On a whim, I decided to get my nails done after having a fabulous brunch at Rachel's Cafe a few doors down. It was about noon on a Friday. There were 2 customers being serviced and I had this very odd feeling when I walked in (can't explain it but I kind of wanted to turn around and leave, but i didn't)... I asked if they had time for a gel mani, they said yes, and I noticed they had dip so asked if I could do dip instead.... The female worker said yes and then said something that I didn't quite catch (she was working on a customer's Pedi and basically had her back to me) but I walked in the direction she pointed. I asked (politely) where the color samples were and she angrily responded that she told me to sit down in chair number 4 and the samples were RIGHT HERE, even getting up from her customer's pedi to put me in my place. Wow, I no idea where that attitude was coming from and since I already had this odd feeling when I walked in, I said "I'm sorry, I really don't think this is going to work for me today. Thank you." And I turned around to leave. She then had the audacity to say something about how she told me to sit down and where the colors were... but she was kind of yelling at me, so I said "I'm sorry, but I did not understand what you said" and she replied with something like "yeah, that's good you leave, buh-bye". I'm still confused where that attitude came from because it was certainly uncalled for and inappropriate. I had never been there before and had I read the reviews prior to going, I wouldn't have gone. I would give this place ZERO stars if I could. read more

I am 32 weeks pregnant and my legs and feet have been so swollen! I love coming here for manis and pedis, but today decided to get the *deluxe* pedicure and oh my goodness, HOW RELAXING! I almost fell asleep. The lotion, oil, and hot rock massage was fantastic and I would 100% giving the deluxe pedicure a try. I will definitely be getting the deluxe from now on. read more

I have been to Central Nails several times. I especially liked it because it's never very busy. Days after my last visit for a pedicure I developed Athlete's foot. I'm never bare foot and live alone so I am not exposed to anything else that could have caused this. My daughter went a couple of weeks after me and noticed their brushes and whatever they scrub your feet with looked old and worn. She didn't feel that they were very clean and was paying special attention after my issue. She had her pedi and was encouraged to sit under the fan for a few minutes. My daughter paid the woman who did her pedi as soon as she was done. As she was walking out the door a different woman who had no interaction with her ran out yelling and asking if she paid. After my daughter said yes she asked again. She's an adult and does not look like a person who would skip out on paying for a service. The woman clearly didn't check with the tech who did my daughter's pedi before being so rude and off putting. They have definitely lost two customers for good. read more

Worst pedicure I've ever had. I was rushed in and rushed out. I was in and out in 20 minutes with a 2 minute total massage. When I book a pedicure it's to sit back, relax and have my nails done. It was awful, it felt like a factory assembly line..just going through the motions and shoved out the door. It to mention it doesn't seem very clean.. will not be back. read more

Don't go here! It's absolutely awful, The guy in front was rude to my friends and I as soon as we walked in and didn't even acknowledge us even though we had appointments. We sat there for over two hours getting our nails done and they came out so hideously ugly the shape was so off and the polish was clumped on. I KINDLY asked the lady to redo my nails because they were absolutely unacceptable and she started yelling at me and grabbing at my hands aggressively, rushing to redo them. She then proceeded to tell me to not come back ever again and to go to a different nail salon even though my friends and I were giving them business. The end result of my nails were still absolutely hideous and my friends and I were not satisfied with the service at all. Not to mention they charged us for everything even though THEY messed up. Stopped in for a manicure as I was visiting from NY. Very surprised at the lack of hospitality and glum reception that I experienced. The manicure wasn't terrible but not great and expensive for a regular type manicure. They did not moisturize my hands with lotion. I was told by owner to go wash my hands before he slapped some polish on. I was very polite to him but did not receive same treatment. If I lived here, I would frequent a different place for sure. read more

I have enjoyed the manis, pedis and gel nails. Prices are good, staff is pleasant. It is a good location with sufficient parking. The technicians tend to come and go as they travel to their homeland for months and then return. They are all pretty good and the concentrate while the work on your nails. I recommend this business. I first came to Central Nails a few weeks ago and Lieu did my nails-- she did a fantastic job. I chose this salon because it is close to where I work and it makes the most sense to go somewhere close. I returned yesterday and the man (I am unsure of his name) did my nails. I asked for a dip manicure (something I have been getting done for over two years at other salons) but that I had acrylics on now (a miscommunication with Lieu that I was okay with because they looked fantastic). (Side note, he was visibly annoyed that he had to take them off). Anyways, he tried to clip my nails to remove the acrylic and I stopped him saying that they are my natural nails and that I do not want them cut. He then proceeded to argue with me saying that in order to remove them they had to be cut off then have tips put on. After a few irritated exchanges he looked at Lieu, said something to her that I could not understand, then she repeated what he had already told me. I insisted that they did not have to cut my nails and the man became more annoyed. I should have walked out then and there but I needed to get it done that night (after this exchange 3 other woman walked out seemingly shocked without saying a word right before they were supposed to get their nails done). I told him just to do a fill and he was clearly irritated. The whole experience was tainted at that point. Continuing along he snapped at me on a few occasions for moving my hands... I have tremors that cause my hands to shake and cause my fingers move "on their own" at times. While he was polishing, my finger jerked and he yelled at me then laughed it off. The manicure finished with a "you're all done". There was lotion and cuticle oil that was not offered to me. He also did not check with me that I liked the shape or the color throughout the manicure... he did not even confirm that I wanted the same shape and in result gave me rounded instead of almond). When I said that I did not have Venmo he seemed frustrated. At the end of it all he over charged me for the same exact manicure that Lieu gave me. I'm very sad because I really loved her work but refuse to go back to a place with such toxic air. I am giving 2 stars because while the attitude and application soured my experience, he did do a good job with the polish application overall. read more

This place is just wonderful! I made a reservation for five manicure / pedicures at 4 PM. We were running late, and I called to let them know. No problem at all. We all walked in and were helped! They were incredibly kind to myself (31F), my mother and two aunts (58, 55, 64) and my 91 year old grandmother! They were detail oriented, gave wonderful foot massages, shaped our nails well and painted beautifully. We paid with a credit card and paid tips in cash. Thank you Central Nails! I am a local resident and advise you to google another local nail salon because Central nails is not worth a visit. The man who appears to be a manager or owner is very rude and pushy. But if it were his personality alone, I would still go & get one of the female employees. However, the quality of his work is poor & he does not stand behind his salon's services. I use Yelp all of the time when I am on vacation & strongly suggest you avoid Central nails in South County Commons. There are plenty of other inexpensive nails salons in the area ( like VIP in Narragansett or Lee's in Wakefield). Happy vacation in South County!! read more

I received the worst manicure here... the technician did not leave the acetone on long enough to loosen up the shellac polish from a previous manicure, so she had to scrape the polish off she barely cleaned up my cuticles or massaged my hand she finished it up by applying the polish, which needed another coat to make the polish look even and then she nicked it up but didn't feel the need to fix it finally, I was charged $16 for a basic manicure, which I'm pretty sure she made that price up because it should have been $13 according to the sign, but at this point I just wanted out so I didn't argue Bottom line-any place in a 5 mile radius is much better than this place! read more

I wish I could give this place no stars but there is no option. I got Shellac gel done and the next day they started chipping. I went back and they said they weren't chipped and not to mention the lady wasn't looking at my nails under a light. After arguing for 5 minutes they finally fixed them. A week later they chipped again in the same spots. Save your money and paint your own nails. read more

Overall, my friend and I had a negative experience here. The owner/nail tech was nice enough at first, not very friendly but that didn't both us. My nails came out fine, however, he did a terrible job filing my friend's. They were ragged and misshaped. She was sitting at the nail dryer for only a few minutes when he came over and asked to see her nails. He touched one and told us they were fine. However, they were still in that semi-dry state and so he left a finger print in her nail! She told him this and he became extremely rude. He argued with her that there was nothing wrong. One of the females came over and gave my friend another top coat to smooth it out, but the owner continued to give us dirty looks. When we finally left, he started yelling at the female. Really rude! Then a few hours later, I looked at my nails and noticed they had strange pull marks in them. I've had similar experiences when I've used poor quality polish. They were perfectly fine for two hours after I left, but now look crappy! We will definitely not be returning to this salon. read more

I live at the commons and started going there for convenience but the quality of the manicure is poor and the man and his wife(owners) that performed manicures as well don't know about customer service. The wife of the owner was the one that used to do my nails, but always seems to be angry at something, the las time I went I complemented her clothes and she ignored me.. I thought she didn't hear me and I said it again and she answered : " I HEARD YOU!" And roll her eyes at me! What a jerk! Then I asked her what was she upset about? And she said IT'S NOT AT YOU! IT'S AT MY HUSBAND!well, I said: well, you should not bring that attitude with you, specially towards your customers.. And she continued acting mad..this was not the first time she behaved like that. I wish I could give this dump no stars. I walked in and nobody greeted or even looked at my friend and I. After sitting for 30 min a lady finally walked up and asked what we were going to be doing and then just walked away. We waited another 30 min and then had the worst service. I wanted the color green and there were barley any colors to choose from. The women had no interest in helping me but finally I picked out a color and just wanted to change from almond to coffin shape but she refused too do that.... she could tell how upset I was and knew how long I waited,,, gave little explanation and then just moved on to the next customer. Great place if you want to have your nails done while staff gives you dirty looks and then tries to say you asked for something you did not ask for. I went here today and it was awful! I wouldn't normally write a bad review because maybe it was just a bad day, but this needs to be said. I asked to get a full set of acrylic nails, no gel on top, just normal nail polish. The man working there told be $28, which is an ok price (I got my nails done not too long ago at lee's nails for only $25). I am a quirky person, and I love getting colorful, long acrylics every few months. The man started doing my nails, but cutting the natural nail very fast and quite carelessly. I didn't say anything. He started to glue the tips on, and cut one pretty short without asking me the length I wanted. I told him I wanted them long, and he kept trying to convince me to get them shorter saying "it is hard to do anything with them long", which I would understand if I had told him it was my first time getting them, but I explained that I wanted long, almond shaped nails and that is the way I always get them, he told me that it would cost $4 more. My dad was the one paying, and so I didn't want to jack up the price to $30 when we could have just been paying $25. The man working there continued to cut the rest of the tips, being very careless with it, and when he was about to put the acrylic on, I stopped him because I wanted them to be a different shape. He told me it would cost more. After 2 minutes of arguing, he started to cut the nails off shorter and said that he wasn't going to do my nails at all and that I had wasted his time. I left the store with jagged tips on that scratched me all day until I could take them off at home. very unprofessional. read more

I have been going to the owner's nail salons since I moved to Wakefield a dozen years ago. They do a beautiful job, the salon is very clean, and they are reasonably priced. The owners are kind people and always greet me with a smile. And if my tired old back is sore, they don't rush me out of the massage chair! The husband has a dry sense of humor, which I love.
