My friend & i decided to see if they had an opening for a massage while out in Newport to celebrate her birthday yesterday. When in room the man asked me if i had been there , i said no due to my first time being at that location. Maybe he misunderstood & thought i never had a massage of not knowing what to expect. I was laid on my stomach the whole time of the massage which i found odd but not knowing how long ive been laying there when he said all set i was confused that maybe they did things different there. My feet werent touched either. Which was also uncommon. Once in the Jeep, My friend shared that that all was done to her but the woman who worked on her popped a blood vessel on her hand causing bruising and swelling .we must have been their last appts. Just like everything else on this God forsaken island, leave it to get something worth your money. $115 to be lathered in too much oil and rubbed down for 50 minutes is absurd. I had a wonderful experience at Anli spa today. I called this afternoon and they got me in on the day of! A friend referred me to this place, and honestly I probably wouldn't have gone otherwise, but I'm so glad I did. I usually look for a solo practitioner in a more private setting, but I was very happy with everything. I was greeted by smiling faces in an immaculately clean, esthetically pleasing, well kept environment. Everyone there seemed kind and considerate. My aunt got a massage as a walk-in. This massage consisted of I hr full body for $60. She raved about how good the massage was and the care that her technician to ensure that the focus areas were being taken care of. The layout of the facility is very nice and calming. The parking is suitable and can accommodate clients although it shares with other businesses. read more

I have recieved eyelash extensions from Michelle at Anli Spa for some time now and each time I am more pleased. She is patient and very detailed and my eyelashes always look great, but also natural and healthy. On my first visit, Michelle did an excellent job of evaluating my particular eye shape, and applied the shape and style of lashes that was best for them. I have been going to Anli Spa for years. Most recently it has been difficult to book online with a specific therapist. Emails and phone messages are not returned. Why bother with online booking if you have to call and email? My therapist gives an excellent massage every time; she is professional and intuitive. At my most recent appointment I attempted to use my gift certificate but the receptionist was unable to process it or the tip on my credit card so she charged me for the price of the massage and the tip I told her I wanted to give on my credit card. I did not receive a receipt and have tried to contact the manager by email to ensure my therapist received her tip but my messages have gone unanswered. The massage is always very good but it's a pain dealing with the business part of it. read more

I had an appointment at another location but they called and had to cancel. My back was in rough shape and I looked for another place. I booked the appointment online at Anli spa with Eileen for a 90 minute deep tissue massage. it was excellent. Full 90 minutes and she was routinely checking to see if pressure was correct. i could feel the problem spots relax very quickly. what made it so good was the attention she gave to my neck, shins and feet. I had no idea how much they needed to be worked on. I have not had another massage where these areas were worked on. Most times only a minute or two at most Is given to these areas. Not the case with Eileen and I am very appreciative. She was very patient and got the right pressure to really improve my entire body. I walked out of there feeling 100% better than walking in. I will definitely take the longer drive in the future to reschedule another appointment. read more

My husband had purchased a gift card for me after I had been having an extremely rough week. The gift card was good for a 30 minute upper body massage. This was my first time getting a massage at this location and I wanted it to stop within the first 10 minutes but hoped it would get better. The first thing that was odd was the fact that the gentleman doing the massage didn't dim the lights at all. Full lights the whole time. Next, he kept a towel over my back 98% of the time. No, it wasn't a warm towel to relax the muscles some either. It wasn't until the last 5 minutes or so that he applied some to my neck before massaging my scalp. Also, while giving the massage, he kept pressing really hard on my shoulder blades, causing them to pop uncomfortably. I tried to shift around some to make it more comfortable, but I wasn't able to. I have a spot near one of my shoulder blades that holds a lot of tension. I have a couple friends that have their massage license and were able to find the spot instantly without me even telling them about it. I was really looking forward to getting that worked out some today, but instead the opposite happened. I'm now in a lot of pain in that area. The massage ended with him using my back as a drum set as he played a little tune. It took everything in me to not laugh at what was happening. When I was finished, the ladies at the desk asked how the massage was. Me, being awkward and just ready to leave, replied with "uummm. Good. Have a good day." But I really should have just told them the truth. That was the absolute worst massage that I've ever had and I left with more pain and tension than I came in with. read more

Hopefully things have turned around for anali spa but I went in about a month after they opened for a quick eye brow wax. I usually go to the other nail salon in the same parking lot but thought I would support a new spot. My son and boyfriend waited patiently for me in the car thinking it would be quick but it was anything but. Thank god there was a subway next door. The woman who was doing my eyebrows kept saying they just got a new wax and it was really sticky. It took her about ten minutes to do my brows when it should really take 5 minutes tops.. and I left with goo in my brows because it was so sticky. You know when they hand you the mirror to check out your brows ? I was mortified at how much she took off and how uneven they were. I have never been one to complain about my eyebrows. I thought almost anyone could successfully do a wax but this place proved me wrong. read more

my massage therapist was outstanding. She listened carefully to my concerns, and helped improve the range of motion in my shoulder (residual adhesive capsulitis). Yet never did she hurt me; this deep tissue expert masseuse helped me a lot. "Covid" style means you lay face down entire time, not my favorite but understandable and not too uncomfortable if you try to adjust your position every so often. The spa facilities were spotlessly clean, relaxing, and very restful. Even wearing a mask, I could smell the aromatherapy lavender fragrance. Highly recommended! read more

I have been waxing for a very long time and I recently had the worst waxing experience of my life at Anli Spa. I went for a Brazilian bikini wax and halfway through the consultant Stephanie starting having trouble with the wax. She said she couldn't get it off and didn't know what as going wrong with it. She kept applying an oily solution with a citrus smell to try and dissolve it and it was becoming increasingly uncomfortable. She then said she would need try to cut as much of the wax off as possible. She did this and then continued to apply the solution until most of the wax was removed and then said she was done and wouldn't be charging me for the service. At this stage I had been there an hour, only had half the waxing job done and I was experiencing severe stinging and redness. Once I was dressed I looked at the bottle of solution she was using and discovered it was 'Equipment Cleaner', to be used to remove spilled wax from equipment and surfaces. It clearly said 'not to be used on skin'. I was furious and confronted her about this. She said she was sorry but had used it before and thought it would be fine. I went straight home and had to use cold washcloths to alleviate the redness an stinging throughout the day. It took 2 days to feel better and I did not feel I should risk going elsewhere to have more hot wax applied and irritate it before my vacation so I have to go with only half a wax. I waited a few days before writing this review because I thought I might receive a phone call or email from the management at Anli to apologize and check if I am OK. I did not, which tells me they clearly do not care about their customers. read more

The only reason I gave AnliSpa more than one star is because I do want to recognize that there were some positives with my experience. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the spa is very clean and welcoming. One negative that I suppose is somewhat out of their control - they are next door to a Subway and it's evident by the smell that seeps over into the spa . But, the lack of skill is what would deter me from returning to this spa. I made an appointment for a microdermabrasion facial. When I made the appointment online it booked me for a 90 min time slot. The facial only lasted 60 min. Further, I question whether the esthetician actually was an esthetician. Very nice, but she had no idea what she was doing with the diamond tip tool used for microdermabrasion. I've had many of these types of facials. This woman did not know how to handle the suction on the tool and virtually did nothing to my face. Further she did no skin extractions nor did she give me any feedback on my skin. She recognized that "something was wrong" with the microdermabrasion machine and gave me a discount but the service I received was not worth what I paid, even at a discount. I left with oily skin and a pink tinted lip moisturizer all over my mouth and a dab on my forehead. Not to mention that two employees tried to up-sell me with eye lash extensions but neither could tell me the brand they use at the spa. I was looking forward to using this new spa in town but based on this experience I'm not sure I would return until I knew they had more experienced staff. Very disappointing. read more
