When the shelter in place took place in early March, I was one of the many people that bought my first handgun. After I got it, I went up to my friend's ranch who knew how to shoot guns and he tried to teach me. Being a coach, I soon realized that I needed proper training, or I would be dangerous to myself and others which could result in death! I searched online and signed up for a "home defense" course with another company. It was a horrible experience. The owner who taught the course was a terrible coach and I walked away feeling very frustrated on not having received proper coaching. I went to the internet again and luckily, I found Delta Tactical and signed up for Pistol 1: Pistol Safety & Fundamentals. Immediately upon arrival I knew it was going to be a great course. They took great care in making sure everyone that arrived was healthy by taking temperatures and making sure we all had masks. Lawrence Treat the CEO and Director was extremely nice and thoughtful making sure everybody in the class was taken care of and hydrated offering us free bottled water as its HOT in Antioch. Robert Guzman Lead Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor who has credentials up the wazoo taught the course. He was awesome as an instructor in the way that he broke down the course everything from: rules/responsibility for safe gun handling, gun/ammo components and function to basic laws and much more! After about 4 hours in class we had a lunch break and went to the range. At the range we met up with another great instructor by the name of "Cutter". I must say the range experience was fantastic! Lawrence, Robert, and Cutter were very safe, patient and gave clear coaching on our handguns. They made everyone in the class both men and woman feel extremely comfortable and made sure we all had fun during the process. I walked away feeling greatly confident on how to use my handgun in a safe and effective manner. I had such a great experience that I signed up for their level 2 course as well as their Intermediate Handgun course and Intro to AR15! If you are a new handgun owner, I recommend that you get proper coaching and I HIGHLY recommend the courses that Delta Tactical Training has to offer! read more

Professionalism, professionalism, professionalism. Combine professionalism with an enjoyable and safe environment to learn about the necessary gun responsibility, skills, and fundamentals to be a solid shooter; I'm short of words to describe how much of a great experience this was, but I'll go ahead elaborate. Robert, Larry, and Justin truly made the day a great one. I recently participated in the July 19th Pistol Skills and Firing Techniques Training course. It's incredible to see how far my skills have progressed from Jerry's class, Pistol Safety, and Fundamental Training. I've only done dry firing drills between classes and would consider the July 19th class my second actual training course (live fire). I'm looking forward to continuing my training with Delta Tactical and would extend a proud recommendation. If you're serious about gun ownership, the responsibility that comes with it, and the pure joy and fun of being on the range, then there isn't another group I'd recommend. Delta Tactical is the one-stop organization for your training needs. You can come rest assured, safety, fun and specific skill accomplishment will be the bare minimum when you spend a day on the range with these gentlemen. I'm happy to say it goes well beyond that! I am looking forward to training with Delta Tactical going forward. read more

Absolutely amazing place to get your fire arms training. It was very informative, so much to learn and the Phil the Instructor was very knowledgeable and willing to help and advise as you. He will answer any question you have and teach you the laws you must know. He was the first person to explain how EXACTLY your supposed to look down the sights. To him it was common knowledge to me it was the little bit of information that greatly improved my accuracy. He truly is a gun master. Follow all instructions, Listen to everything the instructor has to say it may be on the test, and make all your shots into YOUR OWN TARGET!!!!!! You will pass the class. I will be heading there for all of my testing and retesting needs moving forward even though its a small commute for me. Especially for any guards who aren't sure if they want to spend the money to get your exposed firearms card, its worth it especially if you come here for licensing. Is there any place as good informative and novice friendly as here, I don't think so. read more

Phil and I after the guard card class. Phil has decades of experience and is a phenomenal teacher, mentor and human being. His knowledge is vast and his guidence is priceless. He crosses all the t's dots all the i's and is on his p's and q's. Very kind, attentive, patient and soft spoken. He really makes sure to get the point across so its understood clearly and with confidence. The facility was spacious for all 12 us and could have fit 8 more comfortably. The restroom had amenities you would only find in youre own home or a luxary gym and the ventillation and room temp was perfect climate for class and testing. Also there was coffe, tea, water and donuts were complimentary The class and experience was worth every penny thanks to Phil and the teams thoughtfulness and the state of the art facility. Delta Tactical Training Group is the premier training group of the east bay, no doubt about it. read more

Sam was great, he was very knowledgeable about his teaching and accommodating for students of all levels in our Pistol 1 class. Being the very first class Of more I signed up for, and plan on taking. I feel like Sam made sure we all learned something new in the classroom portion, despite previous varying levels of experience. The range was the highlight, I didn't know we were actually going to be doing shooting drills, prior to the class. That was a very pleasant surprise for me and my friends. I thought maybe it would be just trigger control for all 50 rounds or something similar. We had a great time with Sam and Dave, we will see you guys in the coming weeks for pistol 2, and hopefully pistol 3 this summer as well. Evan read more

Had a fantastic time both in the classroom and on the range. Mitch, the instructor, was very knowledgeable and shared personal experiences. He is passionate about gun safety and respecting firearms. The classroom time flew by and then we hit the range. I was a nervous wreck! But through the calm instructions from Mitch, Justin, and Larry, I was able to overcome my fears and I ended up feeling confident and empowered! As a new and responsible gun owner, I know I made the right choice in being taught the basics by this group. Administration staff made it easy to sign up and were friendly to all. I am looking forward to the next class! Delta Tactical Training Group is solid! Thank you for a fantastic experience!! read more

I completed the Pistol 1 course this weekend and can honestly say that the training obtained surpasses any concern the cost for the class might have! Extremely conscientious instructor and range supervisor both were so patient with all of us in the class. As a novice I wasn't sure how it would go in the classroom or at the range. Any trepidation I might have had going in was eliminated with the quality and expertise of the instructors. After this course I am looking forward to more range shooting and will be enrolling in the next course: Pistol 2. read more

Phil and Andrew were amazing instructors! The class and drills were fast-paced, designed to prepare you both for qualifying and for real-life scenarios. If you've only shot a few times at a local range, I highly recommend starting with their Class 1 or Class 2 before moving on to the 16-hour CCW course. The training was a great experience overall. Not only was it practical and engaging, but it also helped me correct habits I didn't even realize I had. Highly recommended for anyone looking to improve their skills and build confidence. read more

The training was thorough, well-structured, and gave me the confidence I was looking for. Highly recommend Delta Tactical to anyone serious about responsible gun ownership. read more

Signed up with Delta Tactical as part of their BSIS Firearm permit courses and I could not be more glad to have it done here. Marisa, the receptions lady was incredibly helpful in getting familiar with the process. It had been a while since I shot but Phill , the Firearm instructor really took the time to point out what I was doing wrong and gave me tailored advice on how I can improve my shooting. Thanks to his help, I scored a perfect 250. Thank you Phill and Marisa for making the process so easy! read more

I came here for the exposed firearms training class to become certified for work as a retired LEO. The owner and the staff were all very respectful and professional. Our instructor Phil took the time to teach the class so that new shooters and veteran shooters could take something away from his personalized instructions. I highly recommend this outfit to anyone needing any type of security, tactical, or firearms training whether you are new to the field or a veteran. read more

I went to Delta Tactical to receive my BSIS approved pepper spray and baton permit. I am so glad that I found this place that is within the area that I live.
