The Demetres Desserts in Distillery District is a bright restaurant (sit down spot) for desserts, including ice cream sundaes, waffles/crepes and cakes. We ordered from the double scoop section of the menu - the Vincent Mango today - and enjoyed it a lot. It's a double scoop of mango, with strawberry and banana slices. It's a good shareable size for two or if you prefer just one! Service was good, although there was only one person on the floor as front of house and serving so there was a bit of wait sometimes for getting seats and getting the bill.

Waffle with banana, nutella, strawberries and vanilla ice cream!

A great place to go out for a meal or just spend time with family or friends, excellent service, attentive staff, and wheelchair accessibility. The food was also ready in a reasonable amount of time, and inside the restaurant you can have a pleasant conversation without being disturbed by noise or music. I'd say it's a place to go and treat yourself, since the prices, in my opinion, aren't very affordable for everyday consumption, but despite that, everything about this business is fine. I recommend you go if you're visiting Toronto!

Absolutely loved the ice cream selection! The mango + passion fruit sorbet was incredibly refreshing, fruity, and perfectly balanced with a tropical flavor. The cookies & cream was rich, creamy, and packed with cookie pieces. Beautiful presentation and good customer service, the staff offered to make us try flavour before ordering!

    Pomme pilot crepe

We ordered the Pomme Pilot crepe and it was delicious! Tasted just like an apple pie. The crepe was fresh and the apples were sweet and flavourful. The vanilla ice cream was the perfect pairing. The service was excellent. We were seated and had our order taken immediately. Definitely one of our favourite demetres location.

Nuts About You delivered exceptional food quality with rich, creamy ice cream perfectly balanced by crunchy candied pecans and soft blondie pieces. The presentation was beautiful and layered thoughtfully in a glass dish. Customer service was warm, friendly, and attentive, making the entire dessert experience feel welcoming and memorable from start to finish.

I tried the Pechanchu on an egg-free Belgian waffle from Demetres. The waffle was great! It was soft and warm. It was covered with a generous layer of baked apples and a large scoop of ice cream. The dessert looked wonderful, tasted amazing, and it was a good serving size. The customer service was very good. The server was helpful when selecting menu options and attentive.

I ordered the Hotel Sweet cake with fruits, which is a chocolate cake with cherries and vanilla cream. The cherries were delicious, sweet, and slightly sour. They definitely were the highlight of the cake. The cake itself was dense and indulgent, and certainly looked amazing and instagram worthy. Service was excellent, with my server happily answering questions I had about the menu.

    Matcha Me Freak

Visited Demetres w my daughter for a quick late night dessert fix and it was great. Staff was pleasant and kind however they didn't come and check on us after we were served. We ordered the Match My Freak and it was delicious. The quality of ice cream used tasted of high quality and we enjoyed the fresh strawberries. I'm not usually a sweet girl but it gave me my match and the strawberry for my daughter so it worked out perfectly! The presentation of the item was beautiful and quite larger than I expected! We actually couldn't even finish it between the 2 of us. Will definitely come again and order this again!

We had the Tonge Depressor chocolate ice cream on a Belgian waffle. The ice cream was so decadent - there were large chunks of oreo cookie in it! Delicious and a nice added crunch. The waffle came nice and warm, with warm chocolate syrup and white chocolate chips lightly melting. There were small squares of fudge brownie as well, which were yummy but found it a bit too decadent! I think my favourite part of the dish was the light fluffy fresh waffle. It came beautifully presented, with a nice round scoop of ice cream in the middle of the waffle, and the toppings spread nicely around the whole thing. The server was very patient with our 4 year old and brought his ice cream first so he could get started. They came promptly to clear our plates as well, which was appreciated with a child who kept tring to grab the remnants off the plates!

Honestly, pretty disappointed with my experience here at demetres. Had a variety on their menu, but none of the options were very great. The food quality seems OK but I feel like the strawberries we got were very frozen and old. The customer service was good. She was very friendly, but they are very understaffed so it took about 20 minutes to get our order in in 20 minutes to get our order and then she forgot to give us to go cutlery. I was really sad. Honestly, unfortunately, wouldn't recommend going here as there are better ice cream and dessert options also in the city

Moo Laa Laa with Liege waffle. Hazelnut, Nutella, Banana.

Came here today to try the ice cream waffles. We decided on the Moo Laa Laa with liege waffles. Loved the chewy texture of the waffles with the crunchy hazelnut bits. Serving size was quite big and decadent, so perfect for sharing with friends. We were seated immediately and server was friendly.

    Sundae

I ordered a two scoop sundae with dulce leche and Roche ice cream. The presentation was good but generally found the sundae too sweet. It'd be easier to eat if they put it in a wider bowl with the two scoops beside each other vs. on top of each other. The ice cream itself was good but the Roche was almost melted on the bottom. Otherwise, the restaurant was very spacious, quiet and the waitress was friendly.

So the bear itself in the affogato was a solid icy chunk of milk (coz we chose the milk flavour) that just frozen. We added the affogato on top of it and while it looked aesthetic, the dessert didn't make sense at all. We were unable to break the frozen chunk or be able to mix it with the coffee and the coffee mixed with that frozen chunk submerged tasted really bad. Paying $16 for that wasn't worth it at all. The bingsu was good though. We got the mango bingsu bowl and it came loaded with mangoes and a marshmallow and an oreo cookie to make it look pretty! I don't think I'd come back to try anything else here. Was a little disappointed.

I requested to be lighter on the chocolate but there was still a LOT of chocolate on our waffle. The mango smoothie was refreshing and sweet. I started going to Holy Choco when they first opened and their service was really good from some of the owner. Super attentive and caring staff. Unfortunately, it's since gone downhill since they've hired new staff and we had a number of small problems when visiting this time (dirty tables, dirty cutlery, requested if our food could be put in to go containers because they didn't want to do dishes, unfriendly, etc.) I hope they improve upon these staffing issues soon. Their seating area is good for friends and groups to loiter. Also, if you plan on bringing a laptop, they have MANY OUTLETS!!

The interior is nicely decorated with a cute angel photo op in the back, and window bar seats and couches to choose from. Great spot for 2-4 people. The only criticism I could have was it took a while to get our order. So, it's not one of those places you can be dipping into expecting to be done in 20mins! We stayed for nearly 3 hours and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

I got the Avalanche (Skor,Cheesecake, and Caramel) and I loved that they stretched the dough when we ordered and then start frying it right there. It really ensures that we get freshly fried Beaver Tails at the peak of their deliciousness. After I got mine slathered with the toppings I ordered, I dug in and as expected, it's really hot but SOOOOO good. It's like the concept of a donut only thinner and crispier, thus resulting in a much better texture and crunch throughout which I very much prefer over a donut actually. The cheesecake spread mingling with the sweet caramel, crunchy toffee bits, and crispy hot dough is just such a perfect combination. It's a bit of a mess to eat but sooooo worth it. It really is such a shame that there isn't an establishment like this in NYC because it could seriously do some REALLY good numbers over here I reckon. I HAVE to get this again when I come back up to Canada (unless ya'll want to build a place down across the border haha).

When I saw the price was $9.90 per chocolate, I was honestly a little surprised, bc it's sold under 7 per chocolate in Korea. But they were running a promotion until the 15th -- 5 for $30 -- which made it much more reasonable. I've never had the original version sold in Korea, so I can't compare it directly, but from what I've seen and heard, it seems pretty similar to what's trending there. Korean reviews are overwhelmingly positive, and people say it tastes just like the viral version. The texture is definitely chewy, just like the name suggests, and it's very sweet. Personally, it was a bit too sweet for my taste, but that's just my preference. That being said, I gave some as gifts and they absolutely loved it. So if you enjoy rich, sweet desserts -- or you're looking for something trendy and fun to share -- this would be a great choice. The shop itself is small and cozy, but very welcoming. The staff were friendly and made the experience pleasant. Overall, even though it's not exactly my personal favorite flavor-wise, I can understand the hype. It's a fun treat to try at least once, especially if you've been curious about the viral Korean Dubai chocolate trend. I'd recommend stopping by and taking advantage of the promo while it lasts!
