I was leary about going in after speaking with whoever answered the phone. I felt like they were mad at me for asking a simple question about booking. Pedicure wasn't that good. It is very clean and feels luxurious, however it is a distraction from the lack of quality in their service. I've had full set nails on and off throughout my life since high school, dip/gel/acrylic/etc. I take into account my nail health and physical lifestyle in the results of my experience, but I am thoroughly unimpressed and quite disappointed. First of all, while I did cat eye (which I've had before) my jaw nearly dropped to hear the total before tip was $100 for full set and solid cat eye color. Usually with tip ($10-15) I'll pay $100, but it was astounding to me. The quality of the nail, it has only been 6 days and three of my nails have broken in half/fallen off. Also you can barely see the "cat eye" effect with these nails. Clearly not well trained on how to use the magnetization technique of the polish. Additionally, I chose a purple color. My nails came out a flesh color pink. It's been my third time at this salon, and it really will be my last. I tried and gave many opportunities but I am always disappointed. read more

This was my second terrible experience at this salon--both times with Tina. And both times, the price changed mid-service without warning. First visit: I asked for a gel manicure. Tina cut my nails down to stubs and started applying artificial nails--something I never requested. I was told it would now be $70 as opposed to $35. Second visit: I asked for a gel fill. I was told they'd need to "take some off." No mention of a price change. I sat down, Tina began removing polish, and then she announced the price had jumped from $50 to $60. I immediately said that wasn't what was agreed to. The manager came over and repeated that I'd been told "some would come off"--but again, no mention of a price increase. I kept asking: is the price $50 or $60? No clear answer. Just deflection. What should've been a relaxing appointment turned into a stressful mess. I asked to pay for what had been done so far and leave. The manager kept "explaining" instead of answering. When I asked again if the price was $50 or $60, she told me I wasn't listening. When I started going I didn't always make appointments and sometimes the service wasn't five stars (tech assigned to me had skills that were just ok, sometimes I had to sit awhile to wait, etc.). A lot has changed in a year! Last year, the staff was friendly and the pedicure was delightful. Not so a year later! I soaked for 15 minutes by myself while my daughter was attended to and yet we finished at the same time. What does that tell you? Jason, who took care of me was nothing short of abusive! He came over, never said hello, never asked me what I wanted. Never ever looked my way. He slapped me, jabbed me , and I promised you I didn't get the six minute massage. His behavior was angry (why?) and my daughter said she felt like hers was doing her a favor! My daughter had the same shoddy pedicure but remember, at least hers was twice as long as mine. I was visiting from out of town and brought my own dazzle dry nail polish. they charge $10 extra for dazzle dry at the salon which I understand because it is a more expensive polish, however the process is exactly the same as regular nail polish yet they insisted it was their "policy" and they would have to charge me $10 for using my own nail polish. the woman who communicated this was extremely rude. good customer service goes a long way - I have been to many other nail salons including the one ai regularly go to where they don't charge extra when i bring my own. Disappointed that I couldn't be upsold, deluxe delivered an average pedicure a little on the rough side, though without much attention to the lateral nail folds and nail corners. Salon is spacious and looks nice inside. They push Spa Pedicures, but mostly concentrate on scrubbing legs and applying lotion. Some oil on heels. No cuticle trimming. The tech clipped my toenails crooked and hurt my foot while massaging. While at the dry station, noticed he had applied only one coat of nail polish and missed coating some of the nails. No topcoat either. I alerted the receptionist who called over the owner. Owner blamed the fact that I brought my own nail polish! She said use our polish next time! She painted the 2nd coat. Honestly- they do a good mani/pedi. But they aren't clear on communication of prices and when you confront it and ask them to honor what they said they say "well if you google all the other salons that's what they charge". The communication is bad. I went in with my little girl and asked how much extra for gel. They said "$15 or $20". I said ok. Turns out...$20 for mani and $20 for pedi. That's ridiculous. An extra $60 for gel. So for me and my daughter it was an extra $80 just for gel. I was ok with the up charge but to charge me double what I thought was not ok. They just stared at me and I said ok whatever. What was I supposed to do. I did not leave a tip. I felt bad but I also felt like the owner took the tip from the techs. I have never left without tipping but this time I was over being nickel and dimed and not being communicated to me clearly. If I ask, how much extra for gel on a mani pedi and they said 15/20....that means for the whole thing not hands and feet each. It's sad because I like the salon and it's pretty clean. I like that they show you the time when they massage and they don't count the massage when they rub in the scrub...it's an actual massage. But when people ask how much they need to be very clear. I would have not done the gel for my daughter had I known. Bummed. Just so everyone knows. A fell mani pedi for me and my 6 year old (I did the second selection of pedi) cost $200 and some change. They always insist on really over filing my nails. Even when I don't ask for drilling and for a gentle touch. I end up leaving with nails that look great but my cuticles sting for days and my nails are destroyed long term. Maybe if you have super strong nails. read more

I love Lily the owner, she's a sweetheart and such a hard worker. Her work is incredible and very clean. However the new desk girl has ruined the whole salon. She is rude and laughs in your face. I've been a few times over the last year, and they usually do good work, but not the quality that justifies the steep prices. I also don't like that they suggest add-ons without clarifying that things cost extra. This happened to me twice for two very different services. For example, I once booked the basic pedicure for $50.00. I don't get my toes done very often, so this was a treat. When I checked in for my appointment, the woman asked "do you want gel polish?" I said "sure!" And she pointed me to the gel polishes. When I went to pay, it was $70. She told me that getting gel polish costs an extra TWENTY dollars. Like, what??? $20 for a different polish? That blew my mind. So I won't be getting pedicures done here anymore because I don't like to be blindsided with crazy prices. read more

I came here because it came highly recommended but did not meet the expectations at all. I got a simple powder gel manicure and it was extremely overpriced, and staff was rude. My nails chipped not even 24 hours after getting them done because the quality of the manicure was just awful. It has been just over a week since coming and all my nails are bare whereas at my normal salon I can go 4 weeks without a chip. I had went to Deluxe for the first time yesterday for a dip manicure. Although this was my first time at this particular salon (I am a college student from out of state), I am not new to nail salons and the typical price ranges of nail services. I wanted a light pink dip manicure with little red hearts on each nail. I showed the lady a picture of what I wanted, I sit down in the chair and all is going well. As she is getting ready to start the dip process, she tries pushing the liquid gel manicure on me because she says the color is beautiful, and proceeds to say it is $75. I say no, I would like the dip. Once again, I'm a college student and don't want to spend $75 on my nails that I know are going to get roughed up anyways and that are also Valentine's day theme so I won't be having them for too long. She says there are no dip options that are similar to the one I want. I wanted a light blush pink. I saw at least 5 different light pink dip options on the shelf right in front of me against the wall where all of the containers are sitting. I asked for a basic light pink color, nothing unique. She did end up finding a light pink dip that ended up looking great, but I didn't appreciate being pressured into picking a more expensive manicure type and then be lied to and told that they don't have light pink dip options! I almost felt underestimated because I am not only a young female college student but because this was my first time coming to this salon. As I mentioned earlier, I have been getting my nails done for years now so I've gained some knowledge on prices and time ranges for manicures. This manicure I received was somehow both the quickest and the most expensive i've ever received. I understand designs are extra cost, but the pricing just seemed off to me in the end. There is also a little note on the check out counter saying "cash only tip." Not everyone carries cash on them and there should be an option to tip on the card. It should be made to tip conveniently as many people don't always carry cash on them. My manicure came out great! The process, however, not so much. read more

I am a local URI student and was looking for a place to get my acrylic nails soaked off. After doing some research online and asking around for recommendations, a few of my friends and Google pointed me to Deluxe so I made an appointment to have my acrylics SOAKED OFF. Upon arriving, I checked in for my appointment but there was some confusion about the service I booked. The desk clerk asked me if I was here for my manicure... and I had to explain yet again that I just wanted my acrylic nails soaked off and removed, no manicure. I was a little surprised because at salons that specialize in acrylic and powder services, a removal service is typical and customary. After sitting down, my nail technician proceeded to perform the service as I am used to, cutting down the excess acrylic that has grown out and using the electric file to file off the gel polish layer and top layer of acrylic powder. However, what came next I have never seen in my 5 years of consistently getting my acrylic nails done. The nail technician brought out a metal, sharp tool (which is meant for cuticle work) and proceeded to pry the acrylic powder off of my nails. In the midst of SO MUCH PAIN, I asked if they were going to soak the powder off and received a response that "no, the acetone will not soak off the acrylic so this is the only way". When the technician realized that the powder was too thick on some nails to remove via prying with a sharp metal tool (while also prying off layers of my natural nails) the technician proceeded to whip out a random credit card and start sliding the credit card under the powder to remove the acrylic. I have never been in so much pain, and my nails are left DESTROYED, and STILL HAVE POWDER on them. So now I have to go to another salon to remove the remaining powder, or spend more money to get the acetone and do it myself. I AM APPALLED. My nails are also now in no condition to be re-done because of how raw and damaged they are, as putting on a new set would risk any chance of infection or fungus growth under new powder. The price for this service was also appalling, but because I work in the service industry, I decided to be the bigger person and pay for my service and leave, but I will NEVER be back. read more
