From the layout, which is rather cramped so you can see masseuses kneading someone else's back next to you, to the paper towels they put on my eyes in lieu of an eyemask, to the actual massage itself. All could be much better. My recommendation, spend a tad extra and go elsewhere. If you're desperate for a massage and can't find a last minute reservation anywhere else like us, this ain't terrible. Soleful touch is in a prime location where all the action is. As far as parking be ready to pay if you find a spot. Overall I was able to book a same day appointment which was a huge plus. They would soak your feet in hot water first while doing your head massage so be prepared to wear bottoms that can be pulled out to your knees. They also include hot stones on your foot massage. Only reason for the 1 star is because my husband thought his massage was good. As for me, it had to have been the worst massage I'd ever gotten. The massage initially started with a woman and quickly changed to a man. I'm assuming because they had customers who were scheduled for certain massage therapist? Regardless, I was more tense coming out of the salon than I was going in. There was no ask about pressure, at least a couple of the therapists couldn't speak English so it was difficult to communicate, and worst of all, I ended up with three bed bug bites on my leg!!! I highly DONT recommend this place. My husband and I went in for a 60 mins couples massage and as soon as we arrived they rushed us into a room with no walls only thin curtains. We could hear everything that was going on in the other rooms. They told us to strip but they stood there and watched as we did it. The massage itself was okay but far from relaxing. After they finished, they asked if we wanted 30 more mins and we said sure. It ended up costing $100 each for the 90 mins- not bad but then they REALLY pushed for a tip. We left them $10 but while they were checking us out they had already called the owner and they made us talk to her so that she could convince us to give a bigger tip. We said no and after much more pushing on her part, she gave up. It's sad because we love Newport and all it has to offer but we won't be going back to this establishment. read more

This is a gem of a find in Newport. It's right on Long Wharf, next to the Newport Harbor. Your feet, legs, torso, back, and neck are massaged, and each pressure point is given attention. This type of massage is relaxing, and it's healthy for your immune system. I felt so good after this massage that I am going back in three days for another reflexology treatment. My whole body felt so good after today's treatment. Free parking is available on the street on Long Wharf off-season, but that doesn't start until November 1st. I discovered today that if you make your first left into the small marina and wind around that parking lot, there are several reserved spaces for Soleful Touch. This made today's visit even better. Being an athletic guy, balancing budget with quality can often lead to disappointment when it comes to massages. This place knocked it out of the park, though! Prices like this ($70 for my treatment, plus $20 well-earned tip) in Newport? Uh yeah, I'll be back. Enough on prices... the massage itself: I got 60min with the oil/hot stone included. My provider's name was Jessica; and though she was on the small side and on the 50+ side, she had the strength, stamina, and technique to sustain 60 full minutes of effective treatment. So many providers get tired when dealing with clients who ask for "hard" pressure, but not Jessica! It was a standard flow for the service requested, but barely any of my 60min was filler time (eg lazy sweeps not doing anything for anyone), and she kept constant contact except for when she went to fetch those lovely HOT STONES. This was a massage that sent me straight home to my fridge to drink a quart of water to help flush my system out after she broke down my muscles so effectively. I will say it would've been nice to get a drink of water onsite, but perhaps with COVID they've suspended that practice for now. Not a big deal. The scene... semi-private separated from other clientele by curtains. There were at least two other people getting treated at the same time as me, but there was no noticeable noise, and I was focused on relaxing to let Jessica do her work on me. Good enough for me. As a person who works on their feet all day, I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to give their feet a little pampering. The owner, Mary, is very friendly and very welcoming. Staff makes you feel comfortable as soon as you walk through the door. Massages are done in a semi-private room separated by a set of screens pulled to divide the room in half. The setting is not overly luxurious, but clean and comfortable. You start with some calming music to wash away any stress and outside noises. Your feet are placed in a bucket of warm water to soak while the massage starts. Head, neck, shoulders and upper back are worked on before moving to the important part...the feet. If you have not had a Chinese Reflexology Massage before, you MUST try this. Unlike other massage, you will remain fully clothed for this type. One note: I would recommend loose clothing and remove jewelry, bracelets, watches, etc. Pants that easily roll up to the knees will make the massage easier. Traditional Chinese Reflexology is a therapeutic style of reflexology based on the principles of Chinese medicine. Thorough a deep and invigorating massage of the reflex points on your feet, Traditional Chinese Reflexology helps to balance the flow of energy throughout your body. Skeptics can say what they want, but my feet (and whole body) haven't felt like this in years. I left relaxed and a very energized. The cost is affordable and the place is private enough for a massage. An hour later and I feel great!
