Made a first time purchase for a Wine tasting party. Chocolates were a hit! Great gift items!!

If you've never has the pleasure of attending one of Delysia's chocolate tasting classes NOW is a great time. The fabulous Nicole Patel, master chocolatier (deservedly named as one of the top ten chocolatiers in the Americas), and staff create the most amazing treats using only the finest German chocolate and sustainable (e.g., holiday themed flavors, savory chocolates, wine pairings, etc.). During the Covid-19 pandemic, Delysia Chocolatier employed a little creativity and began offering virtual chocolate classes and tastings (delivered across the U.S.; local ATX can also pick up if they choose) in addition to their many other fine products. The classes and tastings have really been something [much needed!] to look forward to and change the mundane. I think I have experienced almost a dozen classes. Yes, they are that fun and yum! I've learned a lot about chocolate and the processes that DC's team goes through to handcraft EACH truffle. I'm not exaggerating one bit. Each perfect little square has a surprise in it (e.g., bit of dried fruit, a nut, even ham!) and EACH bit is placed inside each chocolate before capping. Great place to come on a date or with friends for a different experience. They offer chocolate tasting on certain days of the week. Nicole, the owner gave us a brief rundown of the history of her company as well as her process and ideas that make Delysia so unique. Her and her staff were very welcoming. I love the twist of flavors she has on chocolate. This weekend in particular we sampled the "ruby" chocolate truffles. Delysia chocolates are perfect gifts and wonderful treats. read more

Ultimately very disappointing. Perhaps their more interesting flavors are better but I've had better $1 truffles. Coming in at around $6 a truffle, I was expecting something spectacular. Literally the worst chocolate ever tasted. The kind that tries to look good from outside, but tasteless inside.

Delysia's owner and chef, Nicole Patel, is creating award wining chocolate in this small non-descript warehouse space. The chocolates are handmade in the Parisian style onsite and are preservative-free. Delysia uses local ingredients when possible and have some interesting collaborations like East Austin Cider Pineapple truffles. There are an abundant selection of flavor options to choose from. It can be a bit overwhelming. You can build your own box of flavors, or pick a pre-packaged option. The staff here are friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that some of the flavors are weak. I would like to see them carry more of a punch. But then others, are perfectly balanced. The best day to come is Saturday. They have free chocolate tastings on Saturday. You can select three chocolate options from the flavors of that day. Just walk into the shop and head back to the kitchen. This is where the tasting and shopping happens. I had tasted Delysia before at the Texas Women's Conference, and was excited to finally visit her shop. Delysia is a reminder to all of us of what is possible when you stop, and take a moment to follow your talent and passion. Nicole was an engineer who worked to create chocolate for family and friends on the weekend. She took that scary jump off the "risk" cliff to turn her weekend, into her work week. I am glad she did, as I can now enjoy European style truffles in ATX. Bonus, her shop is located next to Bent Oak Winery. I went here last weekend after a wine tasting next door at Bent Oak Winery. I had seen the great Yelp reviews and also heard good things from the winery staff, so I figured why not. This is gourmet chocolate. Very inventive flavor combinations with various local flavor nods (like Salt Lick BBQ sauce). Free tasting on the weekend with a nice varied menu you can select 3 choices from. You taste in the kitchen where the chocolate is made. Nice truffles and barks. If you are in the area, this and the winery next door are a perfect pairing worth a visit! read more

I am not a huge fan of chocolate, but when I saw Delysia Chocolatier sells a box of Asian inspired truffles I could not resist. I poured a glass of a spicy red wine, and for the next 30 minutes slipped into a bliss. The Asian inspired chocolates were so beautiful I almost didn't want to eat them. The coconut truffles are adorned with pink cherry blossoms and had just enough coconut that it did not over power the chocolate. The wasabi lacked spice but very rich. The five spice is by far my favorite with hints of cinnamon, nutmeg and tons of other flavors sending my taste buds in a tizzy. read more

We participated in a virtual chocolate tasting and it was amazing. You are walked through a tasting box of nine truffles...a nice mix of white, milk, and dark chocolates with very modern flavors (i.e. mango habanero which was one of my favorites). Although I don't like white chocolate, the white peach balsamic truffle was incredible. Each one was more delicious than the last...and a ruby chocolate truffle was included as well. That was my first time trying ruby chocolate...very interesting and different. I immediately placed an order...can't wait to receive it and enjoy this experience again! read more

We came here tonight as a ladies meetup group. I could not have been more disappointed. I was expecting melt in your mouth, fresh decadent chocolate truffles. What we got was old , hard, overpriced chocolate with fancy flavors. I get that they locally source there ingredients, but I was hoping for a soft- centered melt in your mouth piece of chocolate. That's not what I got. Their chocolate is overpriced for how it tastes. Honestly, Dove or Lindts are so much better. Also, it would have been nice if they had coffee or wine to go with the chocolate. read more

This place is lovely and the chocolate is amazing. I was pleasantly surprised by the experience as the storefront is located in an industrial complex. It doesn't matter though because once you walk in you are transported to a lovely shop. The chocolatier was there and she was kind and lovely. What a gem of a business. Lots of extremely positive reviews here. The tasting is interesting, the product is excellent. However, at $2 per chocolate, $24 a box and $8 per small slab of bark, this product is either intended as a generous gift for someone or an occasional treat for a very rainy day. The chocolates are available at Central Market as well, but we will nurture our chocolate tooth with less expensive treats. read more

Delysia may get good reviews in their store but do not order online. I received a father's day gift and was very disappointed my son spent this kind of money for a product that was thrown in the trash. Product arrived somewhat melted and looked old and stale. My wife actually threw the chocolates away without tasting them sense they looked so bad. Do not recommend purchasing Delysia products as gifts to be sent to anyone. Nicole Patel is an engineer by trade which I believe gives her an advantage in chocolate creativity. The flavors and essences she has combined for her candy collections are unique and luscious. For example, the "Gentlemen's Collection" includes Scotch, Dark Chocolate and Cigar and her tasty "Winter Collection" consists of Mint Chocolate, Gingerbread and Eggnog. I sampled several of her lovely truffle flavors and her peppermint bark at The Christmas Affair last week. Creamy and delicious chocolate rolled across my tongue and the dark peppermint bark had a sweet infusion of fresh mint along with a dusting of tiny peppermint bits. Nicole has also created a velvety "Cayenne Hot Chocolate" that made me sweat and smile at the same time. Like a happy hot flash. Recently, she was awarded a contract from the "W" Hotel to create special gift boxes and pillow chocolates. Delysia chocolates are to be savored and enjoyed like a new lover. An upscale chocolatier in the most unlikely location, in a warehouse-like area in Cedar Park. Once inside, you are transported to brightly lit, modern, downtown-like space. But it's not about the space, it's all about the chocolates. The chocolates are elegant, smooth and melt in your mouth. The seasonal/holiday themed chocolates make great gifts. Most recently, I attended one of the events hosted by Delysia. We met Nicole and her crew. They were very friendly and speaking with her, you can tell she is very passionate about her craft. I've had the opportunity to sample many pieces of Delysia Chocolatier chocolates and am always blown away by the whimsy, balance, and beauty that these truffles offer. I am not a fan of most chocolate, but I'm a huge fan of these truffles! Rich, creamy, intense, high quality chocolate. Well balanced truffle flavors that range from soothing and pleasant to palate awakening. I'm not usually a fan of spicier truffles, but some of the spicy ones offered are her best. Often not a fan of white chocolate either, but I've fallen in love with a few of hers. Noticing a trend? That's because Delysia redefined what I thought of as truffles, they are modern, contrasting, and wholly satisfying. The ones that are truly great hit such a high note, that only in comparison do my least favorites not shine as brightly. The whimsical ones seem to be my favorite, like birthday, or my all time favorite, a specialty showcase revolving around The Wizard of OZ. Nicole Patel, the owner of Delysia makes some of the most amazing chocolate truffles on the planet. She is an engineer by trade and started Delysia as a side-gig while working full time at a big company here in Austin. She has created all of the truffle recipes herself and she can do really beautiful designs and packaging for special events. Several flavors of her truffles won prizes (including one that won first prize) at the Texas State Chocolate Festival. She makes several flavors of truffles using Becker Vineyard Wines - in fact she is the only chocolatier in Texas who makes chocolates made with Texas wines. For Mother's Day, I wanted to find somewhere local that offered a high-quality product which led me to Delysia. The store has a really cool ambiance and I was pleasantly surprised that it is located on the border of Cedar Park. The main take away if you read this review is that the chocolate is fantastic. Tasty treats all handmade and with local ingredients. We visited as a stop on our weekend in town and found the staff friendly and knowledgeable. These chocolates are amazing! There are so many different flavors and designs and options for every price point; a bark (basically a thicker chocolate bar) is only like $7 vs a themed gift basket is like $150, and the truffles (9 to a box for about $24) are exceptional. These are all beautifully made, and the inside of he store is beautiful also. The staff when I went around Valentine's Day seemed really preoccupied and didn't talk to me, but one girl, a high schooler maybe, helped me pick out my chocolates. I went during a time that was advertised as a tasting time, but wasn't offered anything to taste, but that's fine. The location of this store is a little strange, but I promise if you think you're lost you're probably not. It's right off Anderson Mill in the area that looks like a construction warehouse. I see a lot of people saying this place is expensive, but it's rightfully so, and I wouldn't respect it if it wasn't. read more

They're pretty tasty, but that still comes up rather short when they're so expensive. We ordered the Delysia Salted Collection and dark chocolate squares for our store and have been overwhelmed at the response. From a personal stance, the chocolates are absolutely decadent. The salted caramel, peanut butter, and dark chocolate truffles melt in your mouth, and the dark chocolate squares are just the right ratio of cocoa to appeal to dark-chocolate and milk-chocolate lovers alike. From a professional stance, they have been incredibly successful at our store. The art on each came out beautifully, with screened logos on the truffles and a carving on the large blocks. We originally intended for them to be gift-with-purchase items but have yet to use them as such since they have been so popular sold alone. I would recommend these to anyone to looking to promote their business in a fun, unique way, or to anyone who just appreciates great chocolate! read more

You wonder if something so beautiful can taste so good......and guess what it does!! Nicole has a true art in the designs and presentation of her truffles.
