So the side of my car rubbed up against the frame of the garage opening and part of a plank of wood came off (it was still hammered onto the frame, but it was sticking out). On top of that, my garage door wouldn't close (it had been going on before I ran into the garage frame). So I found DDD on Google and I had sent Tyler a few pictures of the damage done. He said he'd come into the area to take a (free) look and see how much it would cost me. He fixed the adjustment of the "electric eyes" so that our garage door closes. He also took a hammer and hammered the plank of wood back into place with no charge, and it looks as good as new! And then he talked honestly about how much it would take to fix a garage door opener, seeing as ours was really old and having electrical problems. What I really appreciated about him was that he never tried to up-sell me for things I didn't need. He even suggested that I could go to the store and install it myself if that would be cheaper and more beneficial to me. But if we DO end up changing our garage opener and need someone, I'm definitely going with DDD! Thanks Tyler for saving me money! This guy rocks I had a problem with my rollup door, and I thought I fixed it myself but the door started making some horrible sounds. I knew failure was probably in the near future. I gave this company a call , the gentleman who answered he said no at first, he was just getting ready to go on vacation. I told him I'm in Pittsburg and he happened to be in Pittsburg. I just bought a foreclosure in Concord and the garage doors were in bad shape. Neither worked and one side was being held "afloat" with a MacGyver-style wood plank that was nailed to a support beam. The only thing missing from the whole set-up was duct tape. On his first visit, Tyler inspected the entire system thoroughly and provided me with a quote that was easy to read and understand. He even quoted the cost of replacing one of the lift systems entirely in case it came to that just so I wouldn't be shocked when I received my final invoice. We scheduled a time to complete the repairs and he was 5 min early. He said the work would take about an hour and a half and ended up at 2 hours. He was clean, thorough, and more importantly, instructive. He showed me how to program my remotes and my keypad (I will probably not remember but at least he gave me the product manuals!). He set proper expectations for the types and age of the doors and lift systems that I have. He cleaned up like he was never there AND hauled away my old MacGyver wood plank set-up for me. I have had a non-functional garage door for close to 3 years and had Delta Diablo Doors bookmarked because of the consistent 5 star reviews. So just a little history from 3 years ago...I have one of the old tilt up doors and had a garage door opener installed by another door company who will remain nameless. After the install, the door never operated like normal; the door would come up slanted, one side coming up higher and the other side lagging behind. It sometime would not shut. I called this (nameless) door company back and they told me I needed a new door and hardware for the new motor that was just installed to work properly. They quoted an outrageous amount and at the time was not in the position for a replacement. So there sat my door and a brand new motor for 3 years. Fast forward to present day, I finally got up the courage to call Tyler at DDD. Tyler told me that he did not work on the tilt up doors anymore. He took the time to ask me some more questions about it to try to help me solve my problem. Long story short, even though he told me he did not work on my type of door, he offered to come by later that afternoon to take a look at it anyway free of charge. I am telling you....this gentleman, Tyler, came and spent 1 hour fiddling, adjusting, undoing springs, adjusting some more without charging me a dime. He even took some time to educate me on some of the mechanics of the door and hardware. I felt bad because this information was going over my head and this man came out and not charged me for his service was still taking the time. :) What a man of integrity! He got my old tilt up working but said that one of the spring seemed weak. He did not suggest that I replace the spring; rather he advised that I should eventually upgrade and invest in a roll up sectional door. He gave me a quote that is much easier to swallow than the one I received from the nameless company 3 years ago. Our door stopped working- I called him and he was very helpful giving me some trouble shooting things to try first- called him back the next day (when they didn't work) and he came the next day. Yep. He really is as good as it gets. Our garage door racked upon closing and popped two of its rollers out of the track. I was barely able to get it down without the opener, but that was as far as I could go. On Saturday afternoon. Two days after Christmas. I didn't hold out much hope, but I called Tyler. He answered immediately and said he would be here on Sunday afternoon at 2! Imagine that! And he came. He diagnosed the problem, fixed it, and showed me how to fix it myself the next time. He is knowledgeable, fair, and a pleasure to work with. My garage door broke on New Year's Eve, we called Tyler after seeing his phone number on Nextdoor, we set up an appt for Monday the 4th, unfortunately we had to open the garage door on Saturday to get the cars out and the door broke down even more, my husband called Tyler to see if there was any chance that he could do an emergency stop to our house to at least be able to close the door, he was soooooo nice, that was able to make a quick stop to at least be able to close the door, he did not even charge us until he comes back with the necessary parts to completely fix the door. I called several companies but Tyler spent some time on the phone with me trying to help me diagnose the problem that I was having. I thought it was the torsion springs but Tyler wasn't convinced based upon our conversation. He came out and tightened the springs but the door was still acting up, stopping half way up sporadically. Tyler checked a few things and thought it might be the motor circuit board. He needed to order one and come back out. I tried to pay him a service fee before he left but he wouldn't let me. He said that he hadn't fixed it, to pay him when he came back and he quoted me the price. He called as soon as the part came in, scheduled an appointment and showed up right on time. Tyler came out today to replace one of our cables that started to fray. He told me on the phone that actually both will have to be replaced however, the item is sold in pairs so of course it was not going to cost any more. He showed up on time (Sunday) and gave us a lot of helpful information about our door. He replaced not only the cables but a hinge that he said was bent. He did not try and sell us on anything. We have had others look and repair our garage door before and who shows up, a salesman who tries to sell you on things you don't need. Our son is also in need of repairs on his garage door and Tyler was nice enough to talk to him on the phone when he was done with our job and tried to find out what was wrong with his door and see if my son and fix himself. Like others on here I was lucky enough to find Tyler and Delta Diablo Garage doors many years ago and he has been fantastic. Just last Friday our 21+ year old door came off the tracks once again. I received a recommendation from one of the women in the Iron Horse Mother's Club that couldn't say enough about Tyler at Delta Diablo Doors. After having him fix my garage door, I totally agree and won't call anyone else from now on for my garage door repairs. I'm a pretty handy fella and Tyler was kind enough to offer some possible solutions to have me try out to save himself a trip, as well as missing out on possible income. The cable on my wood sectional door fell off and the door weighs close to 300 lbs. Needless to say, it was wedged too tightly against the track and the tension on the spring was keeping it from going down. Tyler gave me detailed instructions that worked to get my door down. I wouldn't have figured it out without his help. I wound up needing to have him come out to replace the bottom plate on the door that held the cable in place. I stood by his side, watching and learning and he was extremely patient in sharing his knowledge with me, in the event it broke again, I'd be able to fix it myself. He not only made the repair, but adjusted the bolts on all of the sectionals and checked out my other garage door to make sure it was in working order as well. When it came time for the invoice, I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of the bill and how fair his prices were. Tyler is DEFINITELY all about customer service.
