agree with. And weaponizing law enforcement to remove someone over perceived "offense" is an outrageous abuse of discretion. If Cork & Bean believes visible support for Israel warrants police involvement, they should say that publicly. If they don't, then they owe an immediate explanation and apology. Until management addresses this directly and transparently, this establishment does not deserve community support. Do better.

We decided to find a cafe and casually open our presents there. We both yanked out Google Maps on our phones. She had mentioned that she had been to a Cork & Bean in Peterborough and and liked it. I trusted her judgment and said yes. I indicated that we needed to go up and hang a left. She felt that it was the other way around -- down and hang a right. When it comes to directions, she has the better track record since we've known each other. However, she realized that she had read the map wrong and I was correct. It felt like a small triumph, but I'm not the type to rub it in. I'm not horrible at directions. She is better at it. We walked over to this cafe. It may have taken three minutes. We had to wait for the light to change, so we could have done it in two minutes. This cafe had all the windows and doors wide open. We walked in and found a table to plop our stuff down. We then headed over to the counter to check out what we'd like to drink. My friend ordered an iced coffee with oat beverage. We both liked that there were dairy alternatives. She's vegan. I'd prefer to go lactose-free. I saw a sign that said that there were seasonal flavours. I asked the helpful man at the counter if it applied to iced coffee. Yes, it did. He could make any drink seasonal. Nice! I got a large iced peppermint latte with oat beverage. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and tipped. All was great. My friend got her drink first. Moments later, mine was ready. I thanked the man and headed back to our table to join my friend. There was live music at this cafe. We were here on a Saturday evening. Jordins ID (no apostrophe to indicate possession, which seemed odd) was playing. She was great. It was nice to have her in the background as we chatted. My drink was awesome. It was cold. I liked the peppermint with the coffee. It worked out nicely. A customer had brought his dog in. This cafe is obviously pet-friendly. It was nice seeing other customers ask if they could pet the dog. The owner was nice and said yes. The dog seemed to enjoy the affection and attention. We had a nice time chatting a bunch more and opening our presents. It was the perfect place for what we wanted to do. The menu also has beer, cocktails, and more. I saw a bunch of desserts in the display case. Since we had already had dessert with our dinner, we skipped getting any food. This cafe is in downtown Oshawa. It's free street parking on weekends. I enjoyed hanging out at this cafe. It's a nice place to grab a drink and chat, while taking in some local, live music. It was perfect. (341)

The restaurant is split into two main areas: high table booths and a more open space with the usual tables & chairs. I would recommend seating in the latter area because there seemed to be more light. Food-wise, the portions were generous and scrumptious! The salmon bowl was creamy, zesty, packed with crunch. The Italian sandwich was fantastic as well, with a generous layer of mayo on ciabatta covering layers of cured meats, cheese, arugula, & roasted red peppers. Of course, we couldn't leave without getting caffeinated ;) Service was friendly from the get-go, but our food did take a long time to come out due to backed up takeout orders. A minor discount was provided for the inconvenience. Despite this, we would be up to coming back for weekend brunch one day!
