We contracted Reasonable Remodels to remodel our bathroom, including the shower with tiling the walls and tiling the bathroom floor. The Pedestal sink was damaged (cracked) by Reasonable Remodels crew before they installed it. They offered to replace it but never did. There are numerous issues with the installation of the tiles. Pictures with descriptions show the many issues. Reasonable Remodels proposed to: "Straighten any uneven tile edges Level any tiles that are too high or low Properly seal the shower handle plate Replace the pedestal sink with the correct unit" Reasonable Remodels replied to our list of issues: "We're a small operation--not a large company with endless resources--but that's also reflected in our pricing." Their proposal to straighten uneven tile edges and level tiles too high or too low was not sufficient. The shower walls and bathroom floor tiles needed to be demolished and completely redone. We decided NOT to have Reasonable Remodels attempt any rework. The quality of their initial work did not merit them performing any other work on our property. read more

We had a leaky water pipe in a wall. Kelly fixed the pipe within hours of showing up stopping the problem. He then bidded the repair to the wall. We found it to be a very reasonable price. The job became more complicated with the amount of wall damage to be larger then expected and how water logged the wall and room was. On top of that there may of been a risk of asbestos in the tear down of the wall. Kelly took all safety measures to control dust and to dry out the wall properly without rushing the job. Justin one of his workers was extremely conscientious to my household and property. The room was very hot to work in and they soldier on. They finish the job to expectation and brought in a cleaning team after then work was done. All this and he kept his word on the price he originally offered. Great guys and very responsive but very rushed work. Installed an exterior door and 2 interior doors. One of the doors would pop back out and needed to be pushed in a few times to close. Called for someone to take a look at the door and someone came out and reinstalled the door however, he rushed through it. Had to cut the door down but left the hinge side of the door unpainted so we have a door with an unfinished side. Said he'd stop by if he's in the area to paint it but never did. I also mentioned to him that the lock was now stuck (new door knobs) and he quickly jimmy rigged it and left. Our locking mechanism still gets stuck and we need to poke at it to release. They tried to paint over a mistake on the second interior door and you can tell because the area is textured and rough. Sounds like this is a side gig for them so just be careful. Edit: I apologize, I don't recall that being a recommendation. If that was the case I think it would've been best to turn down the job. He is very creative and even more so he was tactical in his approach creating the least amount of waste possible. Two words... Absolutely Amazing!!! That is how I would describe reasonable handyman service. My Mother's hot water heater recently went out and unfortunately she had been without hot water for the last couple days. We had spent that time scouring Ythe internet and yelp trying to find the perfect plumber/handyman to rectify the issue. Everyone was either too busy with the recent rains or did not want to travel to Discovery bay to help out an elderly lady with her water issues. Their loss was our gain. Somewhere, somehow, we stumbled across reasonable handyman service. Long story short John and Kelly made my Mother, and her situation, a priority. They were able to go and pick up the new hot water heater for her and even extended some copper piping and all of the necessary hook ups. Thet worked tirelessly during install. My Mom could not believe how hard they worked and how knowledgeable they were. In fact, she has them coming out next week to work on a leak in her roof. John's guy did a terrific job on installing my security screen door! I LOVE it!!! Another of his guys did a good job building my side gate, though he dribbled/sprayed paint all over the place. And John's company posted pics of both of those jobs without asking for my permission. (?!) His guys did a good job on tarping my garage roof, and an OK job on repairing gutters, and installing gutter guards. His guy who replaced/repaired my front porch roof did a crappy job: it leaks like a sieve! (Said guy also absconded with a trash can. John subsequently replaced the trash can and fired that guy.) I think/hope his guy who replaced my sewer pipes did a good job. (John implied he'd be doing the work himself when he sent me the estimate. He sent two of his guys, instead. The main guy he sent seemed very conscientious, and was wonderful to work with!) John's company is NOT licensed, and therefore is NOT legally qualified to do any "big" jobs. (Didn't know that when I hired them.) His company is fine for small jobs, but I will not make the mistake of hiring them for any bigger jobs again. UPDATE, in response to John's comment: Thanks for your comment. Yeah, I contacted you directly shortly after the roof work was done. The structural support replacements seem solid, which I'm happy/relieved about. I reported the leaking to you, and you sent another guy out (Terry?) to follow up. Who said that the work that your original guy did made the leak issue worse. I have to agree. It's MUCH worse! Would consider hiring/recommending you again for very small jobs, only. read more

I had the crew quote a tile installation for a kitchen. The quoted price for install without materials was reasonable. Tile installation day went smooth with no major issues. The following day during, a late night grouting exposed multiple issues. Improperly measured cuts left large gaps at the bottom of the upper cabinets filled with heaps of grout and large gaps remained when electrical plug plates were mounted. I had to source larger electrical plug plates to cover the gap. There was so much grout and glue caked onto the tile, it took me over 8 hours using a razor blade to clean off the tiles The guys did a great job installing 1/4 round at the cabinets toe kick and repairing/painting drywall. read more

The first week of October I called Reasonable Handymen to get an estimate for a roofing job. I called the number shown on their Yelp page, 693-7024, and spoke with a fellow who made an appointment for several days later. He didn't show up. The next day I called the same number and spoke with a fellow who said that that number should not be on the Yelp page and that I should call 925-206-7364. I left a message on their voice mail and a woman called back. It sounded as if our name was in their system but she had us confused with a person in Pacheco (we're in Walnut Creek) who needed a garage door replaced. She took our correct info and said somebody would call us. After several days with no call I called 206-7364 again. The fellow who answered seemed confused that I had called and said that number was his personal phone, not a business number, and that I should call 428-3501. He assured me that someone was there to answer but, of course, there wasn't. I left a fresh message requesting an estimate for a small roofing job. It has now been 51 days without a reply. I'm mystified by the positive Yelp reviews. How can anyone who conducts their business in such a slipshod manner be trusted to do a satisfactory job? read more

I had a cracked shower pan and I could find no one..literally no one who could do the entire job of getting the pan out, installing a new one, re-tiling , and putting the shower enclosure back up. The best I could get were estimates for part of the job. Ugh. Then I reached out to the Reasonable Handymen, John and Kelly.
