I was worried when Sportsman Warehouse gun counter staff told me he did not recommend Delta Tactical for my gun training when they asked me where I was taking my classes. He said he was not impressed, but I trusted my Yelpers and thought I would try it to see for myself and rate accordingly. I take gun ownership seriously and want to be an informed and responsible gun owner! Honestly, I do not really like guns-it scares me, and they are not toys to be played with. I wanted to make sure I know it inside and out and will be an expert one day. So I took both the Pistol 1 Women's class and the AR-15 (both happened to be on the same weekend). Pistol 1 Women's class was great, and I felt more comfortable being with just women. Lucy Foster was a wonderful instructor, and it made me feel more comfortable with her. She was great and had an extensive background. I felt better after taking the class, and surprising, since I had never touched a gun before that, I was a great shot-I got the head and bullseye X marks, and one hole I went through even twice! The guy remarked I would not want to break into your house! That made me feel better that I could do it! In the beginning, I flinched at every shot, whether I did it or someone else shot it. I was more comfortable as the shooting progressed. I definitely will take more classes and want open range time to practice, like I said to master it one day. My goal is to be able to CCW one day. AR-15 Intro class-now I thought the Pistol 1 class was great, BUT This class exceeded even those expectations! THIS class was phenomenal-I learned so much, and you have the BEST teaching it! I LOVED Justin Luo and Taylor! They are a great combination of skill, instruction, and patience! This was not an easy class at all-just going through the maneuvers is not for the faint of heart or one with neck, back, and knee injuries like I have! I had to go prone, kneel and sit to shoot-I swear I was doing yoga moves! I was worried I could not get up! I did it, for the most part-not, bad for a grandma of three!? I was probably the oldest one there, and at first, I thought it was only a class full of big and burly men (some who already knew how to shoot multiple kinds of guns, including the AR!), so I was worried. Thankfully, two more women came later-and the men were great and kind as well. So TIP #1- bring earplugs or those gun mufflers (is that what it is called?). I did not like my cheapie earplugs (you can buy all of these at Delta Tactical, too) because I could barely hear the instructors, so had to keep taking it out, The ear muff kinds you can turn on to hear the instructors and turn off when shooting-I think to invest in those to use at the gun range too. Tip #2- Wear knee pads! One guy who knew what he was already doing, wore them, and I told him that was smart! Because the gravel rocks went through my jeans, and my knees were reddened and hurting by the end of the day! Tip#3-do NOT wear tank tops; wear a shirt with a collar the best bc those casings are HOT and canburn you! So I was tired after my pistol 1 class, but not too bad, and it went by fast. The AR-15 was packed with lots of info, and handling the gun a lot which I liked because I knew nothing! This was a longer class, and by the end of this, I was exhausted! This class is a workout! BUT this class is so important bc that gun is still a powerful and lethal weapon, and you better know how to use it properly and with safety in mind. In all the classes, safety was at the forefront. You are being trained by the BEST in the field. The AR-15 class is taught by SWAT team members from the Brentwood police department. It makes me feel better these are the good guys protecting us. I always have respected the policemen and think of them as heroes-I am sure they do much more than we did in class, so my respect has increased a thousand times even more now! Imagine a criminal who won't take classes, most likely, and to do all the things this gun does-it is an even more scary thought that they have guns!!! So to defend your home, you buy a gun, but facing a guy who shoots and not really knowing his gun most likely (and that is why you see they just shoot and often miss if you see the camera surveillance videos), so what do you need to do? So knowing they don't have classes most likely, I think it is better to make yourself take classes and get to the level of expertise because that will give you the advantage to defend yourself bc you know what you are doing then! I want to get a criminal in as few shots as possible-preferably just one to neutralize the threat. I will do anything to defend my home and family and every gun owner should be a responsible gun owner and take it seriously. I recommend Delta Tactical Training to every gun owner. My husband was saying you just shoot (he has never shot a gun)how hard is that and why take these classes?! After those classes, I am glad I took it-be in control of your own destiny. read more

Long overdue review. I have been wanting to learn how to use a gun for a long time. I've been to the range with my husband and he's attempted to teach me, but quite frankly even with him having many years of experience, to me he learned hillbilly style out in the woods. I wanted the real deal training with learning the basics and safety safety safety! My first class was Pistol 1 with Instructor Ted and range officer Andrew. They were professional, patient (I'm a pain in the ass so that was nice), and the class perfect for a newbie or even someone wanting to refresh the with the basics and safety. With my new found enthusiasm I went home from Pistol 1 in immediately signed up for Pistol 2! Pistol 2 with Instructor Steve and again range officer Andrew. I was the only woman in the class and at first I was pretty intimidated by that but Steve and Andrew were professional and helpful and it was a good experience. Shooting at the Concord Police range is neat and we were able to do some pretty cool drills that you can't do at a public range. I left feeling excited to continue learning and practicing my skills. I highly recommend Delta Tactical. I was a person who had a real fear of handguns and now I am able to handle a firearm comfortably and most importantly safely. read more

Also, getting to practice and build that muscle memory made all the difference. I went to a Pistol 1 class a few weeks ago. 3 hours of classroom instruction and 2 hours at the range. We were learning from people who aren't just law enforcement - but regular people. My husband is black. He kept asking - is the class going to be diverse? Honestly, I didn't know. I saw videos of folks - all ethnicities - in their social media and Youtube videos. I spoke with Laura and Lucy - and to be honest, just talking to them about our concerns removed my apprehension. So, we took the class. It was REMARKABLE. The instructor, Mitch - is super relatable. He's like a guy you'd meet at baseball game with his family. My husband even asked questions - he was that comfortable! Mitch really conveyed that the goal was to leave the class feeling informed, confident and aware of what a firearm can do..and what our responsibilities are as gun owners. Asking questions was easy...the answers come back plain english..no airs..no egos...all about safety and common sense. The range experience is one where you feel SAFE. Everyone is responsible for this. Look out for that other person...no egos. (Isn't that how it should ALWAYS be? Looking out for the safety of another person?) If you see someone not being safe..you say something. Another instructor stayed on with our class and demonstrated shooting and stance - which was really helpful. My class had men and women - young and old. (White, Black, Asian, Hispanic) ..all of us had some level of awareness...but hadn't fired in quite a while. We were refreshing our knowledge and gaining confidence. You cannot put a dollar value on what we learned in that class. Having someone teach you, relate to you...provide examples and observe your technique and stance. All the while, teaching safety, self awareness and awareness for the environment around you. There aren't enough stars on this app to convey the value of this class. Much thanks to their instructors who DO have full time jobs! Where to even start. I took my first class back in August, since then I have taken numerous classes including PRIVATE LESSONS. I must say my experience with this Company was not a good one for me. The instructor Phil, was very knowledgeable, but seem to have some unknown bias towards Me or just not a people person. The instructor made me feel dumb every time I asked question, but would say there's no such thing as a dumb question. I am very foreign to firearms and wanted to learn as much as possible, so I could be as safe as possible. The classroom was very congested and was bad for my asthma. I was coughing, he stopped the class session and asked if I was vaccinated. Which is none of his business. After I gave him my status he went on for 5 mins telling me, about the choices I made and how I need to make smarter ones. Phil continued to get personal asking if I was a Jehovah witness too due to my vaccination status. Making a joke about it. As well during the class he felt comfortable enough to Say the "N" word, in joke twice...that made me very uncomfortable for the remainder of class... he's Japanese I'm African-American. At the gun range after our final exam, I wanted to address his behavior and his comments. He started to yell at me telling I was done and calling me a liar, becoming even more unprofessional, with his supervisor present. I had to ask him multiple times to not raise his voice at me and to listen to my constructive criticism. He didn't want to listen and walked away. I recently did the 8hr CCW course and it was informal and covered all bases for the qualifications needed for the training. Melissa helps you out as soon as you enter and even offers food and drink just incase you're like me and didn't bring anything. Phil Is the instructor and he is very knowledgeable and will teach you something new because of how experienced he is. I am a beginner. Been to the range a bunch of times, but never felt confident enough to have a firearm in my home, nor ever had real instruction about a firearm. Today I took the Firearm Fundamentals and Safety course with Delta Tactical and it far exceeded my expectation. Robert and Larry were our instructors. They explained everything clearly and answered questions patiently. The classroom time flew by. We had 4 hrs classroom, 2 hours hands on at the range. We had an officer come through and talk with us as well. Once on the range, they were clear in instruction and safety was always first. They corrected my errors in stance and grip and advised how to more easily load ammunition. All in all, this was a great day. Well worth the investment. I will be taking the pistol 2 course as a next steps. NOTE...cant remember the other instructor from the range but he was goid/helpful too. read more

The Three instructors on the range deserve 10 stars!!! I recently attended the Pistol 1 class for women, EXCELLENT class. Lucy taught the class along with officer Mitch. The class was super informative before we ever hit the range. Once at the range the class was extremely well run, I felt safe. In the beginning I was terrified, like shaking. But by the end I felt a ton more confident with a gun in my hand. I HIGHLY recommend this class for someone who has never handled a gun, or is moderately afraid of guns - this group of teachers is absolutely the BEST. My daughter and I took the Basic Civilian Safety Course I and II and I can honestly say that our outlook on guns/firearms is now totally different. They use to intimidate us and we never feel comfortable holding a gun, now we both feel very comfortable on handling and firing them should the cause arise. The staff, the class settings, information and handouts we were given, the instructions, and the patient, caring instructors in these classes make you feel at ease regarding all aspects of a firearm. The classes are very interesting and cover all the cardinal rules of owning and use of a weapon. We surely enjoyed both of the classes. I took the initial Exposed Firearms Permit course with Phil Chachere as my instructor. Phil is very informative; he provides training and insight based on his past experience as prior law enforcement. One of Phil's topics during his lectures is to remind Security Officers to try to de-escalate situations before any use of force is necessary. Safety is also a main factor when it comes to training with Phil, on and off the range. Phil does provide hands on training when it comes to firearm safety, handling, grip and stance, target acquisition/point shooting. Phil will inform you which topics will be questions in the written test during his lectures, so make sure you are paying attention and take notes. Phil does provide laser training guns for his students to use to work on their timing on their gun draw from holster to target. This did help me a lot and gave me insight on my draw speed when Phil Utilizes his timer. I was given the BSIS training booklet for the exposed carry permit to take home to study and was advised to work on my draw while dry firing. The next day I was given my written test which I passed without missing any questions. I met with Phil and the other students at the Concord Police Training range and completed my qualifications for the calibers I have chosen to carry. I highly recommend Delta Tactical Training Group and will be attending more of their courses in the future. read more
