Well this was really disappointing. I have been here twice. Most recently under the new management. First time was fine. I saw Paige who did a nice job on my color. I went to rebook last week and had accidentally made an appt for the following day. This was at 8pm at night. I called first thing in the morning and revived a call back when they opened. I was told no problem, I had my correct appointment for the first week of December confirmed. Imagine my shock when the next day I had a charge on my credit card. The "manager" was very rude. Told me it's 50% charge no matter what. Well that wasn't expressed when I called and explained what had happened the day prior. Was told the owner would contact me. No phone call whatsoever. Such poor business practice. :( So, I picked up the phone and started calling around to other places. When I reached spa mosaic, they asked me when I wanted to be seen. I answered "ASAP". I was put on a short hold and then asked "can you be here in 25 minutes?" Um, YES! Never in my thoughts did I think somewhere would fit me in same day. They saved me from the disappointment of my Friday massage being canceled and I ended up having a wonder treatment by Felicia. I'm booked again! Also, I felt very safe. An absolute great experience from start to finish! I had a haircut done by Melanie a couple years ago, and returned because of the care and passion she puts into her work. Went in for a keratin treatment but was recommended a Brazilian blowout instead, which was more fitting for my type of hair, and I'm glad I took the advice. Melanie was extremely knowledgeable and such a pleasure. She definitely made the (3 hour) process a tremendously enjoyable experience. She was very sincere and gave very useful tips and tricks, which I definitely plan on implementing into my hair care routine. They require a credit card to make an appointment and then charge you 50% if you cancel your appointment less than 24 hours even if the cancellation is due to extenuating circumstances. If you try to reach the owner to discuss the issue, she will ignore your inquiries and will not respond to your phone message or your email. Spa Mosaic is a great salon/spa. I have only had my nails done, but am excited to try other services. I just had Isabelle- she was great. I like a little nail art, but didn't think it was possible for shellac polish. I asked if I could have a different color polish, one with some glitter, on my ring finger. Isabelle topped that by getting some actual glitter and adding it to my nail. She went out of her way to do this and it was greatly appreciated. Spa Mosaic is an Aveda products spa in South County Commons. The ambiance is nice, and the staff was really friendly. I was able to walk in and get a pedicure. The pedicure was really relaxing, and I left smelling like Aveda lotions which was a plus. Unfortunately the pedicure didn't last very long-? one week. I had a massage appointment with Randi Lancellotti this past week and loved it. Randi (Esthetician) was professional, kind and amazing at what she did! I have had a few massages at Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa- all of them were good, but I didn't know terrific service until I came to Spa Mosaic. I had the Caribbean Massage, which was phenomenal. From start to finish my experience was amazing. I loved my spa service so much I decided to schedule a much needed hair (cut/color) with anybody available. I was scheduled with Sara Lewis, and from the beginning I loved her. She had cute style and great hair! I myself work at a salon where I am from ( I am an out of state student attending URI) so I am more picky than most customers, but Sara gave me a wonderful consultation and formulated a perfect color. I articulated that I wanted permanent on my roots, and demi on the ends, and she formulated 2 colors to accommodate my request, then gave me one of the best hair cuts I have ever had. Through the whole service she let me know what she was using product wise which was awesome as well! She's very talented and I would thoroughly recommend her! Totally friendly staff. I had a bikini wax with Randi L. The room was peaceful -- dim lighting, nature sounds. She was friendly and made me feel entirely comfortable (provided disposable panties) . AWFUL! Worst experience of my life. I came out of there feeling and looking worse than when i walked in. It took over 4 hours and returning a second time to do my hair and my hairdresser didnt even finish it! It wasn't the color I asked for the cut was not finished. They charged an insane amount for something i didn't even want. When i asked for even a partial refund the owner would not even consider it. I had to go some place else to get it fixed and finished. Me and my maid of honor came here for pedicures and a manicure for myself before my rehearsal dinner/wedding this past Friday. Loved the place itself. Beautiful and comfortable. My sister's experience was great but mine was only okay. My nail tech was Lori, and she was less than desireable with her snide remarks. She commented on my casual choice for a rehearsal dinner (Mew's Tavern which was amazing) as well as my choice of nail color. I am not a bright color person and like simple natural tones. When I was getting my nails done she asked what my bridesmaids were wearing and after i told her she said, "What are you wearing, jeans?". I politely told her I had a gown and that believe it or not I clean up pretty well. I will admit I don't paint my nails regularly, but to hear "I know you don't care about your nails, but don't chip away at them" when she told me about removing the shellac was a little annoying. Like I said- loved the place as probably would come back if I'm in the area and needed services but I would request someone else. read more

Will never return! I m new to Rhode Island and spent over $200 to have my hair done here only to have my coat stolen! My hair and color was just fair - not exceptional or what I expected for what I paid. I m used to salons in NYC such as Bumble & Bumble or Warren Tricomi - which offer great service. I left my favorite coat there and called within 10 minutes to say I left it. They said they had my coat and that I could pick it up that afternoon. Upon my arrival, my coat was gone with the only explanation given was that it was stolen! The front desk people were extremely rude and exhibited no signs of caring. My stylist could have cared less as well. The manager was the same and offered no apologies for someone stealing my property after it was in their possession. I will not be returning and watch out!!! These people are shady, cannot be trusted, and lack any fundamental understanding of customer service. read more

I have my hair done every two weeks with Amber. She is awesome! Always analyzing the color and texture of my hair to be sure it looks great. Will adjust the color, the product, etc. Although I love the smell of Aveda products, finding other products that work better for my hair. Reception staff are super friendly.
