I had a deadbolt that wasn't lining up anymore. I thought that i just needed to put longer screws in the top hinge, but tho he spiraled quick. The screws I put in kept spinning and two snapped. I tried putting another two and those snapped. The I tried drilling out the snapped screws. Still no luck. The I posted a quote request here and Delta D Handyman replied quickly. I sent a picture of the issue and was able to give me a quote. Best part was that it was a simple enough job that they were able to squeeze me in on a Saturday (normally not open on Saturdays). Dany showed up right at the assigned time, I gave him the rundown of the issues I had and he told me what he could do. He put some better screws in the hinge and was able to move the strike plate down so that the bolt went smoothly in. All in about 30-40 mins. We had Danny out for some more work. This time we had some drywall holes patched up and repainted. We also had our 65" TV mounted up high on the wall because our 2.5 yr old loves to touch it and the sound bar lol. The drywall patches came out perfect and I couldn't be more happy about them. I've got to buy a few longer cords and a floating shelf to set the sound bar one but the TV mounting came out perfect. Danny installed a new power outlet up high behind the TV and a recessed cord tunnel. That way all cords will be hidden in the wall. Once again Danny knocked the work out fast, perfectly and was professional the entire time. Oh and the price was on point for the work! Well, Danny did it again. Recently my toilet was clogged. He came out at the end of his work day. Worked on and it got it to work. Then later it was worse! Oh no! He came out again. This time he completely removed the toilet, snaked the pipes that are under the floor and found a very large cleaning rag stuck in the pipe. He replaced a valve to the toilet, replaced the toilet, cleaned the floor and put everything back. When i saw the bathroom it sparkled. AND WORKED! My neighbors and I shared a nearly 40-year old mailbox post that was badly leaning and looked to be on the verge of falling over. We hired Dan based on his excellent reviews, some of which mentioned his experience in rebuilding mailbox posts. He did not disappoint, crafting a beautifully solid double mailbox post of pressure-treated lumber and redwood. He properly planted the post in gravel at the bottom of the dug hole to insure good drainage, and set it in concrete. Dan communicates well and is very responsive to questions. I needed a handyman service to help replace an aging 20+ year old mailbox post. Submitted the project via Yelp with a pic of the old post. Danny came out to take a quick look and understood that I just wanted a replacement with the same look but with a new pressure treated post and the mailboxes mounted the same way. Got an estimate sent the same day. I emailed back to accept it and get scheduled. An earlier spot opened up in between that time, but I couldn't do it, so we stuck to the original scheduled date. Hired them to install a window in our kitchen. They came and tore out the drywall in our kitchen for measurements and moved one vent pipe. Scheduled the window install part for January 22 and then confirmed to reschedule for February 5 due to delays delivering the window. Then they reached out to us because they had "Double booked" and wanted to push the job out to March 21. We told them March 21 is too far out. We cannot live in a kitchen with torn up drywall. Mice had gotten in through the drywall openings and we had to hire an exterminator. Also have family coming and staying from out of town for a month. Pushing the job out to March 21 was unacceptable for such a small job. Then they quit the job altogether and kept our deposit. I have included screen shots of the text messages and pics of the abandoned job. I suspect they got a bigger, more profitable job and decided to push our smaller job back without regard. Now I have to take them to court to get my deposit back and hire another contractor. I do not recommend doing business with this company but if you do end up hiring them, do not leave a deposit or they might quit your job and keep your money if they get a more profitable job to replace yours. **UPDATE** Upon further review of the little work they did do on replacing our 4 ft kitchen window with an 8 ft window, I discovered that they were not planning to install a header. Seriously. It's evidenced by where they relocated the vent pipe, which would not allow for a header. It's also evidenced by their markings and where they cut the studs. Just check the pics I posted. If they had installed the window, the framing would've sagged and glass cracked within months. In hindsight, Daniel quitting the job and keeping my deposit was a blessing in disguise. From one yelper to another... I would hardly trust these guys to assemble ikea furniture. AVOID. read more
